Just like any other Rudys, good BBQ. This isn’t the best location I’ve been too, however. Sometimes the chopped sandwich is all gooey and soggy like they made it a few hours before and let it sit, so all the oil soaked into the bun. Del Rio service, I guess…

Ok, I’m not from the area, but getting dinner from the gas station is not what I call good eats, until now. Was in town for work and asked the hotel concierge(front desk attendant) for dinning suggestions, when he pointed across the street to the gas station, to be honest I thought he was joking, or at least maybe he knew the owner and was pushing business his way. Well that first night I didn’t take the advice and went so a nice little Mexican restaurant. I was there for a week so after a few days I sort of ran out of new choices and gave in to see if the attendant was pulling my leg. I got several different items to sample the menu. All were decent till I tried the beef brisket moist. I must be an amateur cause I never heard of being able to order it moist, but consider me converted, it was delicious. The next night I went to the grocery store picked up some tortillas and a six pack, went back to Rudy’s just ordered Brisket moist and had me a fantastic meal. By the way, all came well under the company meal budget.

First time to a Rudy’s. I wasn’t too disappointed. The pulled pork wasn’t fresh but it was good. The wet brisket was good but everything needed bar-b-que sauce. The corn was terrible. But the shock top was great.

First let me start by saying BBQ is one of my favorite foods and visiting Del Rio I was told to check this place out as the food was«the best BBQ in Del Rio». Well sad fact is if this is the best it leaves alot to be desired. My order consisted of the fully loaded baked potato topped with brisket and a whole sausage link. Unfortunately the sausage far exceeded the bland tasting brisket I thought Texas was known for brisket this tasted closer to cardboard than brisket not to mention they are a little pricey for bbq… won’t be returning anytime soon

Delicious! The restaurant was very organized and very clean. The service was spectacular. A very friendly staff. My husband and I had the lean brisket and we loved it so much that we took one pound to go.

Great, have been looking forward to eating at a rudys coming to texas. I guess it was just hyped up and it was great but not awesome like when i came three years ago.

Rudy’s is good at best and very bad at worst. Avoid the ribs, most often they are too salty and too fatty(see pic). It cost about $ 14 for three ribs that were 20% good meat and 80% fat and bone. The turkey and pork loin are good(sometimes much too dry). The jumbo loaded potato and I think pretty much most of the sides are decent. But one does not come a Texas BBQ place for sides alone, and to be restricted to turkey and pork lion it just not acceptable. I would like to say there are better BBQ places to eat in town but there are not, your best option to to fire up your own grill. Trust me, even if you don’t BBQ much it will likely be much, much better than what you can get from Rudy’s.

It would be nice if they offered some paper plates. Eating off of waxed paper on a table that may or may not be clean is not my idea of a decent restaurant. Overall, the food was edible. The brisket had zero flavor and tasted more like a pot roast. I went in with four coworkers and the server wanted to stuff all of our meals into one tray. Everything got mixed up and we eventually didn’t receive a couple items. The pulled pork was tasteless as well. This is Texas and there are so many great BBQ places that this one is very disappointing. My coworkers weren’t very impressed either. We won’t be going back.

Outstanding food, with great quality and quantity for the price. Customer service is terrific, and the restaurant is very clean. Whether for breakfast(I love the brisket breakfast tacos), lunch or dinner, Rudy’s is THE go-to restaurant in Del Rio. And, for those people that are active duty military, Rudy’s offers 20% discounts on Mondays. Caution: if you order the fully loaded baked potato(with brisket topping) don’t order anything else; it’s a meal unto itself! The potato salad is AWESOME, as is the freshly made sweet tea.

Well, I am not crazy about meat diet but I should really mention about their customer service. We were greeted by this one girl who took us to the counter and she explained us how things worked at this restaurant. She was very friendly and polite, also energetic. The food is a little pricey but we liked what we ate there. If you live in town, you should definitely check it out at least once. It’s fun and a casual environment.

