Another fantastic night at Black Angus. We split a 40oz porterhouse among 3 of us and my sister in law had the duck 2 ways. I tell EVERYONE I can that Tommy has the most consistent and high quality restaurant in Fairfield county. I highly recommend to anyone.

I stopped at the courtyard because I was tired for the day and found this jewel. Bone-in strip was excellent.

I’ve been here before and really enjoyed the linguini and white clam sauce. It was very good. Fresh clams and linguini — what could be better? I live in Atlanta — and so miss good sea food. The wait staff are professional and really now how to serve. They are friendly, quick and attentive. So I came back, this time not so happy with my meal. The wait staff no issues. I ordered the Calamari, Scungilli, and Shrimp will Pappardelle(large pasta noodle). Sounds good? I thought so. Problem was that there was allot of Pappardelle — but the seafood was missing. I counted 2 shrimp, 0 scungilli, and the calamari was so small that it was over taken by the pappardelle. So essentially I got a plate of pappardelle for $ 24. My friend had the crab cake and that looked really good. Next time I’ll order a steak.

I have at least 12 or more meals at Black Agnus Grill;my wife and me; with 6 or more of my family. I would not describe the food as outstanding but there is something for everyone and the food a good value, otherwise why would have gone back as often as I have. Memorial Day was my first poor experience. The soup of the day as a seafood/clear broth combo. It was really bad! I had a little piece of white fish, the skin of a white fish with carrots. celery and maybe onions. The salad was a square of lettuce with less than adequate garganzola dressing. The chicken was good. I comment only because I have felt that this restaurant is well run and I would hate to have slip into average. Joe ;

What an incredible dining experience. First off the service was top notch, the wait staff was quick efficient and truely worked hard to make me and all the guests feel welcome and appropriately attended to. My waiter Alex was a real professional as was the Front of the house manager who greeted me warmly and ran the staff with urgency and focus. Not since I have dined at Peter Luger’s have I experienced such an on point wait staff. As far as the food goes I started with the little neck oysters that were large fresh and of the highest quality. I then had the house salad with vinegrette and candied almonds. The salad was typical boiler plate gourmet but served well. For my main course I greatly enjoyed the seared pork chops and scallop special. The chops were cocked perfectly as were the scallops. The quality of both were also top notch and the portion size was generous without being overwhelming. I finished the meal off with a perfect expresso. The ambiance was noisy and good for a family or work dinner. The meal was excellent as was the service in terms of value the price was appropriate for the quality $ 13 for ½ dozen oysters and $ 22 for the main course. I highly recommend the black angus grill and cannot wait to go back for my next family meal.

Menu is varied and food was good! Good table service too! Bartenders look like they all have an axe to grind. Not sure what thats all about.

Thom and his wife have found the most amazing recipe. It’s pretty simple Provide a very clean and modern establishment. Have great chefs creating dishes to die for. Train your servers to work as a well orchestrated team. Personally meet and greet every customer and make them feel absolutely welcomed. Pay attention to the details. Continually fill my water and be available to assist with anything. The masterpiece dishes are well worth every dollar. You try cooking this stuff at home. Never going to happen. This is why this incredible resturant should have a 6 star rating. When you get treated like a superstar why go anywhere else. Whyyyy???

Always good. Stick with the meats… it’s what they do best. Table service is always accomodating and pro… bar service… not so much. Huge portions… always take some home Love the patty melt… Chop salad is a great way to offset cardiologist anger. Calamari… wow, good. Steaks… perfect.

Greeted by what seemed like the owner. Extremely pleasant amazing individual. Was early with a party of five, he did not care and made it a priority to seat me at a table for 5. Basketball playoffs were promptly put on the screens per a small request. Did not receive any glares for waiting for my tardy work colleagues. Food was above average I got the crab stuffed avocado and grilled rack of lamb. An absolute delight in a world over pushy restaurant owners.

Steak was not the best. The waiter ran around like a chicken without a head. It’s way too expensive(better steaks at Costco). Not worth the money, unless you want to chew on a rubber sole.

Had the Steak and Sea food special. Medium rare on the NY strip was perfect. Meat was tender and delicious. Scallops stuffed with crab were yummy. For a chain restaurant this one was one stood out as exceptional.

