Food is consistently great, people are always friendly and helpful. Always a good experience dining at Luna grill. Thanks James for the great service!

I’m still waiting for my food — I ordered the spinach pie. I’m only rating their crazy big bathroom and with the piped in rave music, the lighting and slippery floors, it was a perfect place to dance in perfect privacy, just don’t forget to lock the door.

It’s so nice to go out to eat and the food is as fresh as it can get! Finally a place that’s as good as home cooking! Emmanuel is a top notch worker and we enjoy our experience every time. Kids eat free on Tuesdays!

I love this place. The greek salad with chicken is amazing. Healthy but delicious — I could eat this every day! My husband orders the same salad but with gyro and likes it here as well. Keep opening more locations! Love Luna Grill!

Luna Grill serves a healthy version of Middle Eastern food. I ordered the Flat Cut Chicken Kabob which was very tasty and surprisingly moist given that it was white meat, The bread and rice could have been better but overall it was very enjoyable,

Great Mediterranean place located in a shopping center. Place has a very cool vibe, jazzy chill music playing, modern décor but very comfortable. Order at counter, food is brought to your table. Location is in a high density area surrounded by many apartments and condominiums, this restaurant does a very brisk business with both phone and online takeout orders. This can lead to some kitchen backups at busy times, so bring your patience with you, because the food is really good. Chicken kabobs have a delightful«char» flavor to them, meat is very tender and savory. The kabob plate with saffron rice, pita, cucumbers and roasted tomatoes is a very satisfying entrée. We did experience delays and timing issues with our food orders, but all I can say is Emanuel, our server, courteously and promptly handled the situation in a most professional and satisfying manner. I can’t compliment Emanuel enough. It is truly refreshing to meet someone dedicated to their job and the satisfaction of his customers. Try this place, hopefully you’ll meet Emanuel, he alone would be worth the visit.

The food here is delicious! Especially their sweet potato fries and chipotle sauce, DREAMY! HOWEVER, I have ordered takeout here 4 times now, and they messed up on 4⁄4 of the orders. So if you decide to do takeout, I highly recommend checking your order before you leave.

We ate at Luna Grill for the first time last week after having heard it recommended by a friend. There was a bit of a line to order, but it moved very fast. The cashier taking our order was friendly and helpful. She seemed very knowledgeable about the menu. We found a great table on the patio and our food came out quickly. I ordered the Sirloin Kabob. It was perfect. Very flavorful and complemented nicely by grilled tomato slices, salad, and fluffy delicate rice. The quality of the food was comparable to what I’ve had at more upscale Mediterranean establishments. I highly recommend checking out Luna Grill. It’s a great addition to the Ocean Ranch center.

New Luna Grill location is already on point! Service was very nice, helpful and the food came out quickly. I love their salads and adding a protein for $ 4 is a great value and more than generous portion. The wraps are on the small side, though by the time you add fries which are excellent here it is still a nice sized meal. I have only had the gyros and chicken so far, but enjoyed both. Like the décor here as well, modern, bright and clean with plenty of seating. Even my son loves the food here, healthy but still great for kids and meat lovers.

Came here for a late lunch on a Saturday and was left waiting to order for about 10 minutes while the handful of people up front stood around talking about plans after work, smiling and laughing with each other. The line began to form behind us and still no acknowledgement of the customers waiting in line to order! I was ready to walk out but luckily for them, my brother really wanted to try this place. That got us off to a bad start. But the food came out relatively quick — 15 minutes. My brother ordered a plate of gyros with the basmati rice. The gyros was not what was expected and dry, and so was the rice. He regretted getting all rice and passing on the half salad since it was a ton of rice. I ordered the chicken kabob and basmati rice. The chicken was juicy and had a good flavor to it. The pita bread was also pretty good. Next time I think I’ll try the hummus as and appetizer and I saw others ordering that and it came out quick. Also, I’ll ask if they have a sauce for the rice since it’s quite dry and tasted bland. For $ 10-$ 15 per plate, I’d rather go elsewhere. If I do come again I’d get a chicken kabob with a salad and pita bread for something healthy, fresh and light. But after being left waiting at the front and the line piling up, I doubt I will be back again.

