Angie is amazing! My hair gets crazy dry split ends extremely quickly, and I need a regular trim which gets expensive. She is efficient, nice, and does exactly what I need. I feel comfortable just giving her general guide lines and letting her do her work. Her salon is cute and pleasant. I have always loved my hair cuts from her, and, what’s more, I don’t leave broke!

I’ve been going to Angie’s for the last 3 years. When I first moved to Davis I went to a barber downtown but switched to Angie because she does a really good job and find her much more likeable. She is really good with men’s hair, pretty much the perfect stylist for men.

Quite a nice owner, able to drop in and not wait too long, but very disappointed in the haircut. Very superficial– literally done on less than 10 minutes. I pointed out that the sides were uneven, and she made a few more cuts but I gave up asking after this repeated a few times. Lack of attention to hair length means that now, two weeks later, my hair is very uneven and needs a cut to fix. A waste of money, and for a man’s cut the price is not cheap to begin with.

Eh… I really wanted to love this place. Tiny and standalone, I love rooting for the little guy. I’d recently gotten a haircut elsewhere, but wanted to have the sides shortened a bit and get my neck cleaned up. A man with a seeing-eye dog came in at exactly the same time, and I was frankly a little appalled by Angie’s behavior. He asked if there was somewhere his dog could sit during his haircut and she warily suggested he put the dog outside. Thankfully a nice lady with color processing in her hair offered for the dog to remain INSIDE with her. I feel like her reluctance to have a service dog in her establishment broke ALLSORTS of ADA compliance laws, but he was super chill about it. As far as my cut… like I said, I wanted simple. I have short hair, and it grows super fast. Clean up the sides and back a little and shave my neck. She did an ok job blending, but I wasn’t blown away. What killed me the most is she blocked the bottom, at my nape. I don’t understand why anybody would EVER block a woman’s haircut. I have to wait for the hair to grow in a bit before I attempt to shape the back again… but seriously. Don’t block women’s hair! Overall, I was unimpressed. Her demeanor was brusque, the interaction with the man and his dog made me super angry, and I got a mediocre/meh haircut out of the deal. As a newbie to Davis, I will continue my quest for an awesome, affordable salon.

I’ve been searching for 4 years for someone like Angie! You’d be amazed at how many affordable haircutters don’t understand how to cut hair that isn’t parted from the middle. When I first went to Angie she knew exactly what to do when I said that all I needed was a simple trim. The price is also right with her. :) I try to visit her every 3 months. She’s honest with her feedback and opinions, which I appreciate. I have never had this much confidence in a haircutter before. :) Thanks Angie!

At $ 17 for long hair, Angie’s is definitely one of the more competitive places in Davis, based on pricing. I can’t really say the experience was extraordinary(in either a good or a bad way); it was pretty routine. I called in around 3:50 pm to get a price quote and to ask how long the wait was. When I got there, there was no wait, which was a plus! I tell Angie exactly what I want(tapered length in the back, bangs to my nose in the front, trim off split ends), and she finishes in 5 min. I can’t say this was the best haircut I’ve had, but hey, it does the job. I don’t really pay too much attention to my hair, so your experience might be different if you get some more in-depth work on your hair.

I’m sure she is normally not disappointing(only came here once so I can not say for sure,) but was not happy with experience. Understand that the haircut is priced very low, but for 17 $ I still expect to have a decent hair cut. Ended up «cutting» my hair in literally 3 min. Brushing out my tangles AND«cutting» my hair in 3 min. Fastest hair cut I have ever got. Wasn’t thrilled to say the least. Angie herself is sweet. But would not return for hair cut.

I had TERRIBLE experience. I came in to get a very basic haircut. I wanted a trim and some layers. Angie barely gave me time to explain what I wanted. She didn’t wash my hair, but instead violently brushed my hair and cut it dry. She was literally just grabbing pieces of my hair and cutting them carelessly. It took her no more than 15 minutes and by the end of it, I had one sad layer and triangle head. The haircut was so sloppily done and unflattering! After, I decided I needed to get it fixed because it was horrid looking. So I rushed over to Salon Blonde and one of the nice ladies there, Aubrey, fit me in and fixed me up. She was appauled at how terribly the layers were cut! By the end of that visit, my hair looked very nice and my layers were how I wanted them. Bottom line, don’t waist your time at Angie’s. Salon Blonde is pricier, but well worth it!

