Coffee was excellent, the 2 young ladies were helpful, but I can’t get around a few things: Some strange saying on the chalkboard about the moon and sun making decisions when to move, The music was a bit creepy about lamb blood, and there were Bibles almost everywhere(anyone who actually read the first couple of books within knows what I’m talking about). This I cannot endorse. These people would never go into an establishment with Mein Kampf, the Koran, Fables, A Clockwork Orange, or a Good Man is Hard to Find. Violent books should not be around if you want your customers to feel at ease. Believe and enjoy whatever you like to endorse, but to have it spread around the place is distasteful. Anyone who says this is a good idea has never actually read the thing from cover to cover. Thumbs up on the Marie’s chocolates. Made elsewhere, but a good product to have.

Excellent place to sit down and chat with a friend/family over coffee. They also have locally made chocolates and candies. Very friendly owners and a real nice atmosphere. Just another great place that makes downtown Delaware such a quaint place to live in and/or visit. Please go here instead of the chains. You will not be disappointed. My latte was excellent and again super friendly service.

This is my go-to coffee shop. Great place to meet for coffee and conversation. Great chocolates too. And the nicest staff in town. On a nice day, sit outside in the back in the shaded outdoor seating area.

Great little coffee shop with reasonable prices. I ordered a caffe mocha blended and it was delicious. Also tried the almond biscotti with tons of almonds for $ 0.99! I will remember this place on my next trip to Delaware.

Definitely a hidden gem in the Delaware area. The only way I found them was by the public parking behind the main downtown area and that was because of a sign they have conveniently placed at their back entrance. They had me at confections, so I had to stop in and see what this little hole in the wall was about. The strong aroma of ground Coffee fills your nostrils as you enter in. Not really a coffee drinker, but it smelled delicious if that justifies anything to you real coffee drinkers. This place is teeny tiny, but enough space for a few regulars sitting on their laptops and reading the paper. There are spots to chill with a friend, but since we were just getting some chocolates we decided not to linger around. I’m assuming one of the owners helped us. She was very friendly and thanked us for coming in. While I was a little bit disappointed that this place does not grind their own coffee, nor is their chocolates made in house… It’s understandable and it was explained that they just do not have the space. and it’s true. The building is tiny and once you have the coffee, espresso machines and show cases. it leaves little work space. I’m giving them kudos and good stars, because they carry good quality stuff AND it’s all local. The coffee is from Mechanicsburg and the Chocolates are from MARIE’S over in West Liberty. AND ya’ll must know… Marie’s is my ultimate. número uno favorite chocolate EVER, so the fact I don’t have to drive all the way to West Liberty makes me one happy lady! I hope good things happen for this tiny coffee/confections spot.

A hidden gem in Delaware, and worth seeking out. Great coffee everything and teas as well. Secret info here: the owner told me they have 3 inline filters and therefore ‘no water taste’ and that makes everything wonderful. They have chocolates from a local favorite maker and about the only place to buy chocolates in the region. Total BONUS! homemade baked goods! Scones, oatmeal cake, berry breads, just awesome. It is really nice to have a family run place that beats the crappy chain places.

Choffey’s Coffee is a great coffee shop located in downtown Delaware, just off the main road on West Winter Street. Not only do they have great coffee, are open early for the morning crowd, and have chocolates and delicious sweets, but they have great ideas for gifts. I have regularly purchased pounds of premium coffee for friends, chocolates for special occasions, and other coffee accessories as gifts. Also an amazing place to sit and relax or have a meeting.

