Lost my business right off the bat. Called to ask about prices to get a nice gift certificate for a massage and whoever answered the phone could actually make use of a massage herself. I’m sorry if your website is not clear making potential customers to call to clarify details prior to buying a gift to someone. Getting frustrated over the phone with a couple of basic questions to me is unacceptable! Wish there was an option for no stars…

I had visited this charming salon/​spa previously for pampering (see my past review on massage and facial services) and felt confident that I could get a good haircut here as well, and I wasn’t disappointed. You get what you pay for and it’s worth every penny.
First, when I called and made an appointment with Chris I was impressed with the automated appointment reminder sent to my email. I probably wouldn’t have forgotten the date but the reminder was helpful when I double checked the exact time. After my visit I was also provided with an e-​receipt which I appreciated.
On appointment day I arrived early and was greeted warmly on a cold stormy afternoon. The friendly surroundings helped offset my anxiety about having someone new cut my hair. Chris didn’t make me wait long. She welcomed me with a smile and made me feel comfortable as she took me in early.
Often times it seems a hair stylist doesn’t listen closely to what is desired but I felt Chris was attentive to my needs and did exactly as I asked. My hair needed some shaping and seemed rather drab but once Chris was finished it had shine, bounce and life (forgive me if I sound like a Clairol commercial). On my past visit I was impressed with Chris’s professionalism, now I’m impressed with her hair styling skills.
The best part, once home my husband made a remark that I looked great and my new hair made me look younger! Was it the cut, or the conditioning gloss? I don’t know but I’ll take it and give Chris all the credit!

I had a facial with Paulette and I am very happy with the result. She did the best to accommodate my sensitive skin and at the end of the treatment my face felt healthy and clean.

Unbelievable business and customer service outstanding! I rarely write reviews but Chris went way out of her way to fix a small mix up. I have refereed this business to friends because of how great they are. I have had a few massages and I always receive follow up phone calls. Massage therapists are the best in the business!

I have been a customer at Jolie Salon for many years. My hairstylist Chris, also the owner, is the best colorist in the area. She will recommend colors that work with your particular skin tone or eye color. She is excellent with short or long hair and keeps up to date by educating herself on new products and processes. I am a customer for life.

I just had my third appointment with Lara. I thanked her for being the first stylist to actually listen to what kind of cut and color I was looking for. She is amazing! As you know, it is extremely hard to find someone great, I would highly recommend her. Thank you!

I love Lara at Jolie Salon! I’ve gone to her several times to cut and color my hair and have always been so happy with the results, even better than expected! :) The salon and spa itself it amazing, staff is so sweet and welcoming and it has the most relaxing, at home atmosphere. Lara Albertsen is simply amazing! I’ve been getting my haircut and styled by her for over a year and actually followed her when she came to Jolie.
First, the salon itself is charming, relaxing, and friendly.
Second, Lara’s cuts are the best. I have thick, long Asian hair and have always had difficulty finding a hairstylist to work with my hair my whole life… until I met Lara! She listens and really cares about her clients needs. She really understands hair and doesn’t do «cookie cutter» styles. Rather she layers and frames to my specific head shape and somehow her cuts give volume, flow, and natural style that surpasses all previous cuts. Recently I moved to a new city 3 hours away but rather than find a new salon I still see Lara every few months when I return to Danville to visit because she’s worth the wait.
Highly recommend. I’ll be a Lara client for as long as possible :)

Lara Albertson is magical! I’ve been going to her for color and cut for a year now. I trust her so I just plop down in her chair and tell her to do whatever… And every time I could not be happier. Yesterday she also did my make up for a photo shoot. Seriously magical! I would give her 10 stars if it were and option.

Jan has been my stylist for many years. My hair was dry and damaged. Her color expertise made my hair very shiny and healthy again. Leaving it looking very natural. I am beyond happy, and get lots of compliments for my hair! Thank you Jan!

I came here for a full pampering day on my birthday and had a massage by Leslie, facial by Laura and haircut by Jen (yes, serious pampering indeed!). I felt very welcome from the moment I came in and all the staff was very nice.
Let me just say, I am very picky when it comes to massage and I get them frequently and Leslie exceeded my expectations — she was amazing! The foot soak before was a great start and it doesn’t cut into the actual massage time, so I still got the full 90 minutes. I love a very deep tissue and Leslie delivered! She was very sweet, too! Laura did my microdermabrasion and did a great job. Finally, Jen did my hair and a requested scalp massage and I was more than pleased. After 3 and a half hours of pampering, I walked out feeling like a brand new person :)
I did come back to Jolie another time just for a massage and this time I had Kelley. While she had a good technique, it wasn’t strong enough for me like Leslie’s and I didn’t have the foot soak before (I wonder if the foot soak is done only when you book multiple treatments?)
Either way, I would highly recommend this salon — very nice and professional staff!

