Ok at best… first the place over looks parking lot and stores. The food is WAaaaay over priced for what you get and the service was the pits … Sorry not a fan.

The lobster roll. They do it right. I don’t really go for much else, but the rest of the food is great too. Service is ok. I had one woman yell at my kid during an empty lunch. But, not everyone likes kids, so I get it. If you have kids, I would suggest the outdoor patio or not to visit this place. It’s lovely for a date night or meeting friends. Pretty pricey, so once in awhile kind of place.

I came here with my friend for dinner. Fitz was great; the food came right away and we received a generous pour when ordering our second glass of wine. The chocolate chip cookie dessert was the best around, and we’ve tired of the subpar chocolate chip cookie a la mode desserts offered at various other local establishments.

The hamburger was soaked with grease and the chili was basically ground-beef seasoned with hamburger helper. Sorry to say that the waitress had an attitude too.

Slow service, bland entrees and a disinterested server. Saturday during lunch. Very disappointed as it looked great walking in and we’d heard from a friend that it was a nice place to go. Definitely will not be back.

Really enjoyable meal! Loved the spinach salad and ribs! Our waitress made a fun drink with fresh ginger– we spanned 3 generations and we all loved Jimmy’s! Nice space, great location for commuters.

Whispering angel wine being poured at 15 a glass. Dark. Loud. Behind the supermarket. Can’t imagine EVER going back. Especially as 4 glasses of wine was 57 bucks. Get serious…

This place has a great feel that goes along with some serious quality food and drinks. I ordered the Lobster Roll, which I consider to be the«margarita pizza» test of New England’s fine foods, and it was fantastic. Succulent, meaty lobster with the perfect side salad(I ditched the fries). In addition, they have some fun beers on tap and make some great cocktails. I splurged a little which added to my heightened experience. It’s a bit of an older scene, but it’s an awesome spot. The bartender is quirky and hilarious. The owner is social and spearheads a great effort. The waitresses are young and fun and do a good job tending to their customers. I highly recommend this place! A true local spot.

I think the first couple reviews were right in that the place needed to shake out a couple cobwebs as it was opening. My first experience with this place was not so great but this was shortly after they opened. I went in there on a weekend night and it was quite crowded. We ordered a couple drinks and started going over the menu. Maybe it was their lack of options, maybe it was my partial bitterness about Phil’s Grill closing(I loved their wings) but nothing stood out. Duck? $ 25 roasted chicken? This used to be Phil’s Grill! We ended up ordering calamari, finishing our drinks and going elsewhere for dinner. Flash forward to 2013 and we decide to give it another shot. We were pleasantly surprised to find a host of new options on the menu: burgers, ribs, etc. Much more down to earth and diverse. We ended up ordering the burger, calamari, and beet salad. All dishes were pretty good… nice crisp calamari, juicy burger, etc. We have since been back for a 3rd visit and had lunch for an equally good visit. I would say that if you came in 2012 when this place first opened and were spurned by your experience, give it another shot, they definitely shook out the cobwebs. –md

first timer ~ not the last for certain. my party of four had no complaints only compliments. the food, service, drinks, remodel, location, & happy boisterous patrons, etc. were all excellent. there was a man behind the bar. i think he is part owner. wayne(?). hysterical, interesting, & a hunk. i think he is taken. lucky girl. anyway, fun was had by all. looking forward to my next trek to jimmy’s.

Still in shakeout phase, I hope. Otherwise this place is doomed. This used to be «Phil’s Grill», a perfectly wonderful family restaurant. Now, I’m not sure what it is. Bigger, yes. More expensive, oh yeah. And now with a full bar, unfortunately. This place feels more«Stamford» but has Darien prices. The wait staff is neither warm and welcoming nor competent(A simple order of a salad and two entrees came entrees first, salad only after I reminded the server). The waitresses take the orders but a single Hispanic server does all the work(and does so with charm and hospitality!). They make a good $ 10 burger and the taco’s plate at $ 14 is also good. But those are the cheapest things on the menu, so budget accordingly. The bar is big and noisy with the boisterous boozers definitely intruding on the enjoyment of the diners just feet away. The interior redo doesn’t help… all hard, sound reflecting surfaces. With so many better alternatives now in Darien(Bodega, Estias, even 1020 Post), I don’t think we’ll be back here again soon.

I was so excited to try this place and I’d heard good things from a couple of friends. However, I have to say, my experience was almost identical to what I had when it was known as Phil’s Grill. Specifically, my burger was a total grease bomb. I’m not somebody who gets upset about a few drops(that’s TASTE afterall) but this was just a mess or grease such that the bottom of the bun had to be discarded three quarter’s of the way through. It didn’t help that our server seemed indifferent to us and never said«thank you» when she brought the check. Sure, it was kind of busy, but that’s no excuse in my opinion. A table nearby actually left money for their drinks and walked out as they never received proper attention. So the service was not great, suffice it to say! Since I happen to trust the opinion of my friends and my wife, who said this had to be an off night, I will give it two stars instead of the one I’d have given it in the absence of their opinions. But I’m not itching to go back. I’m guessing they’ll do really good business given the bar area is pretty cool and during the spring/summer they should do well with the new patio.