My fiancé and I have had pleasant experiences at this restaurant. A fun atmosphere and most importantly, friendly staff that are accommodating and helpful. The food has always been fresh. We order the baked potatoes often and they come out piping hot. I recommend trying the green chili stew. It’s loaded with meat, potatoes and veggies and has a smoky heat.

I absolutely love Rudy’s BBQ, however this particular location was not as good as the other locations I’ve enjoyed. The ambiance was great and the method of serving was clever as usual. I ordered the moist brisket, creamed corn, green chili stew, and the cobbler(my standard Rudy’s order). The brisket was satisfying, though not as flavorful as usual. The corn was delicious, but just a tad watery/thin. The green chili stew was spot on: flavorful with a little kick to it. The cobbler here was probably the worst of any of the Rudy’s I’ve been to; a little too soggy and not that fresh. I’m sure this is one of the best BBQ joints in Del Rio, so I recommend it if you’re in the area, but if you want the«standard» awesome Rudy’s experience I suggest going to the San Antonio or Colorado Springs locations.

The ambiance at this place is great. Large tables to share. The cartons to carry your food is very clever. The cream of corn had great flavor but was a little to watered down, not thick enough. The pulled pork sandwich was also decent. Seemed to have a little mustard flavor. I’m sure this BBQ place is one of the better spots in Del Rio

One of the best barbecue chains I’ve visited. Better than Famous Dave’s, Red Hot and Blue, Dockets, or Moe’s. Really shines with the sandwiches which are a good value served on a slighted toasted bun which is great for keeping the above average sauce in place. Morning breakfast tacos were also great. Only weak aspect for me were the ribs. I’ve heard others praise them, but they were a bit too fatty for me to fully enjoy.

Summer trip 2014, and my daughter is my trusty sidekick on this road trip from Cincinnati, to sw Texas. Rudy’s has turned into her favorite place for smoked meat. Drive thru convenience is my favorite part of Rudy’s. ½ pound moist brisket and a side of Rudy’s beans for lunch brought a huge smile of satisfaction for my daughter who embraces her carnivorous side. The green chile stew has remained my usual order, and there hasn’t been an order I didn’t enjoy. One trip to Rudy’s found five cars at the drive-thru, and not much room for another car to queue in line. Our vehicle, along with another families were greeted by a worker taking our orders by hand, and directing us to wait in the gas lanes. Our waits were about 5 minutes long, and the friendly server rewarded us with our hot, tasty food, which made the wait not much of a issue. It seems Del Rio is happy to have Rudy’s, and while you can find better bbq elsewhere, for fast, and good, Rudy’s in this town takes care of the need. *It would help if the server taking orders by hand, and running orders out would be able to hand out correct change to eliminate additional wait time.

Stopped in twice during brief business trip. Had a baked potato with pulled pork that was massive and only 6.50. Tasted great too. Stopped in for breakfast tacos in the am and was equally impressed. Freshly made and a great price. Food consistently good and fastest service I have received in DR. Not to mention friendliest. I recommend them highly.

This was my first Texas BBQ and well worth if after driving 6,000 miles to get here.(Vancouver Canada to Progreso mexico and then to Del Rio Texas.) First of all, the guy who complained about no plates… that’s the point. I want my BBQ on butcher paper smothered in sauce. If I wanted a china plate and silverware I would go to a French restaurant. The experience was first class. The hosted showed me around and how to order and even gave me samples of the smoked meat to help me decide. I had ½ pound lean brisket, a beer and a side salad. Great price, and nice ambiance. This customer from Canada is happy.

The good: Great food and great prices. The Brisket is fantastic and a it is really inexpensive. Our party of five adults ate very well for just over $ 30. The bad: Sort of petty but real plates, or even plates at all, would be nice. You couldn’t really spend any less money on the plastic dinnerware they use. Wet wipes at the table would be a nice addition. It can be messy, but it is delicious.
