I went NIU100 years ago… ok, so the late 90s and I remember one thing about this place… they had the cinnamon & sugar beer nuggets! I remember visiting one other time after I left school there, and I went again last night for a work event with the NIU Law School. Our event was held in a room in the basement, it’s a cute little room for an event or party. I was thrilled to try their beer nuggets & pizza once again! I even saved this visit as my weekly«cheat» meal! Totally worth it! The parmesan beer nuggets & the cinnamon & sugar ones are awesome! Seriously, one could have an entire meal with these alone! So good! The pizza is a very thin crust, but VERY tasty! The service was good, and here’s the best part(besides the beer nuggets) … the price! The overall price for a large group for beer nuggets, pizza, wine, beer & pop was VERY affordable! I suggest having your next party/event here just for that. I was eyeballing the menu, and you can get a glass of their tasty sangria for $ 3.50, can’t beat that!

Most pizza nights it is a tie between this and Vinny’s…but I usually always end up getting pizza villa. Their pizza sauce is amazing, perfect amount of seasoning and saltiness. Their pan pizza is my favorite and I am also a big fan of their breaded mushrooms. The service is great and delivery is speedy too for the time it takes to make the pan pizza.

Expensive to salty dough under cooked and greasy not the best a step above dominos and little Cesar’s but not by much.

I went there a week ago with family and I was not impressed. My table was filthy, the pizza literally had puddles of grease on it and the cheese would fall of while eating. My drink had floties of some sort in it. Our food took almost 40 minutes to even get to us. The place was dirty and the food was nasty. Will not be going back, I went home and was sick the rest if the evening

Hey… not bad at all. I was out in the great northwestern part of Illinois, Dekalb for a convention. Stopped in here after I read some good reviews. Their marinara sauce is made from scratch and is soooo delicious. You can taste every ingredient in that sauce, and it is heavenly. As for the pizza, traditional Chicago style, great thin crust, fresh veggies, and good pick of sausage(pause). Me likey! oh and I had the BESTSERVEREVER at this place. I believe her name was Ashley! She rocked a big order for us and was very attentive.

We like the taco pizza — its original. The crust is thin but leans on floppy so best to order it extra crispy. It’s a good place to bring a hige group as you can get the downstairs dining room. There’s games and fun stuff for the kids to keep happy.

PV is on my top 10 Chicagoland pizza places at number 6. The best sauce I’ve tasted overall and the crust is flaky and not to hard. Fun restaurant with space for groups and very family friendly. Bring quarters if you have kids and an empty stomach. Deals during the week make the fairly high prices tolerable. Usually a bit full so calling ahead is wise.

The biggest problem is the pizza crust, which is not real pizza dough. It’s more like a crumb crust. Service is good, poor beer and wine selection.

A very family oriented restaurant with a great atmosphere and yummy pizza! I came in on a Saturday night around 6pm and there was no wait. The restaurant is huuuuge which is nice! Plus there’s an arcade for kids downstairs. My boyfriend and I ordered 10 hot wings, breaded mushrooms and a 16″ thin crust with tomatoes, spinach and pepperoni. Our total was $ 36. Not bad considering that pizza was big enough for 3 – 4 people. Wings were okay – mostly bready and the hot sauce was more vinegary than spicy. Breaded mushrooms… a fair amount for the price… they were perfect and yummy! Pizza? So yummy!!! Crust was very crackery and not soggy at all from the sauce/toppings. It came out piping hot and just so delicious!!! The pepperoni had a touch of spiciness(just a warning if you don’t like this) and I really enjoyed the sauce – so fresh and tangy and well-developed. It would have been 5 stars if it weren’t for their weird payment system. You order right when you go in. You pay. Then you go to your table and then order your beverages.(Cheap beer, btw!) Then your waitress will give you another check for your drinks. I wasn’t planning on getting anything besides water, so I basically had to tip before I got seated(I also didn’t have cash) and that was annoying because what if the service was poor?! Good thing the service was great! And I thoroughly enjoyed that our appetizers came super quick and there was adequate time between the appetizers and the pizza. Woo! Will definitely be back!