A nifty little shop tucked on the side street across from Buns, Choffeys’ offers a bunch of locally made products including coffees, tasty traditional chocolates, and flavored popcorn. This makes it perfect for gift giving. However, Choffeys is also a coffee shop with a nice variety of espresso drinks, tea, and smoothies. They also have a selection of fresh looking baked goods. This visit I gave a mocha a go. Not bad! There was plenty of foamy milk which gave it a rich, creamy texture without the need for a huge dollop of whipped cream. The space itself has a comfortable feel with wooden chairs and warm colors. I don’t know it’s a place you go and spend hours reading by yourself, but it’s great if you want to meet with some friends and have conversation over coffee. The hours can be a bit troublesome though — the place is pretty much always closed by the time I get home from work and they aren’t open very late on Saturday. However, if you get up a few minutes early, as Choffey’s opens at 7:00 in the morning, it’s not difficult to drop by on your way into the office. I imagine too that it’s great for folks who work in Delaware. The thing that makes Choffeys stand out for me though is the service. The lady working there(the owner I presume) was very helpful and friendly. She told me all about about the wares she sold, and offered to wrap the gift I was buying(no extra charge). She took her time with it too, giving consideration to the look of the ribbon used and such, and a number of other little details that will definitely bring me back when I need similar gifts in the future.

This is what I think of when someone says small town coffee shop. I’m a resident, and this is the best local coffee shop that comes to mind. The staff are professional and kind in all facets. They take the time to learn my name and smile when they see me around town. They have excellent customer service and the shop is always very clean, messes are cleaned up immediately and the workers take pride in their work. There is always a nice mix of customers from young professionals to grandparents with their grandchildren; it’s quiet enough to get work done or read but noisy enough to laugh and have conversation. Their products are amazing, honestly. The chocolates and candies are creatively and beautifully displayed and they taste phenomenal as well. I have never gotten anything from a display case that tasted bad or stale. They also offer milk alternatives, I drink almond milk and this is one of the few local shops that have almond milk on hand to make lattes. I drink chai lattes and tea and I rave about both. Their chai is the best I’ve ever had, and they have the biggest loose leaf tea selection in Delaware that I’ve seen(I’ve still not tasted all of them and I drink a new flavor every time I order). Choffeys is a wonderful representation of Delaware’s culture and offers only the best products, I highly recommend it to visitors and locals alike.

Best coffee place in Delaware, similar atmosphere to Mean Bean but much better coffee. Good prices, comparable or slightly cheaper than Starbucks.

Great little family run coffee and candy shop. Good solid cup of coffee available every day(dark and light roasts). Always friendly and fast. Tip: Try the dark chocolate turtles — amazing.

Love the coffee but the hot chocolate lacked that rich chocolate taste. We love the chocolates and the atmosphere.

Excellent small town coffee shop. As Delaware grows, I hope this place does well. Every community needs a location like this to meet, relax, and discover life’s pace. The space indoor space is very clean and spacious for reading/studying/working. The real gem on a nice day is the back patio. The espresso drinks are good. My only suggestion for Choffey’s would be to focus their coffee menu on the craft roasted beans rather than flavoring. Offering flavoring for drinks is great for customers who want that, but most coffee shops are beginning to find more value in selecting and marketing quality roasted beans rather overwhelming a drink with artificial flavors.

I’ve been to Choffey’s twice and each time it was great! The first time I got a blended Choffey’s Choice and it was so good – like a chocolate Chai. I also purchased some chocolates too(and being Marie’s candies), they were really good. The next time I got a Milky Way and it too was delicious! I also had my(small) dog with me the second time and they didn’t seem to mind at all. The shop is very inviting and comfortable and the owners are usually there and super friendly.

Choffey’s offers a collection of coffee and chocolates along with other confections from all over the state. The prices are right and the coffee is good. But I think my favorite part is that they can tell you who made the items they sell. Ask the barista at «local chain store» where the snacks were made and they are going to look at you like you ordered a «large». The only con that I have — and it has gotten better as Shelly and crew adapt — is that service can get backed up when they are making more elaborate drinks.

Great coffee and chocolate at really good prices. This is a hidden gem on Winter near the health department. Wonderful staff and excellent selections of both coffee and tea. Did I mention chocolate? Who needs chain coffee crap when the locals are always 1000x better?
