Usually a nice selection of tea, decent chow, nice atmosphere.

Went for after work drinks and had some wings. The service was good, atmosphere was nice and chill, but the wings were terrible. They were WAY too salty and greasy. I’ll go back to try something else and hope for a better result. Btw, they take an 18% automatic gratuity on all checks.

I went for the first time for their Wednesday wing special. $ 0.50 cent full wings. Some of the best parmesan garlic wings I have ever had. But menu looks legit. I’ll definitely be back.

Grabbed dinner here before heading back to work at the Schuster Center. I ate their famous asparagus fries, which really ARE as great as they sound — thick stalk asparagus lightly fried. Followed by their lemon pepper tilapia which was perfectly flaky. There was buttery broccoli and roasted potatoes with red onions (which were a little over seasoned) on the side.

True to its name, the food is delicious. Have been here twice now and have enjoyed both times very much. The fried asparagus app is fantastic, as well as the Cajun spinach artichoke dip. Good amount of vegetarian options on the menu, of which the veggie burger was, according to my GF, «by far the best I’ve ever had». I had the chicken wings, which did not disappoint. Would recommend this place to anyone.

IT is truly hit or miss. I have had excellent meals here. I have also been served food that appeared to have languished under a heat lamp for hours. If it was more consistent, I think it would be a real winner. And service is spotty to say the least. Bring a book and don’t be in a rush to eat

No joke about the wait time. It took us 45 minutes to get any food after we ordered; this includes appetizers. We decided to give this place a try due to its rating and proximity to the Schuster. We nearly missed the show because of the slow service. Our waitress did not bother to check on us to make sure we had enough water. Because there were seven of us, they automatically tacked on an 18% gratuity for poor customer service. I’m starting to wonder if bringing a large group means that they just won’t care. The food was decent and the décor was comfortable, but for the price we paid, it just wasn’t worth it. We will not return and I would suggest not bringing a group if you decide to check the place out.

My friend and I stopped at De’lish before our show at the Schuster. The atmosphere was wonderful and our waitress Jessica was amazing. We started with the soul rolls (fabulous) and then we had the vegetable lasagna and the chicken marsala. Too bad we had no room for dessert. We will definitely be back.

My husband and I went to Dayton to see a play. I read good reviews on this restaurant, so thought we would give it a try. Our reservations were at 6PM, so before it got busy. We were seated and did not see a waitress for about 10 min, but when she did come over she apologized that she thought another waitress was assigned to our table– OK, no problem. We ordered our usual dirty martinis, our drink of choice when we get a night out. We waited about 10 mins, the waitress came over and said they didn’t have olives behind the bar and had to go to the basement to get them. Another 10 – 15 mins past, still looking for olives? She came back and apologized that they seemed to be out, so they are having someone run across the street to purchase olives if we wanted to wait– Or we can order a different drink. By this time, we might as well wait for the person to run across the street and get the drink we want!
FOURTY mins later, our martinis came. The food was OK, nothing spectacular, but tasty. She brought the check over and not only did they charge us for the martinis, they charged us for ‘premium grey goose’ vodka, which we did not ask for ($ 12.50 a piece). I was a little shocked that they would not be comped as a courtesy– seemed obvious to me! Any bar/​restaurant should be stocked with olives, they are standard in a lot of drinks, so someone dropped the ball on that one. Also, as we were eating dinner I saw other tables order dirty martinis, so it would have been an issue for those customers as well! I asked the waitress to see if a manger would kindly take the drinks off our bill. She said actually THE OWNER is here, not a manager. OK, great, even better!
She came back and said she was sorry the OWNER will not comp the drinks because the waitress gave us a choice to choose another beverage. THE OWNER would not do it after a 40 min wait!!! Wow! Talk about horrible customer service. Mind blown! I wasn’t going to argue any further, it was just the principle of making happy customers who actually want to come back to your restaurant. We actually were going to try their brunch the next morning until all of this. So if not comping 2 drinks is worth losing customers and getting a bad review– then GOOD LUCK!

We went to De’Lish before seeing Once at the Schuster Center This was a great place to go and was perfect for before the show. We were there on a Wednesday evening and it was a night of amazing specials and tastes!!! The food is to die for and the wine was reasonable and delicious. We had margaritas before dinner and they were perfect! Don’t miss going to this wonderful restaurant… A reason to go downtown or to visit if you are downtown.

This place is always so good! Amazing southern food and huge portions, but you MUST leave room for dessert! We had the sweet potato cake, and I miss it already. :) Edward was our bartender and is just about the nicest guy downtown, and makes a great White Russian. We will be back!

