Good food. Good price. I typically get the Lamb Korma which is very tasty. My wife gets Chicken Tikka and really enjoys it. We have been several times and have always had good experiences. The staff is friendly and attentive.

This place is a great for anyone who wants to try or is craving indian food in Denton. Unfortunately, Denton does not boast many indian restaurnts, and let me tell you… this place gets the job done. I would recommend the lunch buffet from 11 – 2; It’s about $ 11.99 + tax. The price tag is a little higher than other areas. Tandoori chicken is always so juicy.

Staff help was there, not bad but not good. Decoration was fairly standard, with 3 TVs blazing Indian music. Food was hit or miss, also it seemed to be warmed up, some of it was just plain room temperature.

Will take the time to explain the Vegan options. I have an hour to travel so they will pack it for me to travel and have told me how to cook it at home so it’s got the fresh taste! So I’m my own delivery man and cook and guest at my table to eat in! My wife will love this!!!

This is a hard rating to give because parts are great and parts are bad. Starting with the great. 5 stars for food. Today I ordered Gobi Manchuria, extra spicy. It was perfectly cooked and beyond delicious. It was crispy on the outside and nice and soft in the middle. It had a great flavor and really spicy. You can tell they know what they are doing in the kitchen. Most things I have had here are good. 1 star for customer service. Not friendly. I called in my order and after I paid the guy said«that’s your food over there.» Instead of getting it for me I went off to find it. 1 star for price. While the Gobi was delicious they charged me $ 8 for a small container. Way overpriced for what you get. Anyways, good food if you are in the area and wanting Indian food. Just be prepared to spend some good money. They also have a buffet and its around $ 11. There is another Indian restaurant across street, but I have heard it’s not good. Never been though

Excellent Indian food! So excited to have a place like this in Denton. It’s hard to find good Indian food anywhere, especially in a smaller place like this but these guys are great.

We went there for lunch and was surprised at the lack of service and sub par food. The salad bar was non existent(pics attached) and the food was too less. The price is way too high for the amount of food served. We had to hunt across the room to procure our own silver ware and kept begging the waiter(who clearly was not interested in being there) for water etc. An elderly gentleman just sat there and watched what everyone ate or took. We saw a pot of tea and asked for tea cups upon which the waiter brought out two although we were a group of four people. Reluctantly he went back for more cups with a sour face. Every thing had to be prompted and we are never going back!

Being new to the Denton area, I decided to try new restaurants around UNT and I do not for one minute regret trying Bawarchi! Everything that was put out for the lunch buffet was flavorful and delicious. Although the price is a bit high at around 11 dollars, the fresh naan was worth it. Each time the naan ran out they’d bring out fresh buttered batch and it was heavenly. They didn’t refill any of the buffet items after they ran out, other than the naan of course but I’m not really complaining. I’m definitely going back soon.

I’ve been here three times for the lunch buffet. Same experience all 3 times so consistency is good, I suppose. I’m a female who eats alone and I pretty much get ignored, but that is okay by me. The buffet is okay, not bad and not fantastic. The food is tepid(not very warm — temperature wise) but it’s fast, quiet, and filling. I usually come in about noon or 12:30 so there is still some good food left but once they run out, they don’t «refill» those options. Also when I pay, I feel like they are glad that I am leaving. I just keep to myself and read my newspaper while I eat. I go because it’s the closest place to get Indian food in Denton and it’s fast. I would go again if a craving strikes but I wouldn’t go out of my way to go back if it’s not totally convenient. So yeah, it’s OK.

I haven’t had their briyani but I can assure you that their curies are good. Although the rice that can come with the curry is either stale or too dry so I wouldn’t recommend getting rice but their naan is good. I also tried their mango lassi and it’s so good and sweet like the typical mango lassi with its thick texture. Service was quite alright but you do have to track the waiter down. All in all its a good Indian restaurant, I don’t know what of these negative reviews but yeah~ oh and the prices here are a bit ridiculous with the small portion you get but luckily it filled me up with out having to waste anything.

Worst meal ever and service was horrible and me and my wife both got sick. Did I say overpriced also. Never wrote a review but had to. Yuck yucky!!!

I am glad I decided to check this place out. Although I wasn’t expecting much, I was pleasantly pleased with the lunch buffet. The food tasted home made and fresh. I was delighted to find menu items that are not usually found in other Indian restaurants that cater to a non-Indian clientele. Instead of the overdone chicken tikka masala on the buffet, we found a chicken curry which tasted delicious. We also enjoyed seeing items from South India(beans aviyal, upma, vindaloo). The chutneys and gulab Jamuns tasted delicious! Overall, we really enjoyed our meal(although we would have preferred the food to be warmer). We’ve been to Indian restaurants all over the DFW area and frequently cool it at home and yet found this restaurant to be a good one. Will definitely be going back for more!