I ordered lunch to-go from here the other day and was not very impressed. The chicken kabob was tasty, for the price I wish it came with two skewers of meat. I believe they make their pita bread fresh here, however mine seemed to be a bit undercooked and doughy. The hummus was very bland. I payed extra to have a Greek salad instead of house, the dressing was interesting it was some type of vinaigrette that I’ve never tried before. My wife had the salmon entrée and it was overcooked. They did not ask how I wanted it cooked so I assumed it came medium but it was well done. I think the two meals came to about $ 28, not really worth it. I doubt we will be back!

Not skimpy on the portions, but plan on slow and busy. So I just visited the new Luna Grill in Dana Point /Ocean Ranch. It’s very nicely done, but wow do they need to get things streamlined. The wait to place your order and get your food is ridiculous and for no apparent reason beyond inexperience. LOCATION&AMBIANCE(Rating 4.25) It’s new, and well laid out with great outdoor seating especially. I’m not a fan of the décor, especially the cheesy quasi chandeliers with utensils hanging from them. SERVICE(Rating 2.75) While the service at the order counter was polite, he did not seem well trained and it was slow. It definitely left me wondering how the rest of the«service» experience would go. No surprise, we waited about 15 – 20 minutes to get our food and it wasn’t even overly busy. Disappointing… CHICKENKABOB&GYROS(Rating 4.25) This chicken is especially good and comes with generous portions. It’s not heavily seasoned like some competitors and was moist and not overcooked. I’ve had this entrée twice now and the Gyros both times were a little dry from being overcooked or laying out after being sliced off for too long is my guess. This affected my rating for this entrée. The salad is a bit dry for me as well. Numerous bites into the salad there was no dressing to be tasted. The rice is great and the pita bread is awesome. Overall, I’d order this again, but it’s not my favorite restaurant for Greek food. Hoping they work out the issues.

I was lucky to get invited to their family and friends night before their grand opening and I am happy to report that this place did not disappoint! Its located in a shopping plaza and its kind of hidden but its a nice little restaurant. Unfortunately by the time we got there they had run out of a couple of items on their menu but regardless we were thrilled because we each got to choose any appetizer, and any entrée and drink free of charge!!! To start, we shared the spicy cheese appetizer that came with pita bread and an also a hummus dish. If you are a cheese lover you will enjoy this spicy cheese concoction, its made with some stinky but delicious cheese!!! I kind of like my cheeses stinky, my motto is the stinkier the better!!! The hummus was also very rich and creamy and very good. For our entrees, I went with their tri-tip beef kabobs and my BF got their house Gyro plate. First of all, OMG! the portions here are insanely huge!!! I mean my plate alone could feed a small family of three! The beef was nice an juicy and the sauteed veggies were delish! The rice was light and fluffy and very tasty. Believe it or not I actually devoured my entire plate, the food was so good I couldn’t stop eating! My BF’s gyro was also very good. We both got soft drinks and it was nice because we could go and refill them as much as we wanted. We felt like we were at a nice sit down restaurant but actually its an order at the counter and they bring your food to your table type of place with soft drink dispensers and everything. I cant wait to come back and explore more of their menu items!

I wish I could give less than 1 star. Can you say really horrible service? Apparently ordering online expecting your food to be ready when you request it to be is too difficult for this new restaurant. The staff is completely disorganized and have no idea what the others are doing. When a customer is told their order is next up… guess what… it should be next up. Shocking concept, I know. But to have that customer continue to wait as order after order is delivered and keep telling them theirs is on its way is absurd. Mess ups happen. How you deal with them will make or break a business. Dear Mr. Manager that has no clue how to treat a customer you have lied to — stop what you are doing, speak to the customer as if they patronage matters and address the screw up instead of continuing to spew them bs. Luna Grill may be the hot new restaurant in town, but they have a lot of kinks to work out before I will ever be back.

