Its my first time in this salon and my experience is amazing. I’m not sure what I’m going to color my hair and I research online and I found the one I like and showed alex and he did a great job. I love my hair. thank you alex

I love this place. They offer great service and I had an awesome experience here. The place is clean and the stylist is friendly and skillful. I totally recommend it.

Cheap and good haircut. Grateful they had openings on a Sunday afternoon. Worth the trip to Daly City for that alone! The man that cut my hair did really well and understood what I wanted.

If I could give Jessica more stars, I surely would. I have curly hair I have had my share of bad haircuts from various places such as Regis in Stonestown, Salon 725 in San Bruno, and Element Salon in Daly City. I will never go to these places again.
When someone knows how to work with curly hair, they know it all! Jessica is not only a master at what she does, but she is also really genuine and kind. She was patiently waiting for me when I arrived for my morning appointment. I told her that I wanted a wash, very short trim while keeping my long layers, and flat iron. I mentioned that I would be attending a wedding that evening so I wanted a sleek look.
Truly, I couldn’t be happier with my cut, style, and overall experience at this salon. Jessica washed my hair so thoroughly while giving me a gentle message. It was so relaxing! She then took her time to blow dry and then flat iron my hair carefully.
Most people really rush through these steps, but not Jessica. She was truly present and focused. Then, she slowly began to trim the dry ends, and I reminded her, «Not too short please.» She respectfully did everything I asked for.
I attended the wedding that evening and received many compliments. My hair looked so smooth, shiny, and even, while framing my face with the front layers. Also, the length was perfect. She didn’t cut too much, which has happened to me so many times in the past with other stylists.
The price was amazing and I gave her a $ 7 tip, which Jessica well-​deserved. Most certainly, I have found my awesome stylist, Jessica, and I am committing to her.

Just got another awesome cut and I couldn’t be happier! I’ve been going to Jessica for a few years now and she consistently gives me great cuts! She is very thoughtful in her cutting and gives great advice. I’ve had her color my hair too and she always does a great job! Another plus is that she’s also able to accommodate last minute appointments and her prices are super duper reasonable ($ 20 and up for haircuts)!

I came here Sunday morning to get my hair done, made the appointment before hand and was attended quickly. My hair was a solid brown color and I had just cut it a week before because I had a lot of breakage. My hair was the healthiest it’s been for the past two years because I’ve dyed it so much. Anyways, I showed Jessica and her assistant a picture of what I wanted. It required a change in base color and highlights. They said I’d had to bleach the whole thing first and add highlights on top of that. I was okay with that because I had done this before and I knew that’s the only way I’d get the color I really want.
So, her assistant started working on my hair. She first bleached the whole thing and then added highlights. All this took about 5 and a half hours! (I’ve had this exact same procedure done in just 3 hours with the results I’ve wanted, elsewhere) I was just desperate to leave at the end. My hair was darker than I wanted it and had a really orange tint to it. But I just wanted to leave by that time and so I paid and hoped the orange would wash off.
Two days later, the orange really bothered me. I decided to take maters into my own hands and go to Sally’s and buy a toner and fix it myself. The lady working there urged me to go back to the salon so I can get what I paid for! So I didn’t buy the toner, in fear of making it worse and went back to Jessica on Thursday. I told her there was a really orange tint and quickly, she sat me down at the hair washer station and added toner.
When she was done she sat me at the vanity and I almost cried when I saw my hair. It was back to brown! I had so more damage done to my hair and ended up with the same color I started. Jessica was professional in giving me my money back. However, that doesn’t make up the damage that has been done to my hair. I had been growing out my hair for a whole year and cut it two weeks ago, leaving it healthier than its been for a long time. This whole procedure just ended up damaging my hair so much. I’m so disappointed.
I really wanted to like this place. I even went back to give them a second chance to fix it and it was not done. I was given my money back, but it was a waste of time and my hair is so damaged. I’m mostly heartbroken at how damaged my hair is. I should have gone to my previous hairdresser but she was booked all week and I’m home only this week for spring break and wanted to go back to school with new hair. Now, I’m just going back with the same brown hair but with 4 inches of damage.

I pretty much just paid $ 20 for him to brush my hair. He didn’t get it wet, didn’t make sure both sides were even, and the underside is shorter than the hair on top. I was in and out in 15 minutes and I’m not satisfied at all.

I have found my new stylist and her name is JESSICA! Jessica is just so sweet and amazing. I called in the morning and asked if she had space that same day and she was able to fit me in at 2:30pm.
My hair is extremely long (about waist length) and like most girls I was very attached to my hair. I asked for about 4 inches off. After a few minutes of back and forth with Jessica about the length, we settled on 5 inches. She suggested that since my hair was so long it was pretty damaged with split ends.
The final product was about 6 inches off with long layers. I asked for an oval/​U shape and it came out really well.
I also got my eyebrows and upper lip threaded and she spent a pretty good deal working on my eyebrows which I love.

I was very pleased to find this hair salon.
They are excellent!
The price is very reasonable.

I walked into this hair salon the other day without any appointments, and had a great experience. Not only I got the haircut I want, the service was great, and I’m just 100% satisfied. Will visit again.

