On a strip with multiple places to choose from I’m glad I chose El Toro. The people there were super nice and gave fast friendly service. I had polio Loco which was grilled chicken covered in chopped chorizo sausage covered in white cheddar sauce. served with rice, lettuce, tomato, flour tortillas and guacamole «The white cheddar sauce is like crack especially when you dip your chips in it» The food was well seasoned and not bland or overly salted it was just right. If you’re ever in the area and have a taste for Mexican this is a place to try.

The food is good. The prices are affordable. The restaurant is clean. The service is good. The only negative comment I can make is that it is a little noisy if you sit between the bar and the kitchen.

Friendly staff. Food is good. I had the fatija salad with steak. It came with grilled green peppers and onions. They added two slices of tomatoes, white cheese and scoops of sour cream. Free chips as an appetizer. Only reason not five stars was the portion seems very small and the steak sparse.

In town for a convention and staying down the street, we decided to stop here for dinner. The restaurant is very well set up, and our waiter was quick to get us drinks — Margaritas were very good and strong. We ordered a combo and fajitas texanos and before we could blink the food was at our table. The potions were huge, and the price was very reasonable. I’ll come back again!

The short of it: good food, friendly but slower service. We stopped in for a quick late lunch/early dinner. Only a few tables filled and we were served drinks and apps quickly. Our food took forever to come out with no apologies or explanations. The Monster Burrito was exactly what I was hoping for and I’d order it again in a heartbeat. My husband liked his food, too. We’d go back but will afford more time for the meal.

I got stranded in town due to a snow storm and my hotel recommended el toro. Great choice. I had very good cheese dip, a skirt steak with shrimp that was very good. The prices were reasonable and the service was great

My first Chorizo. It’s amazing!!! I officially love this restaurant! Super friendly folks ans incredible food. Here’s what we had:
Husband: quesadilla deluxe with beef tips: lovely!
Me: Chorizo quesadilla: awesome!
Little: cheese and guacamole: fantastic!
Everything was prompt, delightful and perfect!
We’re not local to the area but this place alone would be worth the trip to Dayton!

El Toro is my favorite Mexican restaurant in the Dayton area. They have excellent food at low prices, along with great prices on draft beer. The service is great and the workers are very friendly. I’ve eaten at El Toro since 2010 and have never been disappointed. The environment inside is very nice too. If you live in the Dayton area and love Mexican food, I strongly recommend El Toro

The restaurant is located on a road with many food choices. Upon reading other Unilocal reviews we decided to try.
Service was very good combined with the cocktails. My wife had the Cadillac Margarita and I had the El Toro.
Salsa arrived as soon as we sat down and was very good. We tried an order of Guac and it was also fresh with just the right amount of spice.
My wife had fajitas which were served very hot as they should be. I had the burrito deluxe which I would order again.
Great spot to hit when in Dayton.

Had combo #8. Tamale was over-breaded but okay. I didn’t care for the beef enchilada at all. Salsa was nice and chunky but otherwise average.
Place has a nice décor and attentive staff.
If they could improve their food quality this place would take off.

Tried this restaurant based on the reviews… salsa was fresh and very good. Service was superb, our server refilled our drinks promptly. I had the vegetarian quesadilla, which was very good. My husband had a chicken burrito that he said was very good. The downfall was the chile rellenos… the pepper was still crunchy and tasted as if it were dipped in plain flour… very little flavor. Will try this place again, hopefully next time the chile rellenos will be better. (hope the restaurant reads these reviews)

Very fast service and good food. The salsa could be a little better, but not bad.
Good drinks at a good price.
My only complaint is getting sprayed by water on the way in. Who power washes the up level of the restaurant, over the main entrance during business hours?

Food was super fast and delicious. I had the fajitas del mar and my boyfriend had the fajitas texanas. Both were very good and had nice big shrimp. Chips and salsa were fresh and tasty!

My girlfriend and I came around 2:45 for lunch. Walking in to the building, the atmosphere was great! It is nice and wide open with a top floor and a patio. The music is great and I can’t put my finger on it, but it is just better then any other mexican restaurant. The salsa was also amazing! Staff was very friendly. For lunch we both ordered a number 1 combo which is 2 enchiladas 1 taco and rice. The rice was nothing special. Not bad, but not the best. The Tacos and enchiladas were phenomenal! The enchilada sauce really was the icing on the cake.

We have been dining at this location since the day they opened. The service is usually good to exceptional. The food has always been amazing! We love the fajitas, quesadillas, chimichangas, and more. The lunch specials are also a good value.
My personal favorite is the Burrito Colorado.
This location by far surpasses the others (nothing against them but this is our favorite) and the prices are so much better than other mexican places in the area. We are devoted fans!

This place is incredible!
We’ve come here several times and will keep coming back. The service is great and the food is even better. This place has become my Go-To for Mexican. My sister-in-law who is from Mexico has declared it the most authentic Mexican we’ve found so far.
I have added pics of the Steak Fajitas and the Monster Burrito. Both dinners are large enough to share. I’ve yet to be able to finish my meal.
Although they are the same company, the location on Miller Lane is much better than the Huber Heights location — for both food and service. If you live in Huber, it is worth the extra trip to Miller Lane for Mexican food.
The service is great. We’ve had several servers and all have been fast, kind and delivered accurate orders. They are on the ball for drink refills and seem happy to be there.
For comic relief: Check out the menu. Lots of spelling errors make for a fun conversation piece.