I really like Luna Grill and have been to the ones by my work and house. I received an invite to their Friends & Family soft opening and decided on an 8 pm reservation on Saturday. We arrived shortly before our reservation and were greeted and told to order. I had to double check what we could order: appetizer, one entrée per person, and two drinks. Apparently they were passing desserts around but we never received any. We wanted to try the lamb but they were out of it. We went with the sirloin entrée and the beef filet kabobs entrée. For our appetizer we went with the falafel platter which were some of the best I’ve tried. We opted for the fountain drinks so we grabbed those from the beverage station. Unfortunately, we were seated by the front door which was pretty cold sitting there since it was the only inside table available. The constant open and close kept blowing cold air on us, but we made the best of it. The food took forever to come out. I understand that they were behind, but they never told us as much. Someone came over to our table and asked if our food had come out yet and we told them it had not. Our number was still on the table and we were sitting there with just drinks, so it was obvious. Finally our food arrived. My salad wasn’t dressed nor did it contain cucumbers or tomatoes. No bother, I just grabbed some off of my boyfriend’s plate, but for a restaurant just opening, they need to know what is supposed to be on the plate before sending it out. The meat was tender and cooked perfectly. They are still new so they are working out the kinks. The food is good and made to order, just be prepared to wait a little. We’ll probably frequent the locations near us but this is a nice addition to Dana Point. 3 stars.

Song Parody #528 Review 1,350 Unilocal 3652016 Review #3 Luna Grill is a cool eatery in a quiet plaza in a safe and relaxing area. I was an out of town tourist of Dana Point, but my tour guide was pretty awesome. The interior and exterior are quite comfortable. The design seems very clean, organized and modern without being pretentious. The service was amazing, everyone had a happy face and positive attitude, I hope this continues beyond the opening day. Shout out to all our servers for great service, shout out to the cashier who was very informative and a shout out Austen who was our final server. Rice was amazing, I recommend it, I hope the quality of rice is the same every night, for every customer; the rice on my plate tonight was exceptional. The beef dishes were tender, the beef on my beef kabob needed some of the spices on our table, the flavor was not enough on its own. The presentation was great, from the sampler plates to the entrees, great pictures were taken. I want to try more menu items and get a lot more rice. Song parody of Bloodstones 1973 song«Natural High» Beef is tender and fine Add some flavor spice And don’t forget the Gyro(seasoned Gyro) This rice is so well made Fluffy and fresh, warm like a summer day And I think that I love you(I do love you) Your drinks ease the storm You’re staff has all of the charm And I’ll take to the sky On a plate filled with rice Safron with love, till the day I die And I’ll take to the sky On a plate filled with rice Loving you so If you start to get cold, it’s true They have heaters as warm as the food I start to feel a warmth too(I feel warm too) If I only had one type of dish I still, would want to reminisce Luna Grill, every way(I do love you) The raspberry or black tea Do not miss a beat And I’ll take to the sky On a plate filled with rice Safron with love, till the day I die And I’ll take to the sky On a plate filled with rice Loving you so I’m gonna try more food All the lamb, chicken and pork too I hope that I will be back(I do love you) You left me with something That I must sing And I think that I love you(I do love you) i will taste it all Eating you winter to fall And I’ll take to the sky On a plate filled with rice Safron with love, till the day I die And I’ll take to the sky On a plate filled with rice Loving you so And I’ll take to the sky On a plate filled with rice Safron with love, till the day I die And I’ll take to the sky On a plate filled with rice Loving you so And I’ll take to the sky On a plate filled with rice Safron with love, till the day I die And I’ll take to the sky On a plate filled with rice Loving you so

Was fortunate enough to come for a Friends and Family preview. Pros: –great portion sizes –gyro meat was tender and JUICY(chicken and beef skewers were as well) –rice was fluffy –dessert wasn’t too sweet –the kid’s booster chairs were perfect in the booth to include them at the table. –service was friendly and fast –kid’s meal was HUGE –great location and décor(indoor and out) –hubby said they didn’t skimp on the sound system in the bathroom and a HUGE plus is that they have a baby changing station in the MEN’S room –beers on tap(Stella/Shocktop) Cons: –system went down, and had to take down orders manually(but pre-open kinks) –salad should be fresher(limp and bruised looking) –grilled tomato was only a quarter –awkward beverage station, blocks the pathways when crowded Definitely a family friendly place and great and healthy dinner value. Would recommend.

