Alpha Tv

I had a 50″ Samsung plasma TV suddenly die out of the blue one day. It wasn’t but 4 years old, so I decided to do what I’ve never done with a TV in my life: seek a repair instead of throwing it out and buying a new one.
I called Alpha and a tech named Mike came out that same day after calling multiple times prior to arrival to tell me where he was and when he’d get to my house. He did better in this regard than virtually all other repair or delivery services I’ve dealt with in the past 10 years — you know, those companies that just give you a vague «We’ll be there sometime between 8am-​5pm» and tie up your whole day because you have to stay at the house wondering when they’ll show up.
He opened up the TV and determined that two boards had failed and needed to be replaced. He didn’t have the parts already on hand, but told me he’d order them and it would be about a week until they came in.
He called me multiple times over the next several days to check in and assure me that he’d ordered the parts and would come and fix the TV ASAP as soon as he got them. I really appreciated him taking the time to do that rather than leave me in the dark like other companies — that was good customer service that I honestly wasn’t expecting!
Needless to say, the parts came in and he installed them in the TV. It was instantly fixed and has been working for months. It cost me in total about $ 300 which wasn’t that much more than the cost of the two boards themselves, and way less than buying a brand new TV.
Alpha got the job done within a reasonable time at a good price and provided excellent customer service. If that doesn’t get a business 5 stars then I don’t know what does.

We called Alpha Tv around 10AM Dec 23, Mike Ferguson (the owner) answered and told us he’d be out later that afternoon. He called around 2:00 PM the same day and said he was in the area and asked if he could stop by within the hour.
He looked at our TV and determined that it was the power board. He tried fixing it but was unable to. He said he might have a power board at his shop and asked if he could take our old one, which he did. He called a few days later (we’d told him we weren’t in any hurry) and said he didn’t have a board but could order one.
About a week later he called and said he could come by and see if the new board works. He stopped by, installed the board within a half hour and our TV is as good as new.
For a new power board and the service charge it only set us back $ 185.
I would definitely recommend this company.
