The pizza here is always good, the ambience is relaxed and the service is great. This is our pizza hangout when we visit Delray Beach.

So i received a coupon in the mail…$ 10.00 off your next meal. Looked good so i finally went to honor it. When i got there, i specially asked the waitress if i could use the coupon on my meal. She said yes. So i ordered and ate. When it came to to pay the bill, she says, ‘Oh, the coupon has to be for $ 30.00 or more” So what a bummer!!! Here I am expecting to pay a little and come back again, not i do not think i will ever go back there. If you go, make sure your«specials» are for real. Otherwise you might be in for a bit of a surprise. Thats all i’m saying.

SERVICE: Fair disclaimer. I was in a slight rush … meaning I wanted to get my food… eat it. and leave with in an hour’s time. Is that asking for too much? My friends and I waited some time for service. then we all had our food, except for one friend who was waiting on their burrito. There was no communication to us. just an agonizing 10 – 15 minute wait as we awkwardly sat around.wondering. We all gobbled up our food and then again waited some more for our check. We waited so much that we ended up finding the to-go boxes on our own at a server station. We had our cards/cash ready and waiting and were tempted to walk up to the server to see if we could pay. That’s how many times she walked by and we continued to wait. FOOD: Delicious. I had a vegan calzone with mushrooms. Food was delivered hot and had a good amount of cheese(Daiya I believe) to dough ratio. I didn’t have any beer. I wish I had. maybe it would be a happier experience with the service. but they seem to have a nice selection on tap.

I really like mellow mushroom, like everything about the place. You would think by the name it would be a hipster or hippy type place, but it’s not. Well, the décor creates the atmosphere but the crowd is your average casual group of people. The serves are awesome, from the second I walked in the door until I walked back out, I was greeted, promptly attended to and given a farewell. Refills were quick, our server was helpful with specials and ideas on how to get the best bang for our buck. The drinks. Sunday has bottomless mimosas and bloody Mary’s for $ 12. I’m not a fan of wine or liquor, I’m more a craft beer fan. Now while I would have loved to see more of a local selection, there was still a huge list to choose from, both bottled and draft. I went with my goto wells banana bread to start, and continued with sea cow milk stout from saltwater brewery. Onto the food, the main reason for coming to mellow mushroom. Of course I found 18,000 things I wanted to try(well not 18,000 but I had a really hard time choosing). Sandwiches, salads, pizza, burgers and appetizers all sounded amazing on the menu. But since I was in the mood for pizza, it narrowed my chooses down to 3. I was going to get 3 small specialty pies but when I talked to the server she advised me I could split a large pizza into 2 specialty halves. Awesome! So I settled on ordering a large pizza with half philosophers and half funky q. I loved both! On the funky q’s(which is sort of a bbq chicken pizza) everything blended together great and was by far my favorite. Now the philosophers was unique, I never tried anything like it before and I was impressed. I will be back here many more times to try more items from the menu. I’m really mad it took me so long to finally come here.

Love the Mellow Mushroom and especially this location. Great vibe. Good service and I have yet to meet a hoagie or pie I did not like. Last night we tried the Meatball Ricotta pizza. It was really good. Not too much sauce. I hate when the tomato sauce is overpowering. This was a great balance of ricotta cheese, tomato and meatball. Of course you can’t go wrong with our stand by — The Philosopher’s Pie.

We started off with drinks, which they have a large selection of beers. We started with the bruchetta and friends had pretzels. Both were great. We had the Mushroom pizza with pesto and added fresh mozzarella(amazing), our friends had the other mushroom pizza(I forgot the name). Cant wait to return. Super friendly staff and great atmosphere. If you are not a fan of the heat or bugs I suggest eating indoors.

Is it good pizza? Sure. Is is great pizza? No. One thing I can say for sure — it is one of the most overrated pizza places. But, that’s par for the course in FL. There are very few great pizza restaurants here so take what’s available. As far as pizza goes for the area? I’ll drive down the street to either Anthony’s or Windy City before going to Mellow. Great beer spot though!