I came at a friends and family event past Saturday. I have mixed reviews of this place. Obviously, there were some things that were out of their control like the system going down. But what I don’t understand is that the restaurant knew the number of people coming and the time they are coming in. That being said, I was certain I would be able to order the food I wanted since we had an early reservation. However, I was wrong. When we came, we were told via email we can order 2 appetizers and 4 entrees for our party of 4. But then it changed by the cashier to 1 appetizer and 4 entrees so we thought of ordering the sample platter to share as we came with 2 kids and they had the kids burger meal. We were also told they were at least 20 minutes behind. When the food came out, we didn’t get the appetizer first. We got the entrees first, the adult ones. We are fans of Mediterranean food so we were excited to try this place. I got a chicken and sirloin kabob platter. It came with basmati rice and salad and either grill carrots or tomatoes. The chicken was a bit salty but most were done well except for 1 pc. I got slightly on the raw side. I think they were a bit busy but still if you are working in the kitchen, this would be important as we all know 165 °F is a safe temperature. The sirloin kabob was excellent as was the rice. Both very flavorful. I thought the salad pieces could’ve been cut in smaller bite size pieces and even the grill carrots were long. So I had to cut into my salad a few times which was kind of strange. The kids burger kids liked. Oddly enough, if you look at the regular burger, it’s says its free range. However, if you look at the kids burger, it’s not. Price wise, it’s not a bad deal at $ 4.50 but it only includes a side with no drinks. Into the meal, we were suddenly told by one person our sampler platter was not coming. A minute later, we were given soup by another person just to try. Then, a minute after that we were asked if we wanted something else and I had requested falafels because of sampler platter wasn’t coming. Apparently, we were then told by the cashier we can’t order it because the system was down. So the excitement of trying Mediterranean food got shot down pretty quick here. I do say the Gyro, the ground sirloin kabob, and the chicken kabob were pretty tasty here. They are heavy handed on the salt here. Parking is in a shared LOT and there is a heated patio outside that is enclosed. Tableside has Ketchup and Tapatio. Update: Someone from Luna Grill messaged me and is letting me retry my experience here. For great service, I will update this to 4 stars and again after dining here.

This is a friend and family tasting event 2 days before their grand opening. we arrived 30 mins prior to our 8pm reservation and was greeted and promoted to order. Since the event started from 11am, by 8pm some stuffs were already ran out. The music was really loud so it took cashier multi times to repeat and we still not quite get what exact were sold out. We ordered: sampler platter: four falafels, four grape leaves, couscous medley, hummus and pita bread. I am normally not the fan of falafel but theirs are not bad. Hummus is ok. Grape leaves is too sour for my like. Couscous medley is one interesting dish I never had before. beef kabob: beef actually cooked perfectly medium without even asking. Very tender and good piece of meat. However, flavor seem bland on this one. gyros: flavor is ok, but it’s the most dry and greasy gyro I ever had. Rice is fluffy and salad is fresh. Big portion per order. I really like their drink selections, they have 2 organic teas, one is unsweetened black tea and organic raspberry tea which is lightly sweetened. both are really refreshing. for non-soda drinker, those are better than your typical black tea. Service was very friendly and nice. Outdoor seat was slightly cold at night to me even with the heating lamp but perfectly for my dining partner. Music was too loud so at some point we had to really yell at each other. Overall decent place, portion for the price in the food desert south OC. Flavor is ok but for this type chain restaurants I think it’s performance is above average.
