Michael’s II Cafe

Solid bar food place, no pretense or hype. As most people suggest, the wings are a must here. Outside of TK’s, they are hands down the best in the area. But I would also suggest the burgers… they are truly a cut above the norm. The one thing I’m not crazy about are the fries; they are the twice fried version and a bit much. If you haven’t tried this place and are in the mood for traditional bar food, you will be pleasantly surprised.

If you’re coming to Michael’s for food, you should only be ordering one thing: WINGS. You can yell at me until you’re blue in the face that TK’s/Pippa’s have the best chicken wings in the Danbury area, but you’re obviously wrong because Michael’s does. Not only are they perfectly cooked every single time, but the sauces they use are absolutely delicious. I recommend the Butt-​Kicking hot sauce if you’re a fan of spicy. The sauce has fantastic flavor filled with plenty of heat. Omnomnom.
Other than the wings, Michael’s is just your casual everyday dive bar. The tap list is meh, the amount of liquor is decent, and the room to move around is nonexistent. I ordered an old fashioned there one night and it might go down as the worst one I’ve ever had. But again, it’s a dive bar, so it’s not surprising.
Just come here for the wings, a standard beer, and football. You’ll have a good time.

It’s a dive bar. Probably the diviest of dives in Bethel, but it does what it’s supposed to do; be a dive bar. The bar staff isn’t crazy fast but it doesn’t really matter. There’s 4 – 5 beers on draught and they focus on their wing flavors. It seems to get the biggest crowd on Sundays during NFL season (which would be expected). It has a strange charm about it that I like which is why I’ve been here a few times. I would give it a chance if you’ve never been and are looking for a quick place to grab a few beers.

What a shit hole! Don’t waste your time or money going to this disgusting place. That is if you even get served. The staff is rude and doesn’t acknowledge you’re presence. Menu is nothing special. After waiting twenty minutes for drinks that never arrived we walked out and will never try again. Would give negative stars if I could.

It is really easy to drive by this place but it is a hidden gem. Their wings are the best I have ever had… Highly recommend the garlic Parmesan. The entire menu is excellent and good prices too. There are also very good specials. Parking is great too. Good for both family and friends. The atmosphere is comfortable too. Many tv’s around the restaurant. Fairly clean. Food is served quickly as well. Workers are very nice.

This place is absolutely disgusting. Service is a joke unless your a regular… Honestly they should not even be allowed to serve food. I got a chicken wrap and got letteuce, tomato and cheese with barely even any chicken… Also it was cold. If your looking to get beer and food with your buddy’s after a long day at work do not come here. The smell will scare you away. Tip is also included to bill because they know how awful food drinks and service is… The only good thing about Michael’s caffe is the dj big daddy on a Tuesday night…

I went here with my cousins who live nearby. From the outside looking in, you wouldn’t expect their food to be actually good!
My cousins ordered the spicy chicken wings and it was great! I recommend it!

So first off, this place has much better food than you would expect. It is a great little towns bar that has great wings great sandwiches and friendly staff. I would absolutely come back.
But…
If the sign on the door says DJ Bingo, just walk away. Don’t look back. Come back another night.
Walking in we should have known better. There was a Beatles song playing absurdly loud, over a single speaker with a blown cone. Coming around the corner into the seating area it became clear this was a mistake. DJ Dipshit is strutting around dressed like a child’s magician handing out bingo cards. We politely declined prompting him to wave the card tantalizingly in our faces and inform us «$ 10 off your tab if you win!» Nah dude, we are good. Because the staff is pretty good there we rapidly got our drink order in just in time for the next round to start. So apparently this dude has the first 15 seconds of each song… and that’s it. Most likely he is playing the free iTunes samples. Also, I need to mention the stereo. At least it was a stereo before he lost the left speaker. Now it is a mono. With a blown come rattling through every song. And no bass whatsoever. I think his Dolby 2.1 became a 1.0. Kill me. Kill me now. My god I’m still here, waiting for the check. I long for death, but am trapped in some Sisyphean hell. Please God let some poor bastard call bingo and end this fresh hell.
But the French Dip was awesome.

The food was great, i had the buffalo chicken wrap and it was amazing! Usually, i don’t eat the second half anywhere i go because it becomes soggy but this was not the case! i enjoyed the entire wrap! i will defiantly be coming for my birthday!

This place is awesome. Great little spot to belly up to the bar, staff is pleasant and the food is very good. My buddies and I will certainly be back.

Great wings and food, only one thing I didn’t like was they charged me two dollars extra for four extra pickle slices to go with my burger, I don’t think that when I’m already spending over $ 100 for food and drinks that four slices of extra pickle was gonna break the bank,

Went there for a birthday, because the person got free (20something wings) none of the happy hour prices applied to anyone that said ‘hi’ to the birthday girl. This included separate checks and all. Owner was rude and uncompromising. They just lost about 30 customers and some very frequent ones at that because of it. Go somewhere else, there’s plenty other small business’ with owners who care about their customers.

Excellent food! Free wings on your birthday. Owner is present and makes her rounds to the tables. Drinks are good and mixed properly.

Came here to try their free wings for my dad’s birthday. We got a combo of garlic parm, butt kicking, teriyaki and honey BBQ wings. All were very good but the butt kicking wings weren’t very hot. I really wanted something spicy and while they were good, i wish they had more of a kick. Beer was good and ice cold, the waitresses were very friendly and the owner even came by to introduce herself. I must point out that these wings were meaty and flavorful unlike the fatty wings you get at other places in Danbury. Oh, and if by chance you don’t finish your birthday wings, you can bring them home. That other place in Danbury doesn’t let you bring your wings home. I’ll definitely be back again.