Great food! You’ve got to get the nuggets!!! They have a unique way to order your… you order off a menu/board and then you sit down and your order is brought to you… I’m not a huge pop/soda drinker… they don’t do free refills on drinks fyi. Food is good and worth the little«quirks» :-)

Having grown up closer to Chicago and working there, this is about the closest you can get to being downtown. Moving out here in 2006, one of the things we figured we be giving up was excellent pizza. We figured we would end up settling. Luckily we found two locations not to far from our home in Sycamore, Pizza Villa being the main one. They have an abundance of obviously fresh ingrediants, albeit missing one of the ones I have come to like in recent years(shrimp). A good selection of «special combinations» pizzas as well. Staff is friendly and accommodating. A large menu of other items include lasagna, ravioli, tortellini and an excellent chicken parmesan among other things. While they offer a good selection of beer, however this is most definitely a family atmosphere. The only downside is drinks, all drinks, are ordered and paid for separately and can be a bit confusing. A visit here for us always includes parmesan nuggets(they have different types). We highly recommend.

every fall i think of this place during the college football season some kids get to go to school on the coast on the beach or buried in ivy, in a cosmopolitan city, abroad, or at football factories that seat 100k plus. although there was a heisman candidate in leshon johnson prior to lynch days we get barbwire, hometown claim of cindy crawford and the origins of beer nuggets. that said, wouldn’t trade my formative years in this small town as folks here get it. they keep it real, they keep it simple… they keep it real simple. the yearning and excitement you felt as a kid when the ice cream trucks would pavlov that chime down your block is duplicated in dekalb when those lil trucks circle the towers w/fresh hot bags lookin back, those nuggets may not even be all that good but the smells and memories will last a lifetime

What a terrible experience! I have a gluten allergy and I was so excited to find out a local dekalb pizza place had an option for me. This was by far the worst gluten free pizza I’ve ever had mainly because the crust was horrendous! An we’ve tried many different gf crusts. Trust me my expectations for gf crust aren’t high. Plus, the Sauce was bland and the cheese was like plastic. Toppings weren’t fresh at all. We ordered gf two pizzas and a salad for delivery and it cost over $ 30! The woman on the phone was so rude when I requested gf. Then when our food arrived there were croutons on the Italian salad which were not mentioned on the menu. Overall a horrible, over priced experience. One star.

The villa supreme was just okay, the barbecue chicken pizza was fabulous! The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere is really cool! Didn’t like having to order and pay for pizza before sitting down. Also not a fan of paying separate for soda. Overall it was a good experience and I would return.

Ask any random DeKalb townie who grew up in the area what the best pizza in town is and there’s a good chance they’ll say Pizza Villa. They are wrong. The pizza is overly greasy with mediocre ingredients and an overcooked crust. The townies love it, but if you didn’t grow up with it, chances are you won’t think it’s anything special. The beer nuggets, however, are a different story. They are nothing short of AMAZING. Something about their dough recipe just works so much better for beer nuggets than it does for pizza. For a better pizza in the DeKalb region go to Pizza Pro’s, World Famous, Vinnie’s, or Sam’s in Sycamore.

Decent atmosphere, damn good pizza and the beer nuggets are good enough to just have for dinner. I came here on a lot of hype, and for the most part it lived up to it all Don’t like how refills aren’t free. This definitely old school.

Had this at the urging of friends for the first time recently. It was alright. Definitely better than some other places in DeKalb area, definitely worse than others. We had cheese, pepperoni, and at one friend’s urging: taco. It’s greasy, it’s cut into squares, the toppings are applied generously, and the thin-crust is a well done thin-crust. But it is otherwise just pretty standard pizza. The ingredients are not of exceptional quality. There’s aren’t a lot of gimmicks. It’s not the cheapest or the most expensive. But if you’re in the mood for what is essentially the local version of any other greasy thin-cut pizza, Pizza Villa totally delivers. I wouldn’t turn my nose up at it, but at the same time it won’t be my first choice.