First time getting my haircut and eyebrows done here, Jessica was so sweet and welcoming! I made an appointment for 12:30 and was seen right on time. She trimmed my long layers perfectly. I have dry hair, but she left it super bouncy. As for my eyebrows… unfortunately, they did not turn out good. She cleaned me up okay, but I felt more tweezing than threading. They look super uneven and she shaped them completely different. All in all, she was great. Will definitely return for a haircut, but not for my brows!

So happy I came across this place! Jessica is super sweet and amazing at what she does! Came here for a haircut today and was seated right away. My hair was suuuuuper long and I just wanted to chop it off up to my boob and add some layers. She did exactly what I asked and it came out perfect! Way better than I expected :) And whats even better is that they only charge $ 20! Soooo worth it, definitely coming back!

Seems like they get the simple stuff right and for a good price, but I highly recommend going to a proven and quality salon for color. I came in to get my hair color darkened and evened out after I outgrew (pun intended) my ombré. When the color washed out, my hair was noticeably darker (black) at the top and brown on the ends — a reverse ombré. I asked about it, and she said it would look different when it dried. It dried. It was more noticeable. She said it would fade out with a wash. it didn’t. She said it would fade in a couple weeks. It didn’t. Then she started making excuses about how it was because I had dyed hair at the bottom and it picked up the color more. Yes, I know that. I thought you would know that. If that were the case, I would have paid more for toner.
At the end of the day, I get that things happen but I’m mainly disappointed with the lack of reparative recourse. She basically shrugged her shoulders and said it would get better and it didn’t, and didn’t offer. I asked if I could come back in the couple weeks if it didn’t and she didn’t give me a straight answer. It was clear I was upset; in all honestly, but I paid anyway because by that point, it’s not cool to just not pay. I don’t have the balls. I should have gone back to have them fix it but I didn’t trust them with my hair anymore and it was so noticeable I had to go to another salon the next day to fix it.
If you’re looking to save money on a cut, this might be the place for you but for any detailed service, go elsewhere. There are lots of other cheap salons in the area. Learned my lesson — you get what you pay for.

I was looking for a place that could take me right away and luckily I found J’s. What is nice is that there is a nail salon next door so you can get your herrrr and nails did in one stop.
Not gonna lie, I was a little nervous when I found out that the hair cut was only going to be $ 20. I asked for a wash which was only $ 5 more. Unfortunately, I do not remember the name of the woman that cut my hair but she was an older woman who was very sweet. I still was a little anxious when I showed her a picture of the cut I wanted unsure if she was understanding exactly what I wanted. Her methods, which seemed unconventional to me, ended up leaving me with a fabulous cut! It wasn’t EXACTLY what I wanted because she pretty persistent on some of her recommendations. However, I left the salon feeling glamorous and that is a lot to say when you are a woman of my age. :)
The only negative thing is that she has heavy hands when washing my hair. I felt like her nails were digging into my scalp. But then again, I am a big weenie when it comes to other people touching my head and feet (a trip to the nail salon is torture for me). Out the door for $ 25! I left a $ 10 tip… still way cheaper than what I normally pay. What a deal!

We stopped here to get my husband a haircut on our way to a birthday dinner on the peninsula. Given that «beauty» is in the shop’s name, I was a little worried that this salon would be more for women than men, but other Unilocal reviews meet me confident that my husband would get a good haircut.
Zvan gave my husband an amazing haircut, with no wait. He took my husband’s from a crazy, grown-​out mop to a very Bradley Cooper-​esque hot do. He also trimmed his beard. All-​in, the total was something like $ 21 + big tip for amazing work. GREAT value fur a sexy haircut. Thank you, Zvan.

I got my haircut about a month ago. I really had a great experience with Jessica. This place is walking distance from my home, so i figured I’d give it a try since i heard great things on Unilocal.
I wanted an A-​line cut similar to a long bob. I already have short hair, i was just looking for more shape since my old bob grew out and i wanted to get rid of all my split ends. She did a great job, but the left side is way shorter then my right side. So, my hair is uneven.
I tried flipping it to give it an even look by moving more hair to the left side of my head, but being that my hair is short it just looked messy. Now, i must grow it out for a few months just to get it fixed so it can be even. I wasnt expecting my hair to be too short. I wanted my hair in the front to look long and short in the back, but its more like short all around and one side shorter than the other :(
I also asked for partial highlights, i wanted burgandy. Unfortunately the dye faded after just a couple of weeks and I ended up redying it myself.
Overall, she was friendly and tried her best. This place is super affordable. A fresh Cut & highlights was only $ 40. I’m just a little bummed out that I didn’t get the look I wanted.

This review is long overdue. Jessica and her crew is truly top notch in what they do. You can’t find another place who can cut/​color as well as they do for an unbeatable price!
I’ve been going to Jessica for almost a year and I couldn’t be happier with her service. I’m usually a redhead and she colors my hair just right and I constantly get praises for the special «red» she blends for me.
She recently added threading to her service so it’s a one stop for all your beauty needs :)

Walking in, Lily welcomed me into J’s Beauty Salon.
She was friendly and carefully listened to my request of a trim. I appreciated that she showed me how much she was trimming; she reassured me that she would keep my length and focus on trimming my split ends. I was happy when I saw the end result in her mirror.
This beauty salon has a small parking lot accessible on the Sullivan Avenue side of the building. The larger lot on the 187^th Street side is for the other businesses.
I look forward to future haircuts by Lily. Her days off are Sundays and Thursdays.
