We weren’t allowed in because our IDs were from out of state. I understand that they must get a lot of fake IDs but isn’t it their job to know the difference? I guess it’s easier to turn away paying customers. It really put a sour note on our first night out in Davis.

We kinda stumbled it to this restaurant(after a bad experience at Burgers and Brews) and were pleasantly surprised. The food was AMAZING and the server was super nice. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 starts was if someone was in a hurry(we were not) the wait time between appetizers and the meal was a little longer than in other restaurants. We ordered the goat cheese appetizers, Kobe sliders, a crab cake burger(?), and vanilla bean crème brûlée. Delicious and portion sizes perfect for a hungry diner.

So, I can here on a lovely sunny afternoon, excited to have pleasant conversation with friends over bottomless mimosas. Service was literally Impeccable. The bartender, a handsome beardedan in a blue checkered shirt was a great man. Funny, caring and smart. He even made sure that other workers came outside to specially accommodate us. They even let us push tables together. THATSWHAT I LOVEABOUTTHEBISTRO. It’s nicer than your normal brunch, but still the quote service of a fancy restaurant. Maybe water didn’t come fast enough, but bottomless mimosas were great, ND the food was beautifully planted and delicious. Please come Chexm this place out for the ambience and the food, especially on a sunny day.

Bistro is a good place to grab a drink on a warm weeknight or a sunny afternoon happy hour, but serves otherwise forgettable food. Most college kids come here Thursday for mojito night, where you can get a pitcher(and also fruit flavored i.e. peach or dragonfruit) for $ 15. The menu here for dinner is pretty limited, and mostly typical American faire such as flatbread or sandwiches. I had some kind of French dip and it wasn’t terrible but pretty overpriced. What this place has going for it is the ambiance– it’s nice to sit under hanging lamps or next to a fire while sipping some booze.

Came just a little bit before happy hour for happy hour(around 3PM) on a Wednesday and the bartender was happy to have us there. There was only about 2 – 4 other people at the restaurant/bar and slowly picked up around 5PM. FOOD: Ordered sausage flatbread and enchilada dip with tortilla chips and shared between two people. Total came out to be about $ 11 during happy hour. — Spicy Italian sausage flatbread: Was ok. First glance at it, it was brunt on the sides but I didn’t taste it when eating it. The olives on it add a lot of flavor to the almost tasteless sausage. If I ate this blindfolded and was told there was sausage on it, I wouldn’t have believed it. It might have been that the cheese and other flavors were more overwhelming than the sausage. It definitely was not spicy in anyway, too. I feel like I definitely should have ordered the pizza instead of the flatbread. — Baked Chicken Enchilada dip: Very delicious and would definitely go back to eat again. Had bits of chicken in it with some salsa and sour cream on top. It was well put together and the oil was not oozing out from the cheese. The chips that went along with it were very crispy and tasted like they were fresh.(Not sure if they make it at the restaurant) Overall, a nice place to go for happy hour because it wasn’t too loud. I don’t think I will be coming back here again for happy hour because of the lack of selection of foods and generally the prices on the regular menu are a bit too much for me. Honestly, there wasn’t really anything too special to me at this place.

Don’t really understand the hate on here. Place had a perfect atmosphere outside separated from the street. They didn’t mind that we had our baby with us.(We walked her around when she was fussy). Very nice selection of food, cocktails were great. Food tbh didnt stand out as 5 stars but for a bistro near a college it was perfect. Best Bloody Mary I’ve had in a while. Service was nice and with 10% off on Unilocal it was great. Would happily come back again.

Cool, quaint place. Came for happy hour. HH menu and drinks a plus I must say. Sliders were just ok nothing spectacular. I thought it was ground beef or chuck it was like roast beef type meat. Enchilada dip was quite tasty and delicious. And the crostini with goat cheese was very tasty. I’ll need to come back for the full menu next. Bartender’s service was great and he was friendly!

I admit I was a bit iffy eating here at first when I found out it was a sister restaurant to 33rd Street Bistro in Sac, where I had a so-so less-than-memorable experience. However, Bistro 33 has a very inviting atmosphere from the outside — plenty of tables and an outdoor fireplace! My friends and I decided to eat here because we had passed by 3 – 4 places already. It was actually a 20 – 25 minute wait, and we waited for about half of that time frame. They text you when your table is ready… fancy! Side note, the hostess was very friendly and she was so sweet! Definitely a really great choice to have a nice, but affordable, dinner. Next time I would even opt to sit outside if it wasn’t so cold. They have many options on their menu but the Philly cheesesteak Hawaiian roll sliders caught my eye right away! I was also able to try their crisscut fries and their enchilada dip too — yum! The bad? Well, there was a bug in my water cup. Or a leaf… either way, it didn’t belong there. That was off-putting. Also, the food took a pretty long time to come out… almost 45 minutes, and the restaurant wasn’t full anymore by the time we were sat down. But the food and atmosphere were enough to earn a fair 4-star review in my opinion.

