Yum! I had fresh spring rolls and Husky Phở, I was in for a treat. One of the best broths I have had in years(and this is the third city and restaurant in the last week for Phở). The store front/strip mall façade hides a clean delightful experience. Hope you enjoy.

I love Vietnamese cuisine, and I was very glad I found this place. In fact, it is walking distance from our house to Phở N… I shop at Schnuck’s & I didn’t try Phở N Grill until recently… blaming myself. My first try was their Pat Thai, and I really enjoyed it. Second, I tried their Spring Roll & Banh Mi with grilled pork — I really enjoyed it; especially, their Banh Mi — it’s different than what I eat frequently at the restaurant nearby my work(which I love) but I have to say I liked Phở N’s better. I also like their friendly staff & the restaurant is clean & cozy. I still haven’t tried their noodles — of course they are on my list now. As well as, I hope they will add more of authentic Vietnamese dishes(Banh Xeo, please!). I am sure Phở N will be my frequent stop to eat from now on!

Hidden treasure in DeKalb worth getting off the road for. We have travelled in Vietnam and are delighted to have discovered this spot. Thank you, Unilocal!Great house special banh mih every bit as good as I ate in Hanoi. My husband had pork on rice noodles and nearly lucked the bowl clean. The restaurant is spotless with ample parking and good service. The owner is Vietnamese, and it shows. Very highly recommended.

So happy that Vietnamese food has arrived in Dekalb. The phở is top notch, as are the banh mi.

I have been here several times, and each time, the food and service has been excellent. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, and very accommodating if you have questions about the menu items. I have been there with a large group of friends where we definitely stayed too long chatting, and our waiter still came by and refilled our water and checked on us often even though we were done eating and just hanging out. The food is amazing. Large portions at fair prices. Authentic Vietnamese options. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Very nice atmosphere. Good service, very clean. We had lunch-pad thai chicken and Generals chicken. General chicken was excellent, with good flavor, nice fresh broccoli, good sauce. Pad Thai needed more zip, but was fine. Nice place to try something new.

The last time my boyfriend and I came in, I ordered the sesame chicken and he ordered the fried pork chop. My meal was good. The sesame sauce was tasty and it came with a big side of rice. My boyfriend’s plate however was inedible. The last couple of times we came in, he had ordered the fried pork chop, and he loved it. He took an extra pork chop home each time. This time, the pork chop was extremely fatty. Each bite he took was chewy and mushy. He had two pieces, so we thought maybe just the first piece was fatty, he bit into the second piece, same thing: Fatty meat. He spat everything out.

Are you kidding me? Have you ever had pork belly before?! Entirely overcooked. For those of you who don’t travel. This is not phở. Educate yourselves. Love, peace, and chicken grease!

Just… Go. You’ve come here looking for reasons to go or not to go. I’m tellin ya, GO! I did something I never do and I ordered just a bunch of funky sounding food. The Husky phở was really rich. Even as a big eater, one Husky phở is enough for 2 Huskies. I also ordered something called chow fun. WHATFUN! that was incredibly flavorful and just yummy. There is nothing objectionable or weird, I promise, there are a LOT of onions in chow fun, so order accordingly! Have fun, experiment and GO!

I always look forward to eating here when I’m in town! The first time I came here, I ordered the Phở Tai and it was very good! Sometimes I am surprised by how sweet some broths are but this broth is nicely balanced. I have also tried the Bún bò Hu, which to my surprise actually had a good spicy kick! I really enjoy spicy food so I’m glad I ordered this dish! I also ordered the Vietnamese Iced Coffee which was a bit stronger than what I usually get at other restaurants but I like a more bitter taste versus an ultra sweet iced coffee. Still very tasty and reasonably priced. In fact, everything is very reasonably priced! I never want to pay more than $ 9 for a bowl of phở and luckily here, it is only about $ 7. The interior is very clean and spacious. I also like coming here because the staff is very accommodating and my glass is never empty. You never have to wait too long to be seated and enjoy a delicious meal.

