Everything they sell is amazing. I’ve bought hams, sausage, jerky, bacon, smoked pork chops, sandwiches. Never had anything less than perfect. Ground bacon is great in burgers.

Man, I love this place. My family lives in Michigan, so in my life I’d driven past at least 50 times, and we never stopped. I’m glad I know how awesome it is now, but bummed I missed out on it for so long! And now, they are open YEARROUND! We first stopped in on a trip to Michigan this summer, and just checked it out and got some landjaeger(think high-class Slim Jim) — so delicious! Then, we stopped on the way back for more. We’ve been a few more times, and we get more and more each time we go(but we ALWAYS get landjaeger). The bacon is think and smokey and so fantastic. Their summer sausage, beef links, etc are all really good– very different from what you’d get at any regular store. Everyone here is super friendly– it’s a must stop if you’re heading north on 23!

Only open October to May, this family run place has the absolute beast sausages and meats. Processed on site from their farm, everything is fresh and delicious. Ive got the best smoked bacon I ever had from this place. Off the beaten path, but a «must go to» place if you are in the area. Make it a day trip, and shoot up to the G&R Grill in Waldo for their killer bologna sandwich.

I have been passing this place on our way up North since I was a kid. You’ll see the signs along the way. It’s a cute little shop with a variety of meats. We purchased bacon, Italian sausage and fudge. Bacon was very good! Wasn’t as fatty as some you find in the grocery and cooked was a substantial slice. What’s better than bacon? The Italian sausage was ok, used in a homemade tomato sauce and pasta bake. I ended up eating around the meat, didn’t add anything to the dish. Fudge was made in by try’s and realized at home it was pretty pricey for the ounces. I’d go back for the bacon!

I don’t know what it is about this place — I swear 90% of the time we drive by this place it’s closed. And then I am sad. Because they hype you up for it — as you’re driving down/up 23, they have these signs — «Sausage. Pork chops. Cheese…» One by one they give you a reason to stop by. And then we drive by. And it’s closed. I don’t know if it’s because we head up to the in-laws at weird hours or we’re just unlucky, but it’s a bittersweet feeling when we drive by this place. Bitter ’cause it’s closed. Sweet because I know I won’t spend all my money. :-) They have fresh pork products and prepared pork products and some really kickass beef jerky. We’ve had sausage, beef jerky, bacon, and pork chops — they’re all good and much better than any grocery store variety. If you’re driving by and they’re open — STOP.

It’s the perfect Sunday destination. Ma Wilson’s is open from October until May, and features a large variety of homemade country sausage and other products. My wife and I just got back with $ 50 worth of goodies at this family owned farm store about 45 minutes north of the city. At first we thought the prices were a bit steep, but we ended up with brats, garlic balogna, pepper-cheese loaf, swiss cheese, cheese spread, two kinds of jerkey, snack sausage, and more. Not a bad haul for a place that does it all themselves, does it very well, and has been doing it for generations. We will definitely be back. We will definitely bring our guests. We will definitely tell our friends.
