Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra Association

The Gem City has remarkable arts. Generally, Dayton’s historical arts benefit from its wealthy past in the form of endowments that support impressive talent. The Dayton Philharmonic is a terrific orchestra made of highly talented musicians and a skillful, charismatic conductor. I particularly enjoy how the conductor makes sure the audience is aware of the context of the music before it is performed. (I wish modern dance companies would do this. I have no idea what’s going on unless the people on stage are lying motionless = dead or making out = in love. Once, I paid to watch a bunch of people roll around on the floor in spandex.)
Please, have a look at their site. Some of their tickets are $ 9 in the cheap seats, and no seat is bad if the venue is the Schuster Center. The Dayton Philharmonic plays classical and contemporary, comedy, horror and rock. They have strong ties with the community and consistently reach out to Dayton. It would be worth your while to see what they’re doing.
