Massage Therapy Institute In Davis

I cant say enough great things about this school. I first started attending MTI in 2011 for the 100 hour program. I felt that the teachers chosen for each section of the program were an excellent fit and they went above and beyond to ensure that I got as much out of the program as possible. The instructors are truly passionate about their profession and teaching what they know to future body workers. Since 2011 I have taken several continuing education courses at MTI, I have found them all to be as exceptional as the 100 hour program. I love that with this school you have the option to take full programs such as a full 500 massage program, Sports Massage or you can pick and choose the classes that work best for you to build up to CAMTC certification of your chosen level.
This week I took a Medical Massage Class — Neck and Whiplash from Marty Morales (of the Morales Method), the class was exceptional. I walked away with so much knowledge and many ‘tools’ that I could immediately incorporate into my massage practice to help people with neck pain. This school is an excellent fit for anyone looking to start or continue a Body Work Career.

Such an awesome experience. The instructors are top notch and classes are affordable. Marty morales «The Morales Method» is one of my favorite teachers by far. His wisdom and knowledge is amazing and I can’t wait to take many more classes with him.

I love MTI and its owner, Julie Reynolds. I received my original certification here back in 2001 when Julie gave the class. Julie stressed the importance of body mechanics which has served me very well in my massage career. This is the BEST school to take CE in my opinion. Julie only hires top notch instructors, classes aren’t crowded, and continue to remain affordable. If you are considering becoming a CMT, or need to take CE, this is the school to attend!

I would not recommend this institution for educational purposes as they cannot guarantee their teachers, like Ms. Isabel Adkins, will not BULLY a student. Ms. Isabel Adkins was 15 minutes late to class every day, and then meditated for 20 minutes after arriving. This means we were denied 35 minutes of education every day during our 3 day oncology seminar, which cost $ 452! She was verbally abusive and rude to me personally throughout the seminar, to the point that the owner of school refunded my tuition. Ms. Adkins was misinformed on several topics of discussion, which clearly indicates she does not keep up with her own field. It is very possible that other educators are not like Ms. Adkins, but there is no guarantee. This school has no supervision and no way of assuring you will not be a victim of bullying. In my entire 12 years of massage therapy, I have enjoyed each instructor until now. I urge you to look elsewhere if you want to learn Oncology Massage.

I’ve taken several continuing education classes at MTI and all have been very good. Emily Bay, my most recent instructor was super organized, charming and excellent with hands-​on direction. The school is located in downtown Davis which made it possible for me to commute by bicycle and quickly find a lunch spot during our break. The walls of the training room are filled with anatomy, trigger point and reflexology posters that I perused during breaks. Julie Reynolds, the school’s owner-​director is approachable and offers financial discounts for paying early registration fees. I am very happy with my experiences with the school and staff and look forward to taking many more classes here.

I recently took Acupressure and Tui Na Reflexology with Kathleen Davis at MTI. Kathleen is an amazing teacher and I would highly recommend her classes. She is a wealth of knowledge, experience and HEART combined with organizational and instructional practice. I walked away with knowledge that I could regenerate to others as well as techniques that I built into my massage/​Reiki practice the next day!
Julie (the Director of the school) communicates clearly and concisely. She runs a top notch and mindful school. Thank you both!

I did the 100 hour certification here. The teachers here are amazing. Not only are they incredibly knowledgeable but they also made what could have been a stressful situation so much fun! It also helped that everyone in our program was amazing. They emphasize hands on training, and I have to admit, the program itself is well worth the money just considering the amount of massages you receive =)
I trust what they teach and their teaching methods! It prepares you to be a competent and knowledgeable therapist!