My boyfriend gets his hair cuts here and that says a lot! He is very hard to please and the only person who can always leave him pleased is his sister who is a hair stylist. He usually traveled back to see her in SJ until he came here. Angie does a great job on his hair and the one time she left a little bit of hair longer than the rest, she fixed it for him even though she had appointments. She is really nice and accommodating.

This place does not have that typical chemical smell that most hair salons do. It is also quite cozy. I went in without an appointment and was serviced in less than 5 minutes by Angie(It was around Tuesday 330ish PM). I told her what I wanted and she gave it to me, not more or less. Since it was a trim, it took her maybe 10ish minutes to finish. *Note: hair was not washed* The price is justified by the service she gives. I will come back again the next time I need a trim. But I probably will not get my hair styled here.

I come here because Angie’s is the best value for a haircut, at $ 17. Women’s haircut prices at other salons are exorbitant. I will never pay more than $ 25 for a haircut because all I ever need is a simple 1 inch trim. No shampoo or styling necessary. I am always a walk-in so it is a risk whether Angie is busy with customers, but I’ve found the best time is after 3pm on a weekday. She works fast and sometimes it is an imperfect cut that leaves a few random hairs too long(easy enough to see and correct myself later). Angie herself is always friendly and professional. I’ve been going to Angie’s for years and I have been satisfied with every haircut.

I did not have a good experience. I usually don’t have a problem because I have a very uncomplicated hairstyle, it’s just long with layers. I went in as a walk-in, and I told her I wanted a trim with my layers cleaned up. She didn’t wash my hair or get it wet, which I found a little odd. Then she just started cutting straight across, I didn’t even want to correct her because it was clear she wasn’t going to be able to produce the look I was going for. I was in and out in a total of 7 minutes, which is not something to brag about. At the end I looked like I had just taken my ponytail and chopped it off. I immediately went to a more expensive salon to have my hair fixed, I learned my lesson about going to a cheap salon. I would not recommend this salon!

So relieved to find a place that does a haircut with highlights at a reasonable price. Let’s be honest: I am vain. I’m not going to pretend I don’t psychologically have a lot riding on my appearance. I am just as vain and gorgeous as they come, like the wicked witch from Snow White. Just as mean and vain and really concerned with my looks as can be. Convinced? Good. So trust me that I wouldn’t get a sub par or even less than excellent haircut and highlights and then, having no idea I looked like a hippie in the middle of a Burning Man dust storm who took a minute to douse my hair in bottled water, tell you to go to this place. Angie knows what she is doing, she knows how to do it quickly, she has loads of trashy mags, and her eye for color is spot on. She has a good balance of letting you direct what you kind of think you want and adding her own expert eye. She is also kind and unfailingly sweet. I’ve taken up regularly straightening my hair after she finished my cut, color, blow out with her flat iron and now everyone thinks I’m just visiting from Hollywood. I get loads of compliments on my hair and it totally reinforces my externally referenced need for attention while diminishing my need to poison co-eds because they’re younger and prettier than me.

I have really long hair so normally other places charge me minimum 70 dollars even though my hair is all one length, no layers, and all I ever get are trims. Angie did an amazing job and the price was only 17 $!! This is a great place to go if youre money conscious!

I got a haircut here a while back. The price for a haircut was extremely cheap($ 17 for women and $ 15 for men) compared to other hair salons in Davis which can end up costing over $ 40. Furthermore, the ladies who work there were extremely friendly. The reason I am giving the salon 3 stars is because the cut I got could have been better. My bangs ended up being a bit uneven(I just fixed it myself). However, I suppose you get what you pay for, so it’s not a big deal. Since I’m on a college student’s budget, I’ll probably come back to Angie’s to get my hair trimmed(but not styled). All in all, Angie’s is a good place to go if you’re looking for a haircut on a budget, but don’t have too high of expectations. So, if you’re looking for a cheap haircut
