This place only caters to older clientele. I felt we were completely ignored because of our age. The waitress kept looking at our table and even making eye contact, but no one ever approached us. We thought it was just because they were busy so decided to wait a little longer. Then people were seated after us who got served right away. They were older of course. I guess I should have known by he tacky décor that this place was not going to be worth it. DOMTWASTEYOURTIME. There are many better choices in the harbor.

One of my favorites places to hang in Dana. It is always busy, has a fun atmosphere, great food, right on the harbor and the bartenders sure pour good drinks. The crowd sometimes seems a bit older but the youngens like myself always pop in and out through out the night. Definitely a locals bar but very welcoming to others. Pictures on the walls are always interesting and the people you meet inside are even more so. The jukebox could use some songs from this century but hey that just gives the place some more charm.

Sad to give this place 1 star. Found this place on Unilocal, and wanted to give it a try, after spending the day in Dana point. Perfect location, overlooking the beautiful Dana Point harbour, super unique/classic ambiance. A little confusing when you walk in, no one greeted us for a minute or two and we weren’t sure what to do/where to sit. The food is okay, kinda similar to Harbor House or any other cheap diner food. The customer service is what got me, not sure what vibe my group of friends and I gave off to our server, but she seemed to dislike us from the start… on a personal level! Maybe it just wasn’t her day, but she was rude and sassy throughout our whole time with her. Kinda got the feeling she wasn’t interested in helping anyone rather than older, regular, locals. Super unnecessary, super uncomfortable… bye bye Turk’s, won’t be going back any time soon. or ever again.

Friendly crowd & social wait staff. But absolutely the best fish & chips west of the east coast… By far

Love Turks! Great dive bar ! We go there for lunch and the sandwiches are always delicious, specially the Californian, lots of roast beef and cheese and chilies on wonderful Parmesan bread. The drinks are very good especially the bloody Mary’s and we love Dennis the bartender. Go when you have lots of time though, Service is not at a hurried pace and will take a while.

There’s nowhere to stand so we ended standing next. To the bathrooms which smelled like rotting cabbage. Will probably return cuz there’s nowhere else to go in Dana point besides harbor house.

Turks has good cheese burgers & drinks. I love Dana Point Harbor for the atmosphere and Turks has great atmosphere. After looking at some of the old Hollywood movie photos on the walls, you will soon figure who Turk was. Turk appeared in so many great adventure films with great leading actors. Like the comment from the fisherman who likes Turks, step off the boat or park your car and enter the restaurant at waters edge to grab some good food in a place with great character.

I hate it when a restaurant somehow gets 4 stars and the food flat-out sucks. Everything we ordered lacked in flavor — the clam chowder, the fish & chips. The calamari steak was inedible. There was also one server for an entirely full restaurant, I felt sorry for her but service was extremely slow as a result. Here’s the kicker ladies and gents — my date got violent food poisoning!

DON’T COMEHEREWHENSUPERHUNGRY! went to the side of restaurant only to be told go to the other side and wait for the list. We couldn’t find the list and the only person who waited told us there’s no list, I guess the list is in the head of the waitress. This servie is extremely slow. Even though I understand they have high percentage of senior crowd who have tons of patience, but waited 45 mins to be seated while the restaurant wasn’t all that packed was exceptional. People who had done eating were just sit there waiting for their bill to come back for another 15 mins. There were only 2 waitresses, both were friendly and attentive so maybe they were just short of staff that night, While waiting, my friend told me this restaurant was opened by a body builder/trainer for Hollywood stars. There were photos of him all over the walls. Very historical interior I think everything was at least 20 yrs old. NOMENU, the menu is written on a simple board, not much choices. Prime rib, King cut,$ 19.95, ok, better quality than those $ 9.99 place but not much better of and it’s def not prime. Proton is big and their baked potato is huge. Broiled Alaskan cod, $ 15.95, meh, the fish itself is bland, dry w some spicy powder topped on it. The tartar sauce came w it was way too sour than I used to and I just didn’t think they are a good match. Fries were salty and old. Steam veggie were ok could cook a little more. Bread is standard. Very nice ambiance will take you back to 20 yrs ago when everything was well made. Definitely classic has its age of glory. The bar area with the wharf view of people coming back from whale watching or fishing trip is very nice. 5 stars for ambiance 2 stars for food If you happen to be at Dana Point Wharf and want to eat here, just order burger or salad. Avoid seafood.

What a fantastic dive bar! Waitresses were funny and nice. Great location on the harbor. Most tourists will be scared when they set foot inside and they’d turn around at first glance. Clearly a local bar, with an old dive bar feel. Awesome! Not sure if I’d recommend the food though. Nachos were okay.

Getting salty at Turks rocked my inner olé man fishermen. Loved my white fish sandwhich and salad. Huge portion and a nice young lad gave me a sample of the deep battered fried fish. Perfection. Meatloaf open faced sandwhich and Bloody Mary looked amazing as well. Thanks Turk for decorating and making your place appeal to the salty olé man in me. I could land here daily.

Delicious food, great atmosphere. I am excited to go back and enjoy a few cocktails. We ordered to fish and chips, it was excellent. The onion rings are some of the best I have ever had. And you can’t go wrong with homemade ranch. Wonderful service.

This is a relatively small dive bar with surprisingly great food! I ordered their broiled fish sandwich, served open and topped with lemon, onions, tomatoes, pickles, lettuce and a side of tartar sauce. I also opted for a small fruit salad in lieu of fries. This has to be one of the best fish sandwiches I’ve tried. The fish was cooked perfectly. I hate it when some places over cook it and leave it incredibly dry or flavorless — that wasn’t the case here. I’m deducting stars because of the service. It wasn’t terrible. In fact, our server was incredibly friendly and even helped us find activities to do around the area… it was just really slow. It took well over half an hour to sit us and a little over another half hour to bring our sandwiches out. I can understand that the place was a little full, but I don’t think it should take THAT long to prepare a sandwich. On another note. The restaurant was on the harbor, so depending on where you sit, you get a nice view overlooking the water, which I love!