Delicious! More of DeKalb/Sycamore need to find this hidden gem! Look by Schnucks! I hadn’t noticed it here the many times I’ve driven to get on the interstate. Great décor, clean, engaging and inviting. Key to any new cuisine is to admit you have no idea about it. Tell them your likes(I love shrimp and chicken) or dislikes(peanuts; they can remove it off SOME menu items). We had a lot of fun with their help guiding us to a multitude of menu choices. My 7 year old daughter loved it! They pass the picky kid test! Looking forward to another new choice next time so I can find my «must have» for future visits :)) YUM!

Went back a second time and had a much better experience! I went with a friend who likes Phở and introduced me to it. This time when I went I got the Huskie Bowl of Phở, and it was my first time trying Phở. I loved it! The Huskie bowl is a huge portion, and they bring you the bean sports, jalapeños, and a lime wedge on the side. I absolutely love cilantro and like together so it was a perfect mix for me. I wasn’t really a fan of the rounder pieces of pork, resemble meatballs. This pork was just a little fatty, but I loved the thin shaved slices of pork! I dipped it in some sauce on the side, another helpful hint from my friend, and I really enjoyed the meal and the portion size was great. Excellent service just like last visit too. Will be back again for some Phở!

Amazing place. Not only is the food always good, the service is excellent. Everyone is so friendly and attentive. I love grabbing a quick & cheap banh mi from here for lunch. So good. I’ve also had their spring rolls, egg rolls, phở, vermicelli bowls, and spicy beef noodle stew. All have been awesome. Also, their boba tea drinks are authentic — not powder drinks. So glad to have a good vietnamese place here in DeKalb! I’d eat here almost every night if I could afford it.

We read about this new restaurant in DeKalb, and since we love Vietnamese food(my traveling companion grew up in Vietnam), we drove 45 miles out of our way to our destination in order to try it. How good was the food? Let’s just say that on our return trip two days later, we drove 45 miles out of our way again to have our lunch there today. Friday night for dinner we tried the spring rolls and the egg rolls for our appetizers. You get two with each order, so we split them. The spring rolls were to die for, and they were huge! I’ve never had better! As for the egg rolls, one thing you need to understand that a Vietnamese egg roll is small. I have to say that my traveling companion makes better ones, but that’s not detracting from these. They were quite tasty. For our main course, I tried the lemon grass chicken served with white rice. It was served with a delicious sauce and onions. It is some of the best Asian cuisine I’ve had outside of Vietnam, which we visited this past fall. My friend’s only complaint about her pepper shrimp was that the jalapeños were actually too hot, which was funny to me because she can never get enough of the hot stuff. I had a taste, and found the shrimp to be cooked perfectly. When we returned today, my friend repeated the pepper shrimp, which this time had peppers that were more to her level of heat tolerance. I tried the special banh mi, which consisted of pork, pork belly, and pâté. It compared well with any of the banh mis I’ve had in Vietnam. We decided to carry out a couple of banh mis for dinner after we got home. This time I had the lemon grass chicken banh mi. It was every bit as delicious as the special. The restaurant isn’t huge, and there were two wait staff present on Friday evening around 8:00 p.m. and only one today at about 2:00 p.m. They were friendly and attentive. The restaurant itself is clean and has a nice casual atmosphere. We’ll probably end up returning whenever we’re near DeKalb.

I’m so excited that we finally have a place to get phở in DeKalb! It beats having to drive up to Chicago every time you wanna get decent Vietnamese food. The atmosphere in this place is great,(though the interior doesn’t exactly match the strip mall exterior), very bright, very clean, the service is awesome, and the menu is a good size. There are a variety of dishes beyond just phở, so even if you come here with a picky eater there is something for everyone. I ordered the bun bo hue and my friend got phở. I was pretty impressed with both but I think the bun bo hue could have been a little spicier. The flavor of the broth was on point though! I think the prices were more than reasonable for the amount and quality of the food(but I go to school in Iowa so maybe I’m just used to paying more for authentic Asian food). I can’t wait until the next time I’m at NIU just so I can try out more things here! Really want to try the banh mi and bo luc lac.

