If you like ‘Whataburger’ these burgers are pretty much the exact same thing except cheaper. The curly fries are bomb.

Pretty good hamburger. As far as local burger joints go it doesn’t compare with Chris Madrids(San Antonio) or the Dubl-R(Waco), but worth a stop. Recommend getting it to go as there isn’t much dining room. You can buy a Spurs shirt while you are there too!

Salas better burger is by far the best restaurant I’ve been to. McDonald’s uses grease to capture customers, but this glorious restaurant captures the human eye with love. Loving this food. The inside is clean to the spot. This is the first restaurant I’ve seen that serves Coke and Pepsi. The workers are extremely generous and try to make your experience the best. Very sociable. Good job salas!

Best burger I’ve had in town. Great service too compared to what must be the normal poor service everywhere else.

Oh, YEAH! Just as good as the first time… no, wait… even BETTER! Wife and I made another trip to the casino, and, of course, Salas was on our list! Even after stopping at the WB in Uvalde, I waited for my SBB fix! Double with cheese and bacon for me, wife had their DELICIOUS grilled chicken salad on special! Everything was delicious again. I LOVE their tots! Unfortunately(I’m saddened to say this), unless we have business in Del Rio, we won’t be coming that way again. See my review on the Lucky Eagle. Might be making a trip to DR *just* for Salas… that I would do! Maybe I can convince Salas to open a satellite location here in San Antonio…

This came recommend by a guest at the hotel we were staying at. Burger came and fries came out in about 15 min. Good flavor on the burger, curly fries came out warm. I didn’t taste a wow factor from the burger, meat was over cooked and curly fries you can tell they came from a frozen bag. Nice little place with a good size menu, but for a place that specializes in burgers, I’ve had better.

Hands down BEST burgers in Del Rio! & their cheap! Their poppers are delicious, but you do get a few with chunks of oil soaked breading from time to time.

Outstanding, classic drive-in style burgers, fries, onion rings and etc. While the restaurant itself is a bit dated and dingy on the inside, the food is absolutely terrific, and the prices can’t be beat. There are always a lot of customers, but the counter service is pretty quick, and we’ve never NOT been able to find a seat. My personal favorite? Triple cheese burger with bacon, and the onion rings. Awesome, classic Americana comfort food. Definitely need to go to Salas Burger!

Stick with the burgers! We decided to order try the grilled chicken sandwich but it wasn’t a hit. The hamburger however is thin, nicely seasoned and tastes similar to In-N-Out. We ordered curly fries which came out nice and hot. The service was fast but didn’t lack a friendliness. At an affordable price you can enjoy a quality burger dressed with jalapeños, green onions and more.

I had complained that I couldn’t find a mom and pop shop for burgers until a friend introduced me to Salas’ today. I had driven by it before and wondered if the place was even open, so don’t let that deter you! The people taking our orders were so nice and we got our orders(bacon cheeseburgers + fries/onion rings) in way less than 10min despite the crowd! If you’re looking for healthy, keep looking… Their burgers and side items are quite greasy! It’s all so yummy though! I’ll definitely be back!

Quick review: this place is definitely worth a try. Good food, good service, nice home style atmosphere. Salas can be busy during lunch time. Reasonably priced, good portions. Long review: Let me start out with the actual establishment/employees: it’s a nice family owned business with surprisingly good hours of operation. The employees are nice and courteous and, to my liking, very to the point of serving you and getting to the next customer promptly. Food: the food here is quite good and I completely recommend it. The burgers are made after you order it so no McDonald’s or Burger King style burgers here. And the fries… I can’t say enough about how AMAZING the fries are. All in all the food is delicious with that home style feel to it.

Off the beaten path but well worth a visit. Had the third pounder with cheese and steak fries and a Texas fave Big Red for about $ 6. The burger was fresh and tasty and included all the necessary groceries making it a welcome party for my taste buds. The steak fries were cooked perfectly, crispy outside and fluffy goodness on the inside. There’s plenty of seating inside but beware, they do get very busy during the lunch rush. Very friendly and pleasant staff. A definite go back to place.

