I went to see Wicked. My first time ever seeing a Broadway show. It was awesome. Everybody actually respected the rules of no photography during the show. The place is really clean and well kept. They say there’s no dress code, but pretty much everybody was at least a little more than casual.

I truly enjoy this venue as a Dayton place to be! I originally saw Phantom of the Opera in the first year of the facility and have since been back many times. Tonight was Wicked! I saw this in Cincinnati last year at the Arnoff and it was certainly improved by this facility. The acoustics are amazing and it’s perfectly comfortable in terms of temperature and ability to see the stage.

This place was great for seeing Wicked last week! Of course wicked was great so I won’t focus the review on that :] I came as part of a bus trip which included a meal prior to the show. I wasn’t expecting much from the food, but actually was happily surprised with everything. The room was set up nicely and private for our group. We had a leader that met us at the bus and guided us along during lunch. She was great and very energetic! We had some time to wander around downtown before the performance, but there isn’t too much within a few block besides businesses and restaurants. The theater is gorgeous inside and out. We were there for a matinée time, but I can imagine how gorgeous the building is at night with all the lights. I’m hoping to return next year for the Lion King.

Schuster center is one of the best venues I have visited. I am not sure if there is a bad seat in the house. I have been twice for the Dayton Philharmonic, and the acoustics are phenomenal. I don’t know if it matters what you are there to see/hear, go. Get a ticket, go enjoy yourself. Great for a date night, or even just a solo adventure.

Great little Dayton gem! The theater is beautiful! We sat on the side in the loge area, so we were close anyway, but we definitely could appreciate that the theater is built more vertically(as opposed to horizontally, if that makes sense) so that no one is TOO far back from the stage. Really pretty inside for sure. We are from Indianapolis and definitely want to remember this place when looking for shows in a decent radius!

I remember when this center first opened and the very first thing I saw was Blast! I loved it and came back to see Wicked: The Musical. My parents loved seeing Mama Mia! here and a naval musical as well. The center has lots of space, great refreshment stands, a built in restaurant and ease of access. I highly recommend this place!

Great place to watch a show! Dayton Opera performs here and they consistently have great shows! Parking is free on Sunday in downtown so find an open meter and save your money on parking.

Sorry for the late review, but my first experience here was seeing Lion King with the entire family of 14(kids/grandkids/in laws…). This place was huge, beautiful, the staff was courteous. The acoustics was stellar! My only draw back is the amount of time it took to leave(we were on the upper balcony), and with only one set of stairs on either end of the place. I could only imagine the chaos if any emergency ever arose… but the police blocked off the street to everyone could cross and get out of the parking area without a hitch. Look forward to returning if I find a performance my wife and I happen to like.

Fantastic staff of volunteers and paid personnel. They are very helpful in all aspects of making your visit a great one. The seating is good and the sound system excellent for the musical shows. Sight lines are some of the best I have experienced in any city. Every performance we have been to from A Chorus Line to Jersey Boys has been a pleasure to watch and hear. A first class venue for major productions.

The Schuster Center is wonderful! The building is very modern and clean. The staff is always wonderful. The best part is that so far I have yet to have a bad seat which is fantastic. The Schuster Center has really brought a lot of wonderful Broadway shows to people in Dayton to experience and that is just plain old wonderful. The last time I was the Schuster Center it was for the Lion King. Let me tell you if you have never been you should make a point to go check it out. It is a wonderful show and the Schuster Center made a perfect host for it. Parking is another plus as it is across the street and usually only $ 5!

This has added quite a bit to a downtown that is desperate for people and activity which is the reason I give it 4 stars. The space is very modern and the seating is farily spacious. This theatre goes up more than it does out and in my mind that causes the accoustics to suffer a bit. Compared to other theatres in the area, this is not a great space for music. You can hear the actors fine in speaking parts but music is somewhat lost in the loft of the ceiling. Dayton depserately needed this and it has been a godsend for the city.

Ahhh, the theatre! Historic and grand spaces that reek with history… Or you could go to the Schuster Performing Arts Center with its futuristic glass exterior and über modern design. And it is a fairly modern only having opened in 2003. You can come here to watch a variety of performances such as Broadway series productions like ‘A Chorus Line,’ as well as Operas, and Lectures. Tickets seem a bit on the high side as tickets for that night’s «The Mikado» ranged from $ 15 to $ 92, but I never saw how to qualify for the $ 15 range. A bit out of JMack’s and my price range. So we looked at the exhibits in the lobby of the Schuster Performing Arts Center That night(Dayton Urban Nights) that were based on Asian art and culture. It was a nice venue and would be a wonderful choice for special events and the like.
