Roman Painting and Refinishing

I’ve been using Alberto for many years and would highly recommend him. He does excellent work for a very fair price. He refinished my mother-​in-​laws’ kitchen and bathroom cabinets and they look amazing! My only complaint is he’s too busy because he’s in such high demand, ha ha. We heart Alberto :)

I’m really shocked by anything negative said on here about this company. I had the pleasure of working with Alberto and his team on three different projects and I was delighted and happy with the work, the professionalism, the timeliness, and especially the overall quality.
I found Roman Painting and Refinishing on Unilocal last Fall. I had Alberto come out and give me a quote to repaint the inside of my entire home, which was very fair. He also referred me to a drywall guy to remove the popcorn ceilings we had (I know, popcorn ceilings)! What a great experience. Alberto is also a contractor and fixed things that needed attention that he saw as he was painting. It was all done extremely well and at a fair price. He takes a lot of pride in his work and is very thorough and complete. I’ve never had such a pleasant experience. He also has great referrals for other home needs.
I found myself in a new home 6 months later that was in desperate need of inside painting and I needed the kitchen cabinets/​drawers refinished. Wow, again it was a fantastic experience from receiving the quote to having the work completed. What a difference working with such a phenomenal professional. My new home really looks new!!!
I would and will recommend Roman Painting and Refinishing to everyone I know (and don’t). I’m happy to give feedback to anyone who’s interested in working with Alberto. He is truly a professional that does quality work at a fair and honest price.

When he does do the work, he does an awesome job– like an artist. He is extremely unreliable and cannot be counted on to return and complete a job. He did some refinishing work for me, and didn’t quite complete the job. I held back some of the money owed to him which was obviously not enough for him to come out and complete. His artistic abilities are a «10+» while his customer service skills are a «2» at best. He is argumentative at times and tries to make the customer feel at fault. Working with this contractor has proven to be a very disappointing experience.

This guys is a contractor disaster. Run for the hills. He is unreliable, bullying, and the quality of work is shoddy. He refinished cabinets for us and left us with door backs unpainted, over-​spray and misses everywhere. Everything was on his time and his terms, until it came time for his final 5% payment of over $ 5000. He didn’t want to complete the job, instead all he wanted was to get his money and run to his next «overdue job». Do your homework. Check out a track record of horror stories on Ang**** List. Those are all paid subscriber reviews. I’d also suggest doing an OC court case search.

First, I am surprised by the comment below. Roman painting was the most professional, neat, courteous painting company to work with, They arrived preciously on time. They were a pleasure to have in my home since I have an autistic son and worry about who is there with us for multiple days in a row. The price for the job beat everyone, hands down but the quality of work was top notch. They have a great eye with faux finishing also. I do not do Unilocal often but after having Roman Painting in our home and reading the comment below, I just had to post the truth, I would recommend this company to anyone who asks. As a matter of fact, I already have.

I wonder why after many years in business they only have two (2) Unilocal reviews, both of them on the same date, and both 5 Stars.
When they work, they prefer (almost insist) that you leave them alone in your home, completely unsupervised. I wonder why that is?
They painted my house a few years ago and did what seemed to be a satisfactory job. Doors that were removed, however, and later re-​installed never closed correctly again, and the peephole on my entry door, which was also removed, was re-​installed backwards. Particularly troubling to me is that an unopened bottle of Maker’s Mark mysteriously vanished, and when the painters cleared out, was never to be found again. Hmmm, this is another one of life’s unsolved mysteries.
They only applied one coat of paint, and while it cleaned up the walls somewhat, the paint is now flaking and peeling in some areas, so we’re disappointed about the job for the longer term. The paint used was from Dunn Edwards, so it may be
flaking and peeling simply because of the way it was applied. Clearly, we would never use this company again.

It’s always a challenge to find professional workers in the trades. Alberto is the exception. He is an expert at his craft and not only takes pride in his workmanship but does beautiful work that is completed on time.
I would highly recommend him for any job big or small.