This place was nothing special. The server was polite but when we asked what he suggested he gave us the generic«everything is good» response which is a pet peeve of mine. We got the crab rangoons as a starter which were pretty good; large and not too greasy. I got the pepper shrimp which was a hearty portion for the price but lacked a lot of flavor. My date got the General Tso chicken which had good flavor but wasn’t spicy despite having a picture of a chili pepper next to its name on the menu. There was no soy sauce on the tables and we had to ask for chop sticks but once we were given them they were the nice, reusable plastic ones. Classy, but difficult to use. The place was nice and clean inside with decent décor. We could never find the bathroom though???

Biggest problem is that we can walk here from our place. Heard a rumor almost a year ago this place was going to open next to the nail salon and we have been impatiently waiting lol. Great ambiance, delicious authentic food, great service, and reasonable prices for the amount of food. We typically have to wait it out to drive to Naperville or Southeast Asian Town in the city for food but now we have a great option! The wings and phở is delicious-on the menu daily which is how a true Vietnamese restaurant should be.

My family and I had the pleasure in stopping by today! We are from Aurora…30 minutes or so… and heard from a friend this new Vietnamese restaurant just opened up. For those of us who live away from Chicago’s Uptown/Vietnamese neighborhood, it is indeed difficult to find some good Vietnamese food! We will definitely be back again and again! Here is my review on the restaurant: Food:(Since I like to eat a variety of food, I picked off from my family’s plate. lol) Pekin House Eggrolls: Not your typical eggroll… better! Crab Rangoon: So creamy and packed with flavor. Not dried out and thick like some other places. Braised Pork Belly Bao: The Bao itself was nicely steamed and the pork was tender and juicy! Phở: A big bowl of yummy broth with all the trimmings. Quite impressed since so many restaurants don’t use all the spices that should go in a pot of phở. Salt and Pepper Fish Fillet: One of my favorite dishes. Slightly battered so you don’t have just thick batter… and there was actually a good amount of fish within the batter! Upon my request, I added extra jalapenos. Yum. Shaking Beef: AKA Bo Luc Lac in Vietnamese. Beef was tender and flavorful Grilled Pork Rice Noodle Bowl:(Bun thit nuong cha gio) My sister’s favorite. Although I didn’t eat from her bowl, I did try a piece of her pork, and it was delicious. Also, that bowl was a good portion of food. Bun Bo Hue Soup: the Bun Bo Hue was hot, spicy, and packed with the trimmings. Service and environment: There were a good amount of servers floating around and constantly checking on us. :) As for environment, I was in a clean and friendly setting. The décor of the place is neat. A few of inspirational quotes on the walls. In a nutshell, you will not be disappointed at Phở n Grill. Prices are definitely reasonable(actually prices are higher in Chicago for many of the items) and the portions are great. My family and I are already talking about when to come back.

As soon as I walked I was embraced by a warm«Welcome» sign and family friendly staff who seated us right away. The first thing I noticed was the modern and elegant interior design as well as the spacious layout of tables and chairs. Often times, I find Asian restaurants to be a bit crammed, especially during busy hours, but no such problem at Phở N Grill. We ordered the following dishes and here is what I have to say about each: –Braised Pork Belly Baos(#22) — The pork belly was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The soft and warm bun complimented the meat and vegetables perfectly. A must-try! –Pekin House Egg Roll(#2) — Looks like your typical egg roll, but one bite in, and you quickly realize there is nothing typical about it. Crunchy and flaky on the outside with a delicious filling on the inside. What sets these egg rolls apart is the addition of their«secret» ingredient(creamy peanut butter). –Deep-fried Chinese Man-Tou(#23) — Great snack to satisfy your sweet tooth! These sweet buns are a perfect blend of crunchy and soft. –Beef Chow Fun(#83) — A fan-favorite dish done right. The noodles were perfectly cooked, not too soft, not too hard, and they did not skimp out on the beef! –Honey Glazed Walnut Shrimp(#120) — Sweet, crunchy, and savory. You cannot go wrong with this dish! In conclusion, Phở N Grill is a must-try restaurant and I will definitely come back!
