Great food and drink and always an interesting mix of people eating here.

I had a bad time idk why but alot of the times I go here its always great food and great service. Just one time we had a waiter that haven’t seen since. Tell us that we were wrong about what we ordered… then she yelled at my fiancé… so we called the manager and got our meals free. She had gotten us confused with another table she was waiting. It was easily fixed but she took it a little 2 far.

This is a very complex place to rate. To start, the restaurant is very dirty and run down… but I admit that sometimes leads to the best meals. So you walk in and hope your tetanus shot is current. I listened to fellow Unilocal and had the cheese sauce for chips. Yes… it was incredible. The marinated chicken is also delicious so they got that going for them. Two in group complained the taco meat(ground beef) was very salty. I tried it and agreed that it lacks a Mexican flavor and is mainly just salt and cumin. Service was pretty good and our server was very attentive with drinks and checking on us. Overall, a solid 3.5 to 4 star.

Great food! Great drinks! Decent service. All things considered, an awesome Mexican restaurant.

Authentic? Yikes. No mole. No tamales. No nopalitos. Yes, the chips and salsa were fine. The salt shaker didn’t burst into flame at any time, and there was no broken glass in my Marcos Special… The best service, fairly clean, and above average food. But if this is as good as it gets, i suppose it’s saying more about Decatur than this restaurant. In all fairness, the food is good enough for 3.5 stars… But something had to counteract the zombie«best most authentic Mexican this side of Jaurez» posts…

This is probably my favorite Mexican restaurant. Like, ever. Anywhere. Seriously, can’t go wrong here. You will have withdrawals. The chips and salsa here are top-notch and arrive at your table warm & fresh. Get the cheese dip and the guacamole! The entrees at this hometown/college favorite are very reasonably priced. I’m a huge fan of the Enchiladas Verdes. They have other combination entrees that are great and I recommend the seafood entrees as well. Lunch specials are also worth an honorable mention! The drink specials are different everyday and my favorite is the frozen margarita pitcher special. This place is very easy-going, but the service is fast and friendly. They work hard to please! Expect to wait a while on the weekends — college kids come out and take over for a bit! If you wait, it’ll be SOSOSO worth it!

Great food, although it is very Americanized. Clean facilities and fast service. The cheese sauce and margaritas are my favorite. This restaurant is mainly visited by college kids.

After a slow start, I have to say the chips & salsa were fantastic, as was our food. We will be back!

Good Food – Great seating – Excellent Service! I didn’t have too many expectations to begin with, but this place will surely be my frequent dinner spots from now on. Their chips and salsa didn’t impress me too much, but the menu is pretty great with a lot to choose from. I had the Fajita Quesadilla which was delicious.

A hometown favorite! Decatur has several good Mexican restaurants, but this is the go-to for my family and friends. The chips and salsa are worth over-indulging as I always do at Mexican places. I recommend ordering the cheese dip as well. As far as the menu, I don’t think you can go wrong. I usually stick to fajitas, a quesadilla, or a combo plate. But from others who branch out more, I know the other entrees are good, too. Anything with cheese or cheese sauce on it will probably be de-lish! And fried ice cream… yes!

Was just passing through the area and took a shot based on the positive Unilocal reviews. The food was very bland and unimpressive. In fact, I would even say it was closer to poor vs average. The chips and salsa were ok and the service was awesome. Too bad this place was a bust– seriously, hit Taco Bell before this place– at least you know what you are getting there.

This is my favorite«Mexican» place to eat in all of Decatur. Of course this isn’t in any way authentic Mexican food, but it definitely hits the spot for your fajita, taco, burrito craving! The food is always fantastic every single time, so you know exactly the deliciousness to expect. Service is fast and friendly, and the price is perfect! Only downside… you’ll leave smelling like the place and very likely with onion breath. Make sure to have some gum and Febreeze in the car!

Great service, great food, and cheap. Mi Pueblito is our favorite Mexican joint in central illinois. Mi Pueblito overcomes being located in a stripmall and not the best part of Decatur.(yes, there are good parts) My favorite here is the lunch steak fajita quesadilla. Never disappoints. Same owners as Guadalajara in Decatur they tell me.

Best Mexican restaurant in Decatur! My top dishes are as follows: –Chile Colorado(steak strips served in a spicy sauce) –Tacos Guadalajara(three steak/chorizo tacos) –Nachos Fajita(fajita meat and veggies — I like steak/chorizo or chicken/chorizo best) –Arroz con Pollo(just like it sounds… chicken…rice…with a heavy drizzle of queso dip!) –Fajita Quesadilla –Enchiladas Suizas(pork enchiladas with chile verde sauce)

Very good food. Friendly fast service. Good prices. I’m satisfied. The only negative were the chips(they were edible but I’ve had better). I had Chicken Pollo. Chicken was tender and seasoned perfectly. First time visit today. I’ll go back when I’m in town.

Driving in June from Springfield to Decatur’s airport to catch a flight(Air Choice One to St. Louis), I consulted Unilocal for restaurant advice and decided to try Mi Pueblito; it was an excellent pick! The restaurant is very roomy and seems to attract a steady crowd of locals, both Hispanic and otherwise; service was quick and pleasant; and the dish I ordered was large and delicious(that’s all I remember of it, a few months after the fact). Mints were served with the check. If passing through Decatur again, I’d gladly return.

Was just thinking about things I love and miss from home and Mi Pueb came to mind! Sign me up for a strong long island and chicken fajita quesadilla and I am one happy girl! They are speedy, consistent, generous and reasonably priced. It’s a given you’ll run into at least 3 people you know with the same craving for Mi Pueb everytime you go, you may have a quick chat or just a nod of recognition because you both know how great it is. Perfect every time!

I haven’t tried all of the Mexican restaurants in town, but I have tried most of them, and«Mi Pueb» is the best by far. I lived in California for many years, and though the Mexican cuisine here isn’t on the same level as what you can find out there, this place is still quite good and the best around. I highly recommend it. My favorites: the Chile Colorado and the Enchiladas Suizas.