Great curb appeal and nice low lit ambiance/décor for a chain restaurant. Great location near many stores but I think their target market is most likely the hotels that surround it. The menu was ok, not vast, and seemed a bit overpriced in my opinion. I imagine the convenience for the business people staying in the surrounding hotels trumps the pricey items. Our waiter was nice, and the manager who sat us pushed the table closer to one side so that I could get in comfortably with my(36 week pregnant belly). I had the grilled chicken with a chipotle sauce and my husband had 2 apps and the portions were sizable. I don’t think I would return here, because there are many other chain restaurants with the same quality of food where you can get more bang for your buck.

Love Barbarie’s! Try their cowboy steak and bacon-wrapped filet mignon. I like my steaks rare always come out perfect. The fried calamari with hot peppers is awesome as are the steamed clams(one of my wife’s favorite appetizers). She loves the chopped salad and the creamed spinach. And the baked potatoes are the size of softballs. We have favorite servers who always treat us well. Nice people. Desserts are also great. I like bread pudding and my wife’s favorite dessert is the chocolate mousse. Treat yourself!

This place is truly amazing. The food variety and selection is superb. Our waitress was super polite and friendly. We had intentions of ordering from the restaurant week special menu. The RW menu you looked great but after looking at the main menu we gave up on that. Food was delicious!

My fiancé and I came here on a whim when our original plans didn’t pan out. My first thought when I saw the menu, and it’s prices, was ‘uh oh’. Turns out, for the price, I think it’s good value. My steak salad was really delicious. A bit too much blue cheese dressing but not even necessarily a bad thing! Her burger was smashing, great attention to detail. Very comfortable space. Service was attentive. Prices are higher than where would usually dine. For a steak house, they are within reason, and most importantly– worth the cost. Would eat here again.

Delicious! Excellent service and the food was amazing. Filet wrapped in bacon was butter soft. NY Strip was tender and delicious. Meatball trio app was really yummy too. Cheesecake was insanely good! One star off for the tuna tare tare priced at $ 20 and most of it was guacamole — yummy, but not worth the price but otherwise, we loved this place and will most surely be back. One thing I feel compelled to note: With regard to the common complaint on pricing from other reviews on this restaurant: If you go to a good steak house, you should expect to pay good money. If it’s cheap, you get… cheap steak! If you want that, go to Outback.

A bad meal. Very disappointing. First the positives — It’s a very nice atmosphere and the staff was friendly and attentive. The place was packed for some reason and people were still coming in well into the evening. Overall the quality of the food was subpar at best. Avoid the ‘Asian noodle seafood soup’ — it’s a dreadful ‘special’ that tastes like they mixed a bunch of leftover soups together. For some reason there was a loooong wait before our entrees came out — I mean a half hour easily. Steaks do not take that long to cook. The porterhouse was a joke: thin slab of unseasoned grilled meat. I doubt it was prime and hard to tell if it was dry aged. Very tough and chewy. It seemed like any steak I could buy at a local grocery store and throw on the grill. Nothing wrong with doing that — I do it sometimes — but was not expecting that at a quality steak house. The sides were decent. The one bright spot was the creamed spinach. Best creamed spinach I’ve ever had. Very impressed with that. Unfortunately shortly after eating here someone else from my table got food poisoning. Not good.

People go to this restaurant for the steak. I don’t eat steak, but I’ll tell you about the other options. We went with a party of 6 people, with a reservation. Half of our party wanted to see a movie afterwards and our reservation would cut it close. When we called, the restaurant was more than happy to modify our reservation. When we arrived, we were greeted promptly and taken to our table. For six of us, we’re were cramped. We could barely cut our food and ended up having to rearrange our seating. The service was impeccable and we had a server with a great sense of humor and personality. Onto the food… To start, we ordered the calamari and the caprese salad(tomato and mozzarella). This is the first time we’ve ever seen other foods fried with the calamari! There were peppers — red, green, jalapeños! We absolutely loved this as we had some in our party that do not eat seafood, but devoured the peppers. The caprese salad was so small. We’ve traveled to Europe many times and this one doesn’t hold a candle to others we’ve had in Italy or the US. I would not recommend spending money on the caprese salad. Entrees… Most at our table ordered steak and they all loved it! One person ordered the Mahi tuna and I ordered the chicken florentine. The latter was just okay. The mashed potatoes that came with it were very dry(we also ordered a side of mashed potatoes for the table and they were the same — very dry and bland). I would not order the chicken florentine again, unfortunately. We did also order a side of mushrooms, which were good. Overall, our experience was positive. I felt the restaurant was over priced for what you got, food-wise, but the service was great!