I have gone to several hair salons in Danville and other near areas and I can say that Jolie is really, really nice. The décor is very shabby and the atmosphere is exactly what I look for when I go to Spa.
Chaska has done my hair for over 6 years now and she has never disappointed. I give all starts to the place and one more star to Chaska. She knows her stuff very well! Thanks Chaska!

I had an upsetting experience at this salon recently during a haircut with Jan.
I came in 5 minutes late for my haircut appointment due to the wet conditions on 680. It seemed to start the appointment off on the wrong foot. I apologized, but Jan reacted indifferently toward me when she called me in to her station. So I said «I managed to be pretty much on time in spite of the rain slowing things down». She turned to the clock and snapped back, «Well, 8 minutes»! (Not too friendly a greeting to begin with).
A few minutes into the cut, her next client came in to announce that she was there! I thought that strange. It was not like we were keeping the lady waiting. So I told Jan that I’d never seen a client do that before; (not wait until it was time for her appointment in the reception area like everyone else). Jan abruptly argued back: «Well I’ve been doing this for 26 years and most of my clients do that»! I was shocked to say the least that she spoke to me in that tone.
Her attitude and whole demeanor put me on edge, and I wound up knocking my coffee mug and muffin on the floor. [There was no more than ½ cup of coffee in my mug btw when it fell], but Jan reacted as though the ceiling just came crashing down on her. Both her and the receptionist cleaned up the spill, during which she was either indifferent, or sarcastic to me, making me feel awful. She saw that she shut me down, and half-​heartedly apologized for upsetting me, especially since it was my birthday and I had a big day ahead. I asked her why she would talk to me like that, and her reply was merely that she was «just a high-​strung person»! If it was my client I would have been gracious, and said, Don’t worry, accidents happen all the time”.
This is a «spa» where indulgence is the objective, no matter what service you are having. I had intended to get a massage that day as well, and try their other sevices in the future like the eyebrow tattoo and eyelash extensions. I had already suggested having a girlfriend day there with my best friend. But I was extremely disappointed when I brought this situation to the owner’s attention, and found her to be obtuse in her reaction.
The whole experience indicated a lack of class in general, and I won’t be back. I frequent businesses that aim for a higher standard of customer treatment and satisfaction, than this one offers.

I saw Kelley here for a massage and it was absolutely fantastic!
In the midst of a very stressful week I came here to unwind. The space is so beautiful and relaxing that I knew as soon as I walked through the door that I had made the right decision. My treatment started with a consult with Kelley where I was able to explain what I was looking for and I immediately felt confident that she understood what I needed. Next I changed into a super cozy robe and got a hot foot soak, so luxurious! The massage was perfect, deep where I needed it most and soothing everywhere else. I am so happy I found Kelley and this excellent spa!

I love, love, love Meghan! My previous hair stylist moved and I tried several others recommended by friends, but just wasn’t able to find anyone that really could do a good job on my hair. Meghan came highly recommended and I’m so glad that I found her! My hair is thin and fine, but she makes it look beautiful! She does the most wonderful cut and color. And she is very, very nice. And finally, she has great style, so I trust her to give me stylish cuts.
And as others have mentioned, it is a charming salon! And all of the people are very nice. I also love Lesa, who takes my calls and books my time with Meghan. Everyone is just wonderful! So glad to have found Jolie Salon & Spa.

My 300^th review for Chaska Glover at Jolie Salon & Spa
I have been with Chaska for years, so when she moved from a salon down the street to this darling little house on Hartz Ave, I didn’t think much of it (Chaska’s my girl – she could do my hair in a station held in a cardboard box for all I care). However, last week when I went to my appointment in her new digs, I was pleasantly surprised… what a great Salon & Spa.
The place is SUPER CUTE with special touches all around; from the fruit infused water and the keurig at the front door to the interesting chandeliers/​decorations; Jolie shouts pampering & attention to detail!
As for Jolie’s latest addition: Chaska Glover, she is a genius when it comes to hair. Here’s why:
***She does great color, she knows the right shades to recommend and can steer you away from big disasters
***Her cuts hold style. I often will skip a cut now and again because her previous cut has grown into perfection
***She is so freakin’ nice. Don’t you just love being trapped in a chair for a couple hours with someone that is fun to talk to?
***She does a full blow out/​style no matter what you do. I always feel like I have to go out after a color/​cut b/​c my hair won’t look like it does until Chaska does it again. I’ve been to stylists that charge 40 bucks for that at the end of a «color but no cut» and it just bugs me to no end.
