After a wonderful first experience at Mc Gah’s we were so happy to return a second time for their country music night with Unilocal!I threw on my boots and we giddy up’ed over to Danville. Once again we found ourselves surrounded by familiar faces with Unilocal bandanas wrapped around them, and friends with drinks in hand. We started in the back of the bar, but our party quickly spilled out onto the back patio, which was actually a nice change from the loud music inside. While I enjoyed the live singing, the piano nights are definitely more fun — and just as loud! The patio was comfortable and we had lots of room to move around and mingle. The patio heaters were a little much for me so I stayed near the corners and watched Jenga towers rise and fall. I nibbled a few chips and met new friends. Another awesome night at a great establishment!

I would have never known this place existed, if I had not attended this event! I liked that this place was off of the main drag and that there was a covered patio area with a tv. The patio looked like it would be a great place to relax after work with friends. Loved the yummy bites, and the overall atmosphere… jenga, $ 2 Beers during happy hour, etc. I want to come back for the pianos!

This was my first Unilocal event at a bar, and it was pretty good. Lots of free food, a couple of free drinks, a free bandanna… good stuff. I met Nique for the first time and she hugged me like she knew me. She’s definitely the person for the job. The bar had put us in a weird spot initially, squeezed behind the band inside, but we just took over the patio and nobody seemed to care. Good service too.

Perfect after-work get together! Patio seating, martini, an array of appetizers and lots of great conversation. Thank you, McGah’s and Nique!

This event was super chill and low key — just like how I like my weeknights. I was introduced to McGah’s awhile ago at the dueling piano CMYE. That was a pleasant surprise. It’s nice to see McGah’s is still here with the same super chill vibe. I enjoyed the back patio a lot better than the cramped-behind-the-band quarters. Luckily, it was nice outside so we took our small party outside for some bites, drinks and regular hanging out. Those chips and dips were amazing as were the various French Fries. I missed the sandwiches and chicken nuggets because we ended up ordering a couple of appetizers off the $ 5 Unilocal menu. We ended up leaving half of our meal there because our eyes were bigger than our stomachs. Oh well, I ended up meeting the lovely Audrey L. who came back to the Bay after taking a bit of a detour to Australia. That’s not a bad place to be either — or so I’ve been told. It was good seeing some of my fellow pals I hadn’t seen in awhile enjoying a nice time. I’m glad that we didn’t have to yell over each other and we could still kinda hear the band at the same time. I’ll definitely be going back for another Dueling Pianos night and possibly trivia because the inner nerd in me loves finding new trivia spots. Thanks Nique for making us the new sheriff in town, at least for one night.

Just what I needed on a Thursday night. A small intimate Unilocal elite event with some of my favorite Unilocaler friends and the best CM ever, Nique! We were able to hang out in the back patio which was heated by heat lamps so none of us had to freeze. The waitress was super nice and quick in bringing our drinks. We had flowing appetizers from chip/salsa/guac to yummy chicken nuggets, sweet potato fries and tri tip sammies! The sweet potato fries and tri tip were delicious to boot, although my waistline is protesting, this girl is smiles all around. A few Unilocaler friends and I played the giant Jenga game in the corner and had a few good laughs. Thank you Nique for this awesome event and thanks to McGah for a happening night in our own hood.

Was it me or was there a little tension coming from our waitress? I might have felt a little, but in the end she was fine. I’m a huge fan of all the events and can have a good time wherever all you cute elite’s are stationed. I loved that we moved outside – it was a perfect spot for us! The patio was close enough to enjoy the band, yet far enough so we could converse. The heaters, the TV, the appetizers were all good. How cute was the group playing JENGA!!! Thank you Nique for another fun event!

Sneaking into this event just in the nick of time, ended up being the perfect way to end date night. Thanks Nique for getting us in last minute. My beautiful babygirl and I were already on a hot date in Oakland before we got word that there were a few extra spots open. We jumped in the Silver Streak whip(hi Eugene…) and headed straight for Danville. Cruising along highway 24, feeling the wind in my hair… from the A/C that is. There’s not much wind when you’re creeping along in the Caldecott Tunnel. No wonder I take BART to work. We checked in, got our Unilocal handkerchief and badge. No, not name badge. Our Sheriff’s badge. You best believe The Duke of Pleasant Hill BART is gonna flash that on the next n00b that try’s to steal his«assigned» parking spot. They best recognize who’s the law ’round dem parts! Taking the party outside to the patio was a great idea as it became our own lil’ Elite area. The waitress was really quick taking and bringing the drink orders. Later, plenty of appetizers showed up. Never expecting any Vegan stuff, I appreciated the seriously homemade tortilla chips and guac that would rival any Mexican restaurant. The only thing better would’ve been shots of whiskey to get into the country spirit I left my cowboy boots at home, so I was ill prepared for the boot scootin’ that was going on in the main room, but the band was pretty good and got the party going. I can tell that McGah’s is the place to be in sleepy Downtown Danville, if you’re looking for a boozy, musically good time. It became a mini-reunion of friends we hadn’t seen in awhile, or those we just saw recently. It’s always nice when an event like this allows folks to gather ’round and relax, rather than the bigger events where you usually end up moving from one food/drink line to the next. Thanks Dominique for organizing a fun, casual event. See ya’ll next time!

Country night with a live band appetizers and special Unilocal drinks! Thanks Nique for organizing a fun event to mix and mingle and meet new people. As a new member to the East Bay Unilocal squad this was a nice introduction. Our VIP seating behind the band was a bit loud but we took over the outdoor patio that was equipped with heaters a fire pit, a tv, AND oversized jenga! The band sounded great and I would have loved to hear more of them! Highlight of the night was definitely meeting new people and local Danvillians :)