This is it ladies and gentleman. This is the finest dining establishment in Del Rio, TX. This place is really a four star, but I’m giving it five to balance out the reviews below. So first, the burgers. Amazing. They really have it figured out. I have never ordered a disappointing burger here. Two patties with bacon and all the fixings, you can’t go wrong. And cheap as too. You can feed two people here for $ 10 easy. The fries, curly fries, and tator tots are all excellent as well, although I’m partial to the curly fries. Second, the atmosphere. This is small border town dining at it’s finest. A small, greasy establishment with a few booths in the front and the back and a friendly staff. You can’t beat it. You can’t get a better burger within 150 miles, so why even try? Hit this place up for lunch or dinner and you won’t leave hungry. Great quality burgers and sides for an awesome price is a winner in my book. Trust me, coming from the east coast where good food is in abundance, I have been disappointed so many times dining out in Del Rio. This place does NOT disappoint.

I wish I came to Sala’s sooner — this place is easy to miss down the road. I always order the hamburger with french fries and it’s absolute heaven. Golden Peak tea is also available! Once I got sick from eating here(not sure what happened) but I still continued to eat there and it never happened again. Yes ladies and gentlemen, I got sick and I still ate there. It’s that good. Or I’m just insane. Have I mentioned how delicious the french fries are? HAVETHEFRIES! If you don’t have any cash on you they allow credit/debit card. Forget the three McDonald’s and and two Sonics they have in Del Rio, go to Sala’s.

I feel previous reviews were a bit harsh. I’m a del rio native and everytime I’m in town I stop by. The burgers are not extraordinary but they are of the freshest ingredients. I came with some of the pickiest eaters and they raved about how great the food was. My favevorite are the fries, they are a fried goodness with mashed potato insides.(drools). In all my years coming here the place hasnt changed much and it is pretty small but finding seating has never been an issue.

This place is absolutely amazing. The burgers are excellent with plenty of options for sides. I love to go here when I’m hungover for some greasy food. I usually get the jalepeno cheeseburger, and side of cheese stuffed jalapenos(I think they’re called jalapeño bombers) — stuffed with cheddar cheese instead of cream cheese. The food is very inexpensive, while the atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired. There are only a few tables, and they’re relatively small. The place looks like what you would expect from a small, greasy burger joint.

What happened Salas? I used to go get double burgers and curly fries from you all the time in high school. I recently moved back to town a few weeks ago and this is what happens? You really let yourself go!!! I took my father, who had never been, and was ranting and raving about how good your burgers were. You disappoint me. Used to be better burgers now you are on the same level as the local Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill and Bar. Generic meat and fries that stayed in the fryer too long.

At SBB they serve burgers and not much else, though it’s not necessarily a bad thing — speciality usually produces a superior product. Located South of the train tracks in downtown Del Rio, this burger joint is as understated as you can get — a small little building on the corner with some booths inside and some tables outside; it possesses that greasy atmosphere that lets you know that all diets need to abandon all hope once passing through the door. Upon ordering one of their titular«better burgers», I was presented with a thin, flat patty of no more than 2 – 3 oz on a plain white bun. The meat was juicy and just a little crispy around the edges — a very nice thing, indeed. Topping the burger was a couple of roma tomato slices and chopped lettuce and onions. A slice of American cheese also adorned my bun. For my side I enjoyed what was possibly the crunchiest onion rings I have ever put in my mouth. I doubt they were homemade, but at the very least they were well-cooked. I wanted to like SBB more than I did — several recommendations from friends combined with the local atmosphere of downtown Del Rio made me excited to find another great local eatery, but when it comes down to it, the product was very ordinary — aside from the adept use of the grill, the burger was more similar to what I would expect to get at a cookout, not a restaurant, right on down to the Wal-Mart napkins they put into your take-out bag. It’s good, but I think there are other, better burgers to be had in Del Rio.