I really enjoyed this place from both a food and ambience perspective. Even though we sat outside, make sure to check out the inside which is basically a tribute to the Woodstock/British Invasion era. The Thai Dye Shrimp Salad was an excellent choice. I also tasted my nephew’s Meatball Ricotta Pizza and it was crispy, fresh, and delicious. We shared the soft pretzels as an appetizer and it was also a hit.

The pizza is delicious however in my opinion that’s all you should have here; as the chef does not pay attention to detail when it comes to anything else.(The shrimp Thai salad) in particular was absolutely disgusting as I was served uncooked shellfish on my bed of greens. I brought this to the waiters attention and the manager apologized and stated how unacceptable it was for me to be presented with this poor excuse of a meal. She however didn’t see it acceptable to discount the bill accordingly. Not sure if I’ll be eating here again. — signed. Displeased customer

Love this place! Pizza is always cooked to order, we like ours crispy, and double sliced. The management is always walking around checking on everyone. Great happy hour prices on drinks and if that’s not good enough on Mondays at 5:00 large specialty pizzas are half price. Very clean, and great atmosphere!

Can’t resist the delicious gluten-free, dairy-free pizza, topped with lots of meat, a combo so hard to locate in real life. Thank goodness for Mellow Mushroom! Always an interesting selection of interesting local craft beer on rotating drafts. Cheerful, helpful staff. One of our pizzas had apparently been overcooked, so our server told us that the chef was making a new one. No problem! Thanks for letting us know. Very friendly manager offered me a membership in their beer club. Seems smaller and more intimate than the Fort Lauderdale location. Love the quirky décor. Sign up online for coupons via email.

Absolutely stop in for a meal if you’re near one of these. Mellow Mushroom is a great bar and eatery. The one in Delray Beach has a nice outdoor patio to sit and sip your choice of over 50 taps of beer. The menu offers gluten free options and I ordered the ‘cheese pizza’ with added bacon. I had enough for a next day reheat. Cute spot, good service, quality eats. I give it a yup !

Draft IPA from Due South Brewery. Really good. Has a light, floral note to it. Had the Red Skin Potato Pie(pizza) and a create your own salad with house Balsamic Vinaigrette. You can never go wrong with this dressing choice. The meatball ricotta pizza is very good. The meatball pieces are garlicky but good. They by far have one if the best pizza doughs around. The portobello mushroom reuben on rye roll is good. The oven roasted potatoes are very good. I recommend the beer sampler(4 for $ 7) To be honest I have never had anything here that I didn’t like.

Pizza and wings are ok. They have a lot of topping options. It’s a good place for families. Except when FSU football is on then the place is packed! They have a large selection of beer. I personally prefer Luigi’s pizza which is a few blocks away from this location. We had the pretzel appetizer it was ok. Nothing great. Then we had a pepperoni pizza. The crust is thick and doughy. The sauce is overly spiced, it kind of tastes like tomato paste or frozen pizza sauce.

Molasses — the one ingredient that sets Mellow Mushroom’s crust apart from most others. All the pizzas come with the same crust, except for the gluten-free version. I just found out tonight that customers can request their crust on any pie to be thinner, but using the same dough. The MM in downtown Delray is usually a busy place, and deservedly so, as the pizza is arguably the best in town. Most of the specialty pizzas have mellow, hippified names like Kosmic Karma, Magical Mystery Tour, and Thai Dye. Outstanding in flavor, it’s obvious they were very well thought out. The whole ambiance has a hippie vibe. There are 50 taps at the bar. They have a huge selection of draft and bottled beers, and even have a beer club. The bar is popular, and quite often crowded. I added two beers to my Beer Club card, the Miami Gator Tail GLS, and the Mexican Standoff. I’ve been told that once I try 100 of the beers I will get a T-Shirt, at 500 I will get a polo shirt, and when I get to 1,000 beers I will receive 20% off my total order for life. I’ve only got 986 left to go. And it doesn’t hurt that most of the servers and barmaids are adorable young hotties. It keeps married men secretly scanning the room from the corners of our eyes. Michna(pronounced Meesh-na) was our server tonight. She was well worth the $ 10 tip we left her.