I’d been extremely impressed the two times I’d been here before this evening, and I want them to stay open, so I’ll probably remove this review eventually, but tonight was probably the second worst dining experience I’ve ever had. I was dining with two friends and their food came out perfectly, my food didn’t come out at all. The food runner said nothing about why he hadn’t brought me anything and it didn’t appear anyone was checking on it, so finally, when my friends were half finished, I had to GETUPANDGOTOTHEREGISTER to ask about my food. They acted like it wasn’t forgotten and it was still coming. A while later, one of my friends had to flag a server down again and ask about my food, the server said«two more minutes.» Two minutes passed, still no food. He came by again and said«two more minutes.» At that point, my friends had finished their meals and I told the server to forget about it. Would you like to know how they resolved it? They comped nothing except the food I didn’t get and didn’t apologize at all when we paid. I have worked in many restaurants, and the appropriate way to handle such a situation is to box the food up(since it was supposedly two minutes from being ready anyway, and was going to go to waste), and give it to me for free. I love the food(sure wish I could’ve had some tonight), so I will likely be back, but OHMYGOD I AMPISSED.

Truly dreadful. Any positive reviews come from either people who don’t know about Indian cuisine, or were written before it was sold to the current owners. Cooks aren’t Indian, and don’t know what they are doing. Just disgusting. Radio across the street is a thousand times better.

The food was definitely not BAD, but for $ 10.99 for a buffet, I expected a lot more choices and higher quality. I’ve been to another Indian buffet where it was much less expensive and many more options and much tastier. The fact that there was no tikka masala or butter chicken was disappointing, and it seemed like a lot of things didn’t have labels over them in the right place to tell what it was. There was only one guy working as a server/register/busboy for the whole place and maybe 1 or 2 in the kitchen, so service was pretty meh. If you’re craving Indian food and can’t wait, maybe get some take out. Or try Rasoi Indian Kitchen across the street(I haven’t yet, but that will be my next adventure). But I wouldn’t spend $ 10.99 on the buffet again, that’s for sure.

Small and simple buffet line. The lunch buffet is cheap and the food is great! Fresh with a variety of dishes to chose from including vegetarian options. The staff are always kind and helpful. Lemon bayleaf rice and chic pea dish are my go to along with the marinated chicken.

I love this place. They have great veg options and everything I’ve had was great. I love the pakoras, Channa Masala, Kadai Channa, Masala Dosa, Paper Dosa, Gobi 65(I think contains soy sauce — beware celiacs), Aloo Gobi, and papadams! I do not know for sure what type of oil or butter they use, but as far as I know it’s vegan. The veg fried rice does contain butter, but plain rice is vegan. Love love love it. Only complaint is that I wish they carried dosas all day, but I know they are a pain to make.

Overpriced and the worst indian buffet I ever have been to. They didn’t have any of the go to Indian dishes in the buffet. There was no Chicken Tikka Masala, No Butter Chicken, No Saag Paneer, Not even the traditional desserts — no rice pudding and and none of the donut hole type dumpling things(not sure what you call those). All the food looked low quality. Just moved from California to this area and was trying to find an Indian place. It’s one redeeming quality was the atmosphere and Bollywood TV going which I liked, but the food was the worst indian food I’ve ever had. The rice was dry. The buffet items were not well stocked. I waited for almost an hour for them to re-fill some of the items. They didn’t take the plates from the table quickly. The Mango Lassi was very good and perhaps if you ordered A La Carte maybe the quality would be higher. When considering ethnic cuisine, the ethnicity of the chefs is key. From what I could tell the only Indian person there was the one at the cashier. All the chefs seemed to be hispanic. If it was a Mexican restaurant I’d like Mexican chefs. Call me a purist, but if I’m eating italian food, I’d rather have an italian making it, same with Chinese, Thai or whatever. If I’m eating Indian food, I want an Indian chef. The quality was just very low. Will not return. Maybe will try Rasoi across the street. It seemed like they have some of the Indian dishes I like. No point going to a buffet if they have so few dishes.

The only reason I go here is because it’s one of the few Indian places in Denton, and I just absolutely crave Indian sometimes. The food isn’t bad, the service is meh. Every time I go there’s one guy serving everyone, and he’s nice, but seems so timid. I kind of feel bad for him, honestly, because it seems like he’s doing EVERYTHING, even though there’s a woman working also. The woman isn’t very helpful, and has a «I can’t be bothered with this» attitude. If Rasoi isn’t serving what you want that day, and you HAVE to have Indian food, I would recommend this place. Otherwise, no. Just no.

I don’t know what the other reviewers are complaining about… I’ve been here twice and both times I was pleasantly surprised. Although it looks a little shady(it’s located in a shopping center behind UNT’s Maple Hall), the service is good and the food is always piping hot and delicious. My only point, arrive in the middle of the lunch service. 11AM and they’re not ready, 2:30 and they’ve already started closing up. The naan, when they make it(they will not make it at 2:30) is warm and buttery and my favorite thing. Try the gobi masala and the tandoori chicken!
