Luxe Restaurant & Martini Bar

My husband and I really enjoyed this place. It was our first time. The piano man was amazing, the entertainment was a 10. I usually don’t just start dancing but they made me feel so happy that I started dancing a couple of other women were dancing too! Great atmosphere!

A low key, cozy yey classy martini bar that has features live music. I came here with awful company but Ronnie our waiter and the ambience of the place were a saving grace. The best time to come is for happy hour and on Mondays because they have great specials. My pasta was tasty but a bit rich and my martini was good. The pianist who was here played wonderfully and made me feel at ease. I will definitely be coming back but with better company.

There is a dinner special for each day of the week, I enjoyed the ambiance and live music. Had the pesto chicken flat bread. Wow, I needed a shovel and a funnel. Ate that so fast it reminded me of my early military mess hall feasting on my last meal days :)
I will be back !

This is a great little neighborhood spot… «off the beaten path». It has a great Happy Hour, staff is super-​friendly and Derek makes a delicious cosmo. Highly recommend the flatbread!

Luxe keeps getting better and better. Love the daily happy hour menu mon-​sun and the brunch on sundays. The kitchen has truly made a difference. The meatballs, flatbread pizza and salmon salad are the best. Been stopping here for years. Thanks for improving everything to keep us coming back.

First time at Luxe and, if I lived closer, it wouldn’t be my last. There was a small «glitch» while we were there, but the owner, Jimmy, personally came out to apologize and brought out extra tacos (it was Taco Tuesday) as well as some of the most amazing desserts ever! When I’m back in the area, I will certainly stop in again — even if it’s just for dessert!

Possibly the worst dining experience I’ve had out in a long time. Food was okay but the delivery time? Dreadful. 45 minutes for drinks at 7 pm on a Tuesday night. 90 minutes for part of our food. 2.5 hours we still haven’t gotten our checks and paid yet. Our server was nice, but the restaurant owner poorly handled a kitchen debacle. I wouldn’t race to come back for watered down drinks and mediocre food that takes hours to get.

You would not think that a «Martini Bar» would have such amazing food. I recently took my family there and we sat outside. We were promptly greeted by our server «Pepper.» She was very knowledgable of the menu items I had questions about and gave us some excellent suggestions.
It is not the cheapest place in town, but hands down if you want a great atmosphere and superb food — The Luxe is the place to go.
A+ across the board

My boyfriend and I stopped in during our drive to San Clemente. Unilocal reviews seemed fair. Whoever the «bartender» was, lacked. It Took her forever to even realize people have been waiting over 20 minutes for a drink and the place was even dead. However, our waitress was nice and food was good.

It have two words: TACO TUESDAY. Great carne and chicken and an amazing flatbread (the delightful Tori behind the bar can tell you which one). Great atmosphere and WONDERFUL dirty martini. Cindy and Jimmy make you feel like family!

The owner Cindy makes you feel like a long lost friend as does the rest of the staff… The meatballs are fantastic as an app… The snapper was perfect. Wine selection is pretty good. Atmosphere is great. You won’t be dissapounted.

I really love the happy hour! Good food, fun staff and the entertainment is really good (Don Duncan and Jimmy James). It’s one of the only places I know in Dana Point serving Chronic Cellars.

Great food, drinks and service. Love the outdoor patio, live music and interesting food. Meatballs are too die for.

Love this place. The meatballs are incredible (I don’t care for meatballs). Every time I bring my family they let my kids order off menu items. My wife loves the small plates and raw bar. The staff is always very attentive.

We love LUXE! From the atmosphere, cuisine and especially the drinks. The prices are reasonable and the drink specials are even better! They’re a great place to go during March madness and other events. It’s a great location to listen to music and chill. We like going there because they always treat us like family. I would recommend LUXE to all my friends and family.

With Martinis like Cucumber, Blackberry Citrus, Pear Twist, Fresh Raspberry, Caliente and Pepper Basil as well as many others, they really need a sampler menu! Plan on getting a designated driver or calling Über because how can you resist trying these concoctions?!?
Lucky for your wallet, they do have a Happy Hour Menu everyday from 3 — 7 that includes cocktail selections and a nice menu.

Excellent atmosphere, food was fantastic, staff was friendly and attentive. Owners were present and SO nice. They made us feel like we’ve known them forever and that we were hanging out at their house… their really nice house… loaded with lots of good looking people… Will definitely be back and will definitely recommend. (BTW, Crab-​crusted Ahi! WOW!)

Got together with a group of about 10 friends at Luxe. We had a reservation and when we arrived the table was ready. The staff was friendly, and the food was great (and I’m picky when I’m paying at a restaurant). The server was excellent and handled the somewhat large group extremely well. He made great suggestions for both food and drink, and was perfectly attentive without overbearingly interrupting the many conversations that were happening. That really impressed me at what a great waiter he was. There was live music, although for me that is the one thing that wasn’t really top notch. Not terrible, but just not great either, but it wasn’t a big deal for us as we were too busy sharing stories and having fun. While I’ve only been once and not at happy hour, I’d definitely recommend this place. I hope we will go again soon.

