Had an after church lunch with my son, daughter-in-law, wife, and two grandchildren(9&6). Food was good and the server was very attentive. Love Cracker Barrel. We are«frequent eaters and will certainly go back. That’s not the problem. We understood that it was Sunday and there would be a wait. But, we noticed that 50 or so people(not an exaggeration– could have been more) came in after we did and were seated before us. I figured out that they were calling the parties of 2 – 4 first and making the 6s and 8s wait regardless of the order they came in. It took us nearly an hour to be seated and then only after I complained to a manager. He gave some kind of nonsense explanation and scurried around to find us a table. I’m all for efficiency and I guess this helps the restaurant. But, it is not very good customer service. It’s not like we showed up with a party of 25 on a busy Sunday. People should be served as closely as possible to the order in which they arrived, not the order most convent to the staff!

Disappointed in the Cracker Barrel. Food was cold and service was slow. It was 1:30 in the afternoon and only about 8 tables were filled…

This Cracker Barrel is absolutely the best! Every time we eat here our server is so kind and personable. The managers are always dressed very professional and active in the dining room. Sometimes the wait can be long, but totally worth it! Best breakfast place in Denton!

This Cracker Barrel is a busy one. Are all Cracker Barrels the exact same inside? In terms of décor? Because they all have the same everything else with the fireplace right in the middle divide between dining spaces and they have that horrible nightmare table right behind the host station with the round table. Well this place is nice and fast and in a really nice location on the frontage road by I35 and 380/University. For real, it’s easy to loop around under the highway and zip over, OR you can find all kinds of neat ways to cut through the hotel parking lot and all that. I like the cheesy hashbrowns and chicken fried steak.

Breakfast is the best time to go. But they do serve from there breakfast menu all day so if you want to eat breakfast at 7am or 7pm they got you covered. If you go for breakfast on the weekend be prepared for a wait. But you can shop in the cute little country store while you wait or if the weather is right rock in one of their menu rocking chairs.

The building inside and out very well kept up, server staff very friendly and service focused. The olé timer breakfast was probably the best we ever had at any other Cracker Barrel we have been to. Probably would have rated five stars, however the cashier never asked how anything was and just waited for me to give her money. Funny how one person can stand out and make or break a dinning experience. Would recommend this place to all

Stopped in on our way back to Dallas. It’s Sunday around 10 o’clock and it’s very busy. But our weight was only about 15 minutes. We were greeted at our table by Sarah our waitress. She was very delightful. The food was basically what we would expect. Not bad but not over-the-top fantastic. We just had a really good time with the waitress she was great.

It’s Cracker Barrel… it is exactly what you would expect from one if you’ve ever been. The food is good, home cookin’ style food that sticks to your ribs and satisfies even the hungriest man. The service is always top notch as they really pride themselves on that. Bring the family or come alone. It’s always good to eat here. Don’t forget to get some shopping done in the«lobby» either. Candy, jams, toys, clothes they have it all.

Yummy what more could I say my husband and I had their new ribs and they were fall off the bone delicious and the apple cider bbq sauce a winner. Our waiter was very attentive and the service was superior. It’s a shame that the ribs will not be a regular menu item

Cracker Barrel never disappoints my family. The food is always great, especially breakfast, and service is fairly efficient. My service expectations are sub par when I walk in though, because it’s Cracker Barrel, not Capital Grille. Breakfast is definitely the favorite in my house and you just can’t go wrong with breakfast here. Be prepared to wait for a while on Sat/Sun mornings… everyone else loves breakfast here too.

Chicken and Dumplings is one of my favorites. This particular location has quite a few servers with lots of stars on their aprons, which means they have low turnover, which is a good thing.

A very consistent chain across all the locations regardless if the part of the country you are in. Their breakfast is one of my favorites, especially the hashbrown casserole. The staff is friendly here. Seat yourself in the morning can be a little confusing since they leave the host on duty sign up.

We had two servers for our group and they were very good — so friendly. One person at the table received some uncooked chicken fried chicken and they sent the manager out to apologize. It took her awhile to get her food(everyone else was pretty much done by the time she got hers) but they genuinely seemed horrified about serving raw chicken. We ended up staying awhile at our table and I never felt rushed either. The food was meh. I ordered hamburger steak? I don’t know what they call it but that’s what I call it. I added grilled peppers, onions and mushrooms to it. Mashed potatoes and gravy came with the meal along with something else that I don’t even remember. It also cost me extra… my meal ended up being more pricey than I think it was worth. I think… if you’re looking for a home-cooked-like meal, you might like this place(emphasis on «like»). I’ll have to venture back before I seal the deal on my opinion here. Next time I want to try the breakfast — one of my buddies had the pancakes and she really likes the breakfast so that may be where its at.

I say I was really disappointed today. I have never left a Cracker Barrel unhappy but today I did. We were sat right on top of other people with plenty of other tables open next to the area. Our server took the wrong order and put in a hamburger steak instead of the Hamburger and then just brought a burnt bun. I have always ordered the chicken and dumplings and fries and they always put them separate so the fries dont get soggy and gross. That was not the case today. My fries were covered in the dumplings and were so soggy. Not to mention the hard crunchy only god knows what that was in the chicken breast. Our server didn’t even seem to care. I will not be returning for a while and when I do it will NEVER be this location again.

Over thirteen years ago I moved to Dallas, Texas… I know, it’s been a long, strange and sometimes even entertaining trip. On the roadtrip down to Texas with my brother in tow, we passed though many states and ate at many restaurants. We saw Shoney’s and Awful House and of course the occasion Denny’s and IHOP. High quality food at all places I assure you. When we started to hit southern states we saw Cracker Barrel. Didn’t know what it was at the time. We never made it in to actually eat at the one we went to in Virginia. We were enamored with the whole«gift shop» area. It wasn’t anything we had seen before with a restaurant. Old time candy, shirts, novelties. I picked up some Coca-Cola knick-knacks. I don’t remember what my brother purchased. So this leads me to many years later and only my second visit to a Cracker Barrel. I was with my kiddo and we went for lunch. They had specials, we ate… I will say the biscuits were really, really good. I don’t really recall the food itself being anything to write home about. But it was a good atmosphere and my server was very helpful with any needs I had for my daughter. As I’ve mentioned before, with so many places in Denton to eat, it’s hard to make it back to places. Granted this isn’t a place that I need to rush back to, but I’m sure I will pay them a visit again, even if it is for the cool gift shop.

Fantastic place for some southern style home cookin! They’ve got it all, from breakfast samplers to country dinners. I’ve never been disappointed with anything I’ve ordered and can always rest assured that I’ll leave stuffed. The pricing is a great deal for all the side options included. Just make sure to try the hashbrown casserole and/or mac’n’cheese…and plan on left overs! The waitstaff is hit or miss. On almost every previous visit I’ve been stuck with«oh, it’s my first day» waitress. They typically forget half of what I order and go MIA for half hours at a time. But the kitchen ensures the food makes it out quickly and you can normally beg for some help from a more seasoned server. This past visit, however, we had a wonderful experience with Thom… So at least there’s hope! This place gets PACKED on Sundays around lunch time, so be prepared to wait at least 30 mins during the rush. You can browse around the country store to kill some time, but when it’s that busy you’re elbow-to-elbow with the crowd of hungry churchgoers shoved next to breakables, so movement should stay limited. If you do have time(and the space) to shop, you can normally find quite a few good sales going on and some unique trinkets. I’ve found a lot of great and totally random Christmas or birthday gifts there, esp. if you’re shopping for a woman or kid. Shopping AND feasting in one place… two birds, one stone!