I’m going to give this place the benefit of the doubt and a three star rating primarily because our server was excellent. We stopped by for dessert and cocktails so this review is based just on that — we didn’t eat dinner or a meal. We grabbed a seat outside and our server was truly efficient and super friendly. We ordered the donuts, coffee, and I asked for a manhattan with very specific directions. Even though they say they offer espresso and different blends of coffee they really don’t — it’s just simple restaurant coffee that is pretty marginal and my partner didn’t finish it. The donuts were great — they are served on a long platter with three dipping sauces of honey butter, strawberry compote, and melted chocolate. Served warm with a dusting of sugar they were a fun treat. I asked for my manhatten — straight up, STIRRED and NOT shaken(as a pure and traditional manhattan should be made), light on the vermouth with a lemon twist. The first one arrived and was very good — made exactly as I asked. The second one — oooops! The bartender must have screwed up and then told the server to tell me that they were giving me an ‘extra’ pour. Hint — when you screw up a drink that was requested with very specific directions most likely your customer is a bartender themselves and don’t make the server lie to cover your mistake. What was brought to me was a sloshy, drippy, watery drink with little shards of ice floating throughout the drink — definitely NOT stirred and since I ordered a top shelf drink and was paying for Makers Mark this angered me – now my excellent bourbon is watered down. When you shake the sh** out of a cocktail it makes it watery and little shards of ice float throughout the drink — quite distasteful. So — lesson to the bartender — the next time you screw up my drink I’m going to refuse it and walk out, so just make the drink the way it was requested and don’t put your server in a position to lie to the customer.

We came here on a whim because I have never been here before and hubs wanted to take me to a new place to try. We walked in and we were greeted by the hostess and then led through the restaurant which was dim in lighting to somewhere far in the back of the whole place. We waited for 7 minutes before a server came to take our drink order. We got water to start and hubby made his on drink, while i got a soda. We ordered the sweet fries to share, hubs ordered Beef Au Jus Sandwich and I the Buttermilk Fried Chicken with Polenta and Squash for our mains. Sweet fries came out they were a tad over cooked. Mains came 15 mintues after that. Hubs dish was just bread cheese, meat and the au jus and no side. Mines was small portion of fried chicken on top of the polenta and they had added sriracha as décor on the plate? Which became overwhelming in spice for me, so all i tastes was spicy(i dont eat spicy food it upsets my stomach). The food is mediocre at best and with very high end prices for what they give you. Kinda disappointing in my honest opinion. The sever didnt really come by to check on us as much as I’d like them to, just seems uninterested. The food was expensive and not very good. The only thing that have going for them is the outdoor patio they have, it’s usually quiet and they have a fire pit going when its a cold night. Good place to sit back and relax with friends or family and have a drink. Don’t think I’ll ever be back here for food ever again maybe a drink or two. 2.5 stars is what I would give em but I had to round it up.

We really enjoyed our food here. We came in on a Sunday, around 2, and the hostess staff could not have been more friendly. Our waiter was a little odd– and service took a while, and he forgot our drinks– but the food was really good, so all is pretty much forgiven. We had the big salad with chicken pieces, and sandwich with crab and shrimp(insanely good!) and the sandwich with pesto– also good. We ordered the angel hair pasta with goat cheese for the table– it was kind of bland, and I would not order that again. The salad and sandwiches were excellent, though, and I will go back. If they could get better servers I think this place would be excellent. At any rate, we’ll go back– I want that sandwich again. I also wanted to try the specialty lemonade drink– but they were out.

Bottomless Mimosas. What else do I really need to say?! I ordered mimosas here on a Sunday morning and after about 3 – 4 glasses in they brought me a pitcher. I love sitting outside and enjoying the weather while eating the best scrambles and omelettes ever. Pretty good service.

Saturday and after a brutal Moonlight Half Marathon, my body, mind and soul was craving for a cold beer and burger. We went to downtown and found this place. The place it is really nice… Love the bar area, wide, spacious and open. Not your typical bar where everyone is almost touching either. We ordered some beers, they were good but I prefer a very cold beer. But enough to calm my body that evening. We ordered some meatballs and sliders with fries and that was delicious!!! I don’t know if was that I was really hungry after the race but it was really good. Overall, it a good choice to enjoy a late afternoon in the Davis area.

Eaten here many many times. While I agree it’s not the greatest I think it’s better than the Unilocal rating it currently has. I believe the rating to be artificially low because the cost of the meal is more than it should be. But with the real estate this place has(by far the best patio seating in Davis) I think diners are paying the rent. That being said, the hostesses are generally unfriendly too which can’t help. The servers are great, the food it’s mostly good, and bar drinks are inconsistent(some days good some days awful). They have a decent menu and all and all a safe bet for a meal.