My husband and I have lived in Dana Point for 3 years. We were wanting brunch but weren’t feeling our usual brunch locations. While driving home we saw a sign that Luxe was open for brunch and it wasn’t crowded at all so we decided to try it out. It was AMAZING! Their loaded bacon bloody Mary’s were so good and spicy (ask the waitress/​waiter if you’d like it less spicy) our server Krystina was attentive and so sweet. Their food… SO GOOD! Way better than wind n Sea and still water! My husband and I felt like were on a vacation! The food and serve were amazing luxe is our new brunch spot!

Awesome local restaurant. Their happy hour is great with really good food, not the fried crap you get other places. The martinis are awesome made with top shelf vodka. This is my favorite local hangout! Staff is very friendly and the owner Cindy is super nice!

Excellent brunch and wonderful service! We all ordered something different since we couldn’t decide. I’m still going to have trouble deciding next time I go… which will be soon!

Been here several times and feel like I can confidently give 5 stars. It’s lively without being crowded, upscale without being stuck up, and the food is pleasing for any appetite or taste. Of course being a martini bar, you’ll want to try one. Go the traditional route or try one of the flavored versions, the blueberry citrus is super refreshing! The service has always been great, the last time our waiter took a lot of pride in the menu and being attentive, I almost felt like he could have been an owner. The atmosphere is relaxing and there is often live music that adds to the ambiance. Come here dressed up for a special occasion or casual for cocktails and appetizers, you won’t be disappointed.

Rick our waiter was friendly and thoughtful asked twice about water for our dog.
Mushroom flatbread was tasty. My hub had the local mahi special which was done perfectly.
Great wine choices and Rick knew the dryness of the wines on the menu.
Not our first visit and should return more often.

I always come here for happy hour which I love, but we had a steak and garlic mashed potatoes and it was delicious.

I don’t understand the negative reviews the staff was amazingly friendly and the food, although we only had small plates, was excellently prepared and presented.
We had a few Happy Hour drinks and enjoyed a marvelously pleasant experience. We also just found out that they allow pets. Bonus x 10 ding ding ding
Overall I would rate this place near the top in the area.

More over-​priced mediocrity. Slooooow service and blah cuisine.
Don’t waste your time and money.

It’s bigger; full size kitchen, more dining tables, new menu, but the service has gone down a wee bit. My Caliente martini is not what it used to be.
It took a long time for this neighborhood gem to be discovered, it has been very lively lately.

I’ve given luxe two tries now. The first was happy hour with some friends. The service was pretty slow, food was okay. The staff was not very accommodating. It was cold out and they wouldn’t move a heater over by us even though there wasn’t anyone else on the patio.
I decided to give luxe one more try since they are pretty close and I like that I can take my dog on the patio! Once again, the service was very slow. It took a while to get someone to greet us, take our order, check on us, etc. We ordered two burgers and it took 45 mins for them to come out. I don’t know what the problem was, there were only two other tables there and it was late on a weekday. Worst part is that when our food came our ‘medium’ and ‘medium rare’ burgers were cooked solid and dry! By that time we weren’t going to send them back and wait another 45 mins so we just ate it. The manager came out and barely apologized. She then comped our $ 6 fries…
There are way too many good places in Dana Point/​Laguna Beach to put up with that!

Where can you go in town get great food and meet the owner personally? The Luxe and Cindy Monroe Is a beautiful person who makes sure everyone is satisfied. Come see for yourself and enter the drawing for free stuff with every purchase.

I like the happy hour, the $ 10 filet penne is pretty delightful. I am also a fan of the cucumber cooler beverage.

It was OK, went there during happy hour. Got the meatballs, sausage and peppers, tuna poke (water logged), fish tacos, chicken and kale salad (missing the kale) and the peach sorbet. Next time I will go somewhere else.

We came here on a Thursday evening and it was surprisingly pretty packed. I loved it immediately. Very cool outdoor seating, swanky couches and intimate tables inside, a big, central bar with a TV, and a dude playing a guitar.
They have a pretty good happy hour menu, with $ 3 domestic beers and $ 4 craft/​international beers. Not bad. We got the flatbread toscana and the bruschetta sampler off their happy hour menu too. VERY GOOD. This is a perfect place for sharing lots of small plates. Their menu has a ton of options.
For my entrée, I got the penne vodka salmon. It was delicious. It was so rich that I couldn’t finish it though – and that’s saying something.
They are known for their martinis, so try that. They have a small, but decent, selection of beer, including Chimay on tap.
I will warn you that it’s super easy to spend a ton of money here. Stick with the happy hour menu and small plates to save money. The entrees are in the $ 30 range.
