The breakfast sandwich was made with a store bought hamburger bun, I think the store brand in fact. At least upgrade to wonder bread or something. Other than that typical airport food. My fiancé did like her empanadas however.

Empanadas were awful and tasteless. They were out of pork!!! how does a cuban café run out of pork at 5 pm on a thursday, that is inexcusable. And the chicken I had to substitute it for was tasteless and bland, the chimichurri they serve is very vinegary. The last time I was at this place they were out of items also. AVOID, go next door to the pizza place. It is much better.

While heading back home to the West Coast yesterday. Wanted to try something different at the Airport while waiting for my flight. Thought hey, Cuban Sandwich. Never had that. I’ll try it. Waited almost 30 mins for my Cuban Sandwich meal which was cold and it wasn’t right. Asked for no mustard and it was doused with mustard. Sandwich was warm Fries were cold like it sat out for a while before being boxed up. Every person that was behind me got theirs before me. Some customers were getting impatient because it was taking forever. I’m a very patient person but waiting almost 30 mins for my order to be wrong. Seriously? Only thing that tasted good was my Soda.

We thought it would be nice to get one last Cuban sandwich before the trip home… this was the worst sandwich ever. I took one bite and almost threw it away. I am not too picky, especially at airports but this place should be ashamed. I would just grab some pizza from the place next to it. Worst. Sandwich. Ever.

Friendly staff! Food is quickly made to order. The Cuban sandwich was great! Definitely a great value for delicious food at the airport!

Heard a lot of hype on Cuban Sandwich and thought I give it a try. Disappointed. Bread with ham, pork mustard and a slice of pickle. Sandwich Made earlier and do not recommend their sandwich. Looks like everyone ordered coffee and their pastry.

Café con leche perfection. Salad disappointing. Not a single shred of avocado in the salad I purchased just because it contains avocado(allegedly). Yes, I realize airport food will cost more than necessary; this is just a part of travel we all have to accept. I doubt lower airport food price points are in our future. But even with this acceptance, much disappointment. Too much money for what you get.

My first time at Señor Sergio’s was waiting for a flight to Baltimore. I ordered two empanadas — chicken and spinach and the spinach was soooo good that I went back and ordered two more. I would’ve given it more stars if it wasn’t for the rude cashier. Apparently she wasn’t a deterrent for me to go back LOL

For an airport food vendor, this was great. The menu offered everything from grilled chicken sandwiches, rice and chicken, Cuban sandwiches, and croquettes. The display case had a variety of empanadas and pastries and croquettes as well. The only problem was that there was no signage letting you know which was which. I asked and they told me that they offered: beef, chicken, ham and cheese, and spinach and cheese. They were all a descent size. I ordered a Cuban sandwich with extra pickles. The sandwich was served hot. It was on cuban style bread that was pressed. You could see the melted cheese dripping from it. The ham and pork had a nice flavor that went well with the pickles, mustard, and cheese. It was large enough for my kids and I to share. I wish that I had a chance to try a dessert from there because I am craving some guava right now. I felt that for the size of the sandwich that the price was on point.

I hit this place up on a long pre-flight wait in crowded Terminal B(with few options). I vacillated between the Cuban or just a steak sandwich. I decided on the steak. The sandwich was tasty, filled with string potatoes and onions. The bread was noteworthy(you can’t have a good sandwich without good break) but the meat a little tough for grab and go. I would probably try something else next time(my criteria for 3-stars…good, but not enough to definitely go back). The portion was a good size, I ate half then and saved half for later and that worked fine(even though it was somewhat of a greasy fare). As mentioned in other reviews, the price is a bit high, but that’s just airport for you. It’s on par with the portion size and quality… for the airport. Service was average, order was placed(lady could have been friendlier), took a few minutes for my order to come out the wait window. A few who ordered after me got theirs first, I understand that it depends on the order, but still you begin to wonder if someone else grabbed yours or they forgot about you. Of all things, I was a little disappointed in the water options here. They were larger bottles and expensive. I went next door to a news stand to get a standard 20 oz Dasani(instead of their fancier, more expensive, kind). I would stop here again if I were in Terminal B, but might also consider other options, wasn’t worth making sure I came back for.

Tried to order a salad at 11am, they didn’t have any. Ordered a chicken empanada and chicken sandwich. Chix empanada was dry, meh. Chicken sandwich took nearly 10 minutes and was very forgettable, looked nothing like the picture. Staff is in no hurry. Terminal 1 just doesn’t have many options. It’s either this place, with appealing pictures, pizza, Starbucks, Auntie Anne’s, or the bar… Good luck.

I have an empanada addiction. I admit it. I have had the empanadas from Sergio’s several times. The service is pretty slow. The flavor of the chicken empanadas is really good, but they’re pretty dry. They have containers of hot sauce near the soda fountain which helps. The guava & cheese turnovers are good in the morning with a cup of coffee. You can get ham & cheese, spinach & cheese, meat, or chicken priced at 2 for $ 4.95 which makes a nice meal on the go.

Not many options in this terminal at Ft Lauderdale airport. I needed something quick so I figured why not a pressed Cuban sandwich? I ordered the sandwich and a Cuban café con leche. The lady who makes the coffee — you can tell this is all that she does — she’s quick and makes the coffee right. The sandwich– it took them 15 minutes to make this — and there was one person ahead of me. People behind me who ordered steak sandwiches were getting their orders quicker — and the steak had to be cooked then pressed. The sandwich itself was fine — how can you go wrong with a hot melty ham and cheese with pickles? I did pull off most of the roast pork as it seemed old/dry.

