OK, I love this place. Every time I walk in, I’m amazed by the eclectic treasures I discover. It feels like a stylishly designed vintage museum, only everything is for sale. The people who work there are super nice, too. The toughest part about visiting The Cottage is not spending too much money. I always walk out of there with something fun.

The Cottage, beyond its chalky pastel door and chic topiaries, evokes such a sense of dewy mystique that it should really be renamed«The Rabbit Hole». Self-categorizing as «vintage accessories, wonderful gifts & cool junk», The Cottage appeals to the Romantic Designer in all of us: ceramic rabbits peer penchantly into hand-mirrors; antique billiard balls lay in a bell jar like weighty fruits; teacups are stacked high, glittering as stately as an Italian tower. Simply put, the attention to detail is remarkable. If that weren’t enough, in admiring the handiwork one languid mountain morning, I had the opportunity to speak to one of the two owners of The Cottage very nicely about Dayton and the Valley, who remembered me on later visits to the store. Such taste, hospitality, and inspiration is not to be missed!