Nothing short of amazing! Had the Southern Comfort with fried chicken breast, greens, mac and cheese, and a cornbread muffin. To top it off I added the sweet potato dream cake. What an outstanding meal. Add a peach margarita, some good music, nice deco, and good company. A must stop when I travel to Dayton again!!!

Always a good time with friends but the service can be spotty. Unique menu and very nice atmosphere keep me coming back.

After talking to one of the owners he apologized for bad customer service experience I had and was willing to straighten out the charges on my bill. I appreciated him contacting me and hearing me out on the issues I had. He invited me back down and since the food is really good I will be returning in the future.

Wow!!! Simply amazing!!! Great ambiance, food and superb service!!! Wait time was zero. Owners were very engaging with customers and everyone seemed to be really enjoying themselves. The bartender was super energetic and fun!!! Would definitely come back!!!

My husband and I was so glad to find this place while visiting Dayton over the weekend. It was a Friday and we were able to make a last minute reservation for 7:30. Once we arrived we were nicely greeted and shown to our table. The restaurant is very nice inside and although it is not huge there is plenty of seating up and downstairs. The only reason I did not give this place 5 stars is because the service was a little on the slow side. As for the food it was amazing. I had the Turkey Ribs with the Sweet and Spicy Collards and Mac and Cheese and my husband had the Southern Comfort with Chicken Wings. Next time we are in town I am trying the Salmon Diablo. Since it took so long for our food to come out we did at least get to listen to the live band for the first set and we enjoyed that a lot. We were also pleased they had highchairs for or 14 month old. Parking is free too.

Was excited to take my fiancé there to try the soul rolls since he is from out of town and we both ended up disappointed. The rolls were not made fresh and we could tell they had just been heated up in the microwave. He did enjoy the lemon pepper tilapia but overall not a very good first impression.

Visiting from California and Waited over 40 min for order. Asked for drink refills & water which never came. It wasn’t like it was over crowded, there was only one other party in there. Food was fair to good which made up for the poor service. This kind of thing happening in California wouldn’t fly!

The food was decent but service was horrible. I had my friend’s party there, I’ve called ahead of time to make sure all the tables were set up but when I got there nothing was set up. I tried to look for someone to help set up the table and the owner asked me what was in my bags and want to make sure that I don’t have a cake in there because he would need to charge me extra. Their service was horrible, I would never go back again.

The food was simply great. i had a Ribeye that was delicious and cut like butter. Wish all of my dining experiences were this good. Go, you will not be disappointed.

The Chicken Marsala was outstanding and the Carrot Cake was exquisite. We went there on a Friday with reservations for 5:30 pm. Service was a bit slow out of the kitchen but the waiter was very good. I would definitely go back. Tip: Expect them to be very busy on theater night.

I went here on Wind down Wednesday. The service was fair, I did had to go ask my server for extra drinks. Other then that food was ok nothing really special and the drinks were good. I can say they do charge a 18 percent gratuity charge no matter how many people are in your party which is bullshit. Like I said the service was fair so why should I automatic get charge for fair service. Overall I’ll give them 3.5

Went back on a Friday night to try dinner. There was live music and happy hour drink specials. Drinks made to perfection and tried the soul roll as well as the wings. Just delicious.
My only gripe is that the live music could be too loud at times.

My co-​worker and I are from out of town and working in Dayton on a project. I noticed this place yesterday and we decided to try it out today. What a great little gem! The food was OUTSTANDING. We both had the Chicken Rice Soup, it was the best soup I have had out at a restaurant in a long, long time. We even took some to go so we could have it for dinner tonight. My main dish was the Seafood Gumbo. It was full of flavor and a great meal. I would highly recommend this restaurant!

The southern comfort dish is out of this world! My two co-​workers got this and I’ve never heard anyone talk so much about how great their food is! And one is from Mississippi so he knows soul food. Apple cinnamon sauce and greens are such unique flavors and out of this world. Chicken and mac and cheese are also solid. I would beyond highly recommend this dish!

The absolute Best Chicken and Sweet Potato Waffles In the world!!! Great Food, Great Service, Great Atmosphere!!!

This place looks good and they have free valet. They have a limited wine list really no wine list and it is not very good. They said they are suppose to get a new wine list. Service is mediocre at best and it’s hard to get a waiters attention. The dress code is pretty much wear what you want. The appetizers and main course do not have any taste. The food is not worth the cost.