There are 3 – 4 places to eat in terminal B, so not much choice. I got a three blend burger that appeared promising but turned out below average. No seasoning, over cooked to the edge of burned, and no condiments such as ketchup or mustard. That is strange because I specifically asked what came on the burger and was told mustard. The wife got something called sandwich croquette. Came with an unidentifiable breaded mess, horribly dry and tough pork, and ham. At least she got mustard. It was one of the worst things she ever ate, even after deconstruction to try to salvage something. No such luck. Just plain inedible. The whole meal was a total waste of $ 20. Do not waste your money here. They should be ashamed about what they serve because it is borderline food and just disgusting.

I can see why this place has such a low rating, however I just can’t give any less than 4 stars for my recent visit. Service: 5 Stars goes straight to Nena. She was amazingly nice and sweet and went above and beyond customer service behind the cash register for me. Food: 1 – 2 stars. Pretty gross, but in a pinch at the airport it worked out.(Think Burger King) Coffee: 4 stars Prices: 3 stars My husband and I ordered a Cuban sandwich(for my hubby) and I got the breakfast sandwich, which comes with an American drip Seattle’s Best coffee. I wanted a Cuban espresso so I asked if I could upgrade my coffee and get the espresso. Unfortunately no this is not an option but my hubby got that drip coffee and I just ordered the espresso with steamed milk. Nena made my coffee and added sugar already for me. I asked for it extra hot and boy did she make it extra hot! Perfect. Delicious. Yummy. And no, my husband didn’t get a sip of my coffee, he had his own. Anyway, if you’re nearby and want a good coffee come here. If you want some sub-par, fast food, then by all means eat here as well. Prices are less than other places at the airport and tastes about the same so might as well eat here and save some $$$.

The prices are pretty high. I don’t understand whats the deal in the airports; instead of tax free food, clothes, etc., they charge you huge amounts of money for a single whatever. This container of beans, rice, ground beef, and guacamole was huge. Regardless of the quantity it was 12,50. In pollo tropical the same plate of food will cost you 5,50 and you could tell the taste is absolutely criollo. I was really hungry and craving for beans. In this airport theres not variety of restaurants, so, I got this time what I could.

Bad«cuban» sandwiches. Whatever you try, do not get sandwiches. Not fresh, not hot, not the way a Cuban sandwich should be.

In my humble opinion, one should not visit South Florida without enjoying a taste of Cuba. The best flavors are found in Miami, where the population of Cuban residents is very high, but throughout Dade and Broward counties you can find restaurants serving decent versions of Cuban favorites. Growing up in Miami and Hialeah, Ive sampled my fair share, and Cuban food is akin to comfort food for me. As a kid My dad put us to work at his warehouse and the only payment required was a lunch of pastelitos, Cuban sandwiches, and a contadito(Cuban Coffee) from little café on the corner. On my last day in FL, I realized I hadn’t even seen a loaf of Cuban bread during my visit, so when we stumbled upon Sergio’s in the airport, I was elated! I ordered a Cuban sandwich, pastelito de guyaba con queso, and a beef and plantain empanada. My wife had the Mojo marinated pork plate. Oh, and a cortadito of course! Now a Cuban sandwich isn’t complicated food. It’s just sliced Roast pork, sweet ham, yellow mustard, Swiss cheese, and dill pickles pressed on a grill between two pieces of flaky Cuban bread. So I figured it was a safe bet, and I didn’t have high expectations anyway, being in the airport and all. All in all, it did the trick. The fillings were all there in the right proportions and the bread a decent approximation of what it should have been, making this sandwich just fine. The pastries were ok. I enjoyed the empanada a lot. Cuban empanadas are all about the shell. They’re flaky, crunchy, and baked, making for a cracker like texture with just the right amount of chew coming from the slightly thicker layer of dough at the bottom. The combo of the ground beef and sweet plantain reminded me of a dish my Dominican friend, Hilda, used to bring over as a special treat. The pastelito was ok, but I wouldn’t order it again. It was more a gas station version of a delectable Cuban treat than the real thing I’ve had before. And of course we washed it all down with that rich, thick, sweet, jet black rocket fuel they call Cuban coffee. Served just like they do at cafes all over Miami, this one came with the appropriate thimble sized cups perfect for dosing out this potent drink and sharing with friends. I remember going through this ritual many times, sharing coffee with strangers, and sharing stories along with it. In that spirit I turned to my neighbor at the dining bar, who was inquisitively watching me pour the coffee into the cups, and invited her to join me. She was nervous at first, but once she learned this stuff was laden with the sweet stuff, she happily obliged. As it does with most people, one sip left her with a smile from ear to ear, and all of a sudden I felt like I was back in Miami. Sergio’s is not the best taste of Cuba but for those looking for something a bit better than the rest of the traditional airport offerings, this is an excellent option. 4 stars for doing something different!

For my 500th review. We had to come here before our flight because this was the only place in the southwest wing that had salad for a dish besides the bar there which was slammed. The girls working there were very sweet. You can tell they’ve been slammed because they have that extra edge about them. We had ordered the chicken Sergio salad. The cost was 23 dollars. The size of the salad is decently sized for the money you’re paying for. The salad was very hearty. Chicken was surprisingly good. Problem is it was too much lettuce to where you couldn’t mix it. Overall it was good and filled me up for the 4 hour flight I had.

If you want a Cubano, I would have to respectfully give you advice to go somewhere else. The meat didn’t taste fresh, it was small, and even the pickles tasted weird. Despite all of that, I was hungry and it was the closest restaurant to my gate, I made the decision, and I had to live with it. Next time I am hungry and fly in/out of FLL, I will just make it a point to wait to get outside of the airport. There are too many authentic Cuban restaurants that cost a lost less than this place that would KNOCK. MY. SOCKS. OFF. Unfortunately, I will not be back…
