No wonder this place is always empty! The food is mediocre ATBEST and the customer service is atrocious. I had a voucher for $ 10 off $ 15 and she wouldn’t honor it when my total came to $ 14.50BEFORETAXES. This is no way to do business and obtain new customers and because of this, I will never come here again.

The service is the worst I’ve ever met. The waiter almost ate us just because we added something on our order. He argued with us for 23 mins(yes, I counted the time). He just wanted to let us know the customers were wrong and he as a waiter was so right! The meal is just so so which cannot makeup the worst attitude. We had 9 friends together and we had the worst dinner experience. If you were not be able to provide qualified service, please leave this industry. We’ll never come back to this restaurant again!

They have experienced Hibachi chefs that perform well and made tasty food. However, the air circulation and the interior deco and carpet are old, that it caused bad smell in the restaurant.

Eat here a lot, and have for years. If you like sushi, this place is surprisingly good. I might even say this is the best sushi in the area. If you like stuff like general tso’s chicken, this isn’t your best bet as the amount of effort they seem to put into it is minimal. But if you like sushi it’s great and the hibachi ain’t bad either.

I would recommend this place for everything but the food. The hibachi chefs are a lot of fun, wait staff is great at dealing with large groups, there’s a fun bar section with karaōke on Fridays and it’s spacious. The food is honestly pretty greasy and all the dishes taste similar, minus the actual differences in ingredients. It is a lot of fun, would recommend for big groups(we had 20+).

Have been more than a few times and food is decent but nothing stands out as too great. The latest health department ratings really does it for me; how can a place that doesn’t take the safety of it’s customers seriously expect to survive in Darien? It’s just not acceptable, there’s nothing left to say in my book.

This seems like a restaurant thats more of a chinese mix with japanese than just straight up japanese food which is typical for connecticut. For $ 10 I was able to get a bento box and it came with soooooo much food. It honestly made my day how much food was in there. My bento came with california rolls but I hate seafood and asked them to take it out. They did, I just wish they filled the empty space with more rice. Then again that’s my fault for not asking but i was still satisfied. Tasted pretty good for the price I can’t complain, it made me happy. I ordered take out but honestly coming inside to pick it up was tragic. The décor is so bad!!! Traditional looking japanese décor with 80s rugs… it was so confusing. Honestly if they invest in some new flooring and modern décor they’d have lotssss of young people in there and more business.

We went to Fuji to celebrate my Birthday Nov 7th. First the staff was friendly and bends over backards for the customer. They wished me a Happy birthday 3 times! They really care about their customers. Food was fresh and hibachi cook was very very funny! Pricey like most good hibachi restaurants are but definitely worth it. I had the chicken and steak combo and woke up today 3lbs lighter also so its a win win healthy meal all around! Go and you wont regret it!!!

Went here for lunch with my wife. We were very pleased with the service and quality. The place looks very nice from the outside but is even nicer inside. The waiter was very attentive and on point. Our sushi was fresh and tasted awesome. The roll with lobster actually had a big price of lobster in it. The lunch special sushi was great. This place is not expensive at all but it’s also not the cheapest. It is well worth the money though.

some dishes are good, but the double cooked pork is terrible. The cook should learn how to make it much better. Waiting time is a little bit long. Overall not so bad.

Good food, good atmosphere, awesomely fresh sushi and the hibachi masters are very entertaining. Our family had a great time, great meal and great family gathering so I guess that’s all you can ask from a place. I would recommend Fuji of Japan and will probably be our go to Japanese restaurant when we are in town.

We always have hibachi here since my kids love it. recently the manager introduce us their new szechuan dishes it was amazing, hand down the best Chinese food in this area. Great solid place! Wish it was actually MORE spicy. we got following: — twice cooked pork(classic Szechuan dish) — Squirrel Fish(not spicy) boneless deep-fried whole fish w. pine nuts, pork, green beans, carrots in sweet fruity sauce — Sliced beef with Roasted Chili in Broth
We will definitely come back!

Having been to over 10 Hibachi restaurants and never writing a bad review tells you already how horrible this place was. To start– before the chef came I smelled 4 different weird odors and was brought to a dirty grill(which was never cleaned when the chef came). We should’ve known enough to leave right then just like the people in front of us did. The waiter was kind of rude, definitely not the friendliest. We ordered a coke and diet coke and they both tasted horrible we sent them back. The chef took 45 minutes to come out. I ordered fried rice and noodles, which is an extra $ 4. The noodles was angel hair with soy sauce, I make better lo mein noodles and I’m by no means a chef. I think he forgot to portion enough rice for me(I was last) but rather than make more he gave me the tiny bit left over that I believe he was going to share with everyone. The steak and chicken was ok nothing special. The ginger sauce, which I usually use when I don’t love the meat, was horrible. Then the shrimp which was cooked at the end because of an allergy was cooked in brown bits that were scraped after everything else was cooked but then not cleaned off, it was just left all over to cook the shrimp in. The shrimp was black and disgusting. To top it off for 2 people this came to $ 100, I know hibachi isn’t cheap but never that much for horrible food. Safe to say we will never be back!

We’ve been going to Fuji as long as it has been open. During their long renovation I would drive by and sigh. We only eat Hibachi, so cannot comment on the dining room. When our son was growing up it was one of the few restaurants we could all agree on. I like seeing how fresh the food is, enjoy the chefs and always leave feeling satisfied but not stuffed. More often than not there is a interesting discussion at the table. Yes, Sakura is a bit more elegant. I’ve noticed that there is little interchange between diners at the table, must be a Westport thing. For my money a quick ride to Darien is better than half an hour to Sakura.

We love this’s place its a great environment. The food is really good we always do hibachi just because that’s what we like. My wife usually gets the hibachi steak and chicken and I usually get the hibachi lobster and shrimp which are always really good he comes with rice and soup and we’re big fans of this place they’re always friendly service. The only downside to this place and the reason we don’t give it five stars is because they charge for each refill of soda and the drinks are very expensive so we tend to either just get one soda or plan on spending a little extra I wish they had free refill so that’s our one complaint.

Food is great! Staff is helpful but once you sit down for hibachi, they tend to be in a rush and it is hard to get something to drink after the chef is cooking you food. But I just order two drinks and then your all set! :)

Went for lunch, place was empty, sat at sushi bar and got 3 rolls, miso soup, salad and sake. Rolls were good and sushi chef was nice and talkative.

Came here because of the Unilocal deal with my kids. The waiter was reasonably personable and the kids enjoyed the whole hibachi concept. The food was pretty blah and the beef was overcooked. On the whole I would say that the place isn’t terrible, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here.

The food was bland and the chef had no energy. The fried rice had barely any soy sauce or flavoring and was not fried. The vegetables were still raw when we got them as well. I grew up going here as a kid and I will never go back after this last experience.