I’ve only been here on Thursday which is Mojito night but it’s a fun place to be with friends. It gets pretty packed so come early to find a table while everyone else waits in line to get in outside. Their Mojitos are okay, it’s definitely made different every time. Some pitchers are good, some taste like straight up mint like you’re brushing your teeth… So I’ve had like a 50:50 ratio of good and bad ones. They’re fun but… ehhh they end up being undrinkable(lol that’s not even a word) Be patient with the bartenders during Mojito night or else you will get skipped haha. I saw a couple of people thinking they own the bar get skipped. Sometimes it takes a reaaaalllly long time to even get noticed, but it’s understandable. 3 for the eh drink and the eh service. **Get a devastator if you want to pass out! HAHAHA** they should really consider putting a warning label on that thing…

So at first I was like«this place is 2.5 stars, let me give it a chance.» Let’s cut right to the chase, this place deserves its 2 stars. Went here with my gf. We were pretty hungry and looking for a good meal. As we walked in they let us sit anywhere we wanted to, inside or outside, nice gesture. Look through the menu, I chose the kobe beef sliders. In the meantime, I order a fresh orange cocktail, refreshing cocktail with orange slices in the drink, highly recommend this cocktail. It’s a light cocktail, won’t get ya drunk, won’t get ya buzzed, but it tastes great, I’d describe it as ‘sparkling OJ.‘ Anytime I’m excited for my meal at this point. The waiter hands me my kobe beef sliders. I’m literally given two extremely small sliders not burgers but sliders and a side of fries. This was an insult to my appetite, to pay 14 dollars for two sliders adds gas to the fire. It is a crime that they can call this«sliders» for that price and meeting the bare definition of the name. I don’t know why the kobe beef sliders are not on the small plates section of the menu. I don’t know how that could fill anyone up. When you enter an establishment and you pay 50 dollars for a dinner, you would expect to be a tiny bit satisfied. Not the case here.

The first thing that caught my eye about this place was the gorgeous outdoor seating area. It is located right in downtown and made for a great place to grab Sunday brunch! The food was pretty good and there were many options on the menu! The crab and artichoke dip was the highlight of our meal, it was delicious and paired nicely with flatbread. The service was very attentive and our waitress Gloria provided excellent service during the entire meal!

So it’s a Saturday afternoon at 3. The place is only half full. So why did my small order of just a sandwich and soup take 40 whole minutes to arrive? The better question is, why did I wait 40 minutes? My girlfriend and I were starving, it was hot and we parked too far to go somewhere else, and after a long 2 hour drive to davis all I wanted to do was sit and enjoy a meal. FOOD: We ordered the the Seafood Club Panini(has crab cake, shrimp, avocado, bacon) and tomato basil soup to share. The food was delicious, but definitely not worth 40 minutes. The panini is big enough to share and have extras. They’re so packed with goodness that they’re held together with a skewer and served with fresh house made kettle chips. The soup had fresh tomato flavor and with every spoonful there was cheesy goodness. STILLNOTWORTHMY40MINS. We also asked for water and that came AFTER our food. I don’t understand. There wasn’t even a «sorry about the long wait» it was like«I’m gonna throw this food on your table and run away to avoid your awkward death glares» –_– Also it’s very strange because their menus are not consistent. My girlfriend and I noticed that my menu had something hers didn’t have(the cubano panini) and hers had something mine didn’t(the seafood club panini). Why not fix your menus so they’re consistent??? Overall, despite the good food and nice outdoor patio, I’ve never waited so long for food at a half empty place where the waiters were standing around talking and doing nothing. It would be different if you were busy. But you weren’t. The service was horrendous. I wish we would’ve just left without paying, but we’re better people. Still really upset about this whole experience and I don’t think anyone I know will be coming here.

Finally been to this place during the day and not for mojito night on Thirsty Thursday(which I love!). My roomie and I came for Happy Hour so everything was $ 5 on the Bar Eats menu! There is food that is originally as much as $ 12.95 on there, so it’s a really good deal in some cases! My roomie got sliders and I got a goat cheese dip with bread! My meal was good for $ 5, but I definitely wouldn’t get it for the original price. I still need to check this place out for Sunday Brunch… They have BOTTOMLESSMIMOSAS!

I don’t think this place is worth it unless you are here for a special deal, such as the bottomless mimosa brunch. Came here on a Saturday excited for brunch and left quite disappointed. — THEFOOD I ordered the Northwestern Scramble, which is scrambled eggs with salmon, dill, tomatoes, cheese, sour cream, and green onion. Since I don’t really love dairy products, I asked for the dish without cheese and sour cream. There was an ample amount of salmon bits in the scramble but there was no taste and even the tomatoes were bland. The potatoes that came with the scramble were completely burnt and tasted weird. For $ 13, I did not think there was anything special and it was not worth it. +/-THE ENVIRONMENT The seating area for this restaurant is absolutely gorgeous. There are a lot of spaces both inside and outside the restaurant. There are plenty of heaters outside to accommodate for dining at night. There is even a huge fire pit that makes the restaurant seem cozy. While my friend and I sat outside to eat, it soon because too hot for us and there weren’t enough umbrellas outside so we had to wait for another table to leave in order for us to take over their spot. There were also a LOT of bugs flying around, making it really uncomfortable to enjoy the nice weather outside. Overall, I don’t think I will be back unless there was something REALLY special going on.
