Love this place. My family and friends almost come here every week. Sushi is yummy and fresh.

Trendy restaurant at Serramonte Mall. Service is friendly and attentive. Food is delicious. Our faves are the chicken karage and sushi burrito. Tonight, we’re here to watch the Warriors game. The vibe here is amazing…

Wanted to try a new sushi place and decided on this place. Literally 1 minute into being seated our server came over to ask if we were ready to order but didn’t ask about drinks. Despite that little bit, he was extremely helpful and checked on us every few minutes. I got a bento box and it was probably the grossest assortment I’ve ever had, and they wouldn’t let me switch out the salad for another rice but would allow to switch rice out for another salad. I got chicken katsu, tempura roll, and tempura assortment. The chicken was undercooked and tasted different from all others that I’ve had at different restaurants. Tempura roll was not very pretty to look at, and tasted really bland. Safeway has a better selection no doubt. The tempura assortment was pretty disappointing too because at every other sushi restaurant I’ve ordered this, I get two of each piece, this time I didn’t. Wish the veggies could have been cooked longer so they would be crunchy. The shrimp was also pretty gross. I’ve never ever seen tempura shrimp so thick and huge, and have such a mushy texture.
3 stars for the nice server, even though it took him 10 minutes to bring us our check and card back even though there were only 2 other tables, and free hot sake with Unilocal check-​in.

With Mother’s Day yesterday, I had visited this place with my boyfriend’s family. Being informed that we were given a table despite majority of the restaurant being reserved, I do commend them for that. As I had left early, I have a limited amount to share on the service:
Service: Our waitress was polite and attentive. She even cleaned up a mess the youngest of our group had made with water and ice. She seemed to be in a rush, but it was Mother’s Day so I don’t blame her.
Food: I had ordered the Ultimate California Roll which came with miso soup, but shared the ultimate spider roll and assorted tempura. The miso soup, for starters, was decent. It wasn’t very rich, but it was sufficient. The ultimate California roll had a rather small portion of crab in it, but a lot of rice and the shrimp tempura on top had too much breeding around it, while the actual shrimp in it was very small and slim. The shrimp included in the assorted tempura also suffered from this. The ultimate spider roll was the best in the batch, as it was very savory and had a nice texture to it. The presentation of the rolls and soup were clean and satisfactory, while the assorted tempura appeared to be slightly messy.
Although the experience with the food served to us, afterwards both my boyfriend and I left feeling very heavy and bloated. With past experiences at other japaneese restaurants, this typically does not happen. I’m not sure if it was due to the amount of fried foods or the sodium we took in eating there, but that was another down fall of Barracuda.

I went there last night at 9:20pm I understand the place closes at 10:00pm so as we arrived (2ppl) I told the host we just want to order to go. She looked at me very upset and with a mouthful of food said we are closed bye bye as I saw all the food she was chewing she said her name was Kim. We often go to this place because it’s close to my home and have gone there once before at the same time and was attended and served to go. Nope not this time she looked so upset and unprofessional.
We went next door to Elephant bar next door and told them we were just there to order to go they said that we were more then welcome to dine at the restaurant but we wanted to take to go. I guess they will be getting our business from now on and I will definitely recommend the Elephant Bar.

Food was pretty good but was also pretty pricey. Ordered the entrée with sashimi and rice (forgot the name of the dish) but it was $ 22 and it came with mostly rice, was not worth the price. Also ordered 2 rolls which tasted okay, not the best. The lobster rolls were very refreshing and the lollipop scallops were pretty tasty. Better than a typical Japanese restaurant so I give it 4 stars and I would come again.

After reading some good reviews about their happy hour, me and my friend want to give it a try last Tuesday. The happy hour is from 4−6pm, so we decide to order some items from the happy hour menu and couple items on regular menu. After Unilocaling and waiter recommendation: we ordered spicy edamame, Chicken Kara-​age, 49 rolls, barracuda roll and seafood salad.
The food are so so good. Love the sauce of spicy edamame «highly recommend», the fish on the seafood salad are fresh and the dressing is tasty. Rolls are as good as the waiter described.
The Japanese waiter is friendly, has good recommendations and he came and check with us couple times. Environment is nice, service is great and convenient location.
Definitely going back again

Food was good but service not so great. Food came in at varying times for my group. Meaning everyone was done eating before the food arrived for two people (party of 7). Server went missing on us and when finally found him we cancelled the last order but received no apologies or any explanation. Very disappointing. Won’t come back. Service charge was built in since we were a large party so maybe that’s why no service was actually given. The third star was for the quality of the food that actually arrived, and I’m reluctant to give that.

After shopping on a Wednesday evening, my friend and I decided to try Barracuda for the first time. Yes, its on the pricier side, but what can you expect when having dinner in a sushi restaurant located in a shopping center.
On to the review. As we walked in, we were seated immediately and didn’t have to wait. I’m usually pretty indecisive about what to order when it comes down to sushi rolls. I took a good amount of time looking through the large selection of sushi rolls in the menu and still I wasnt able to decide what I wanted. The friendly waiter with the glasses was being really patient with me. He did not gave me any feelings of having the rush my orders. I asked for recommendations and he suggested me with the barracuda and 49ers roll which was delicious. Food was good, company was great. The service was excellent. The waiter was really nice, walked by a few times to check up on us. The atmosphere is good. I felt really comfortable sitting and chatting it up with my friend. With the convenience of the location, wonderful staff, and yummy rolls, i will definitely be back.

Love coming here when visiting my parents! Very clean, and the staff is always nice.

If you like a sweet and strong drink the gummi bear Martini is a must!
My father loves their tempura, and I love the seasoned edamame.
Really can’t go wrong with any choice here. And the staff is always up for helping.
Parking can suck, since its right outside the mall.

This place has horrible customer service! HORRIBLE. You wait and wait and your food never seems to be done. People wait outside the door and no one greets them. How do they even manage to open a business with such customer service?! I don’t care if your food is tasty or not. If you have horrible customer service. I’m never coming !

My elderly parents raved about this place as they have been here a couple of times for lunch and had good food and service. My sister and I traveled from Pacifica for 6pm dinner. The waiter was a two toned (hair) little punk that had no respect and should be tossed out the door! We think his uncle had to hire his lil ass :) AAAnnnny wayzzz. My mother had to ask twice for water, I had to get up and go ask for knife to cut the beef wrapped asparagus. My mother’s food came 10 minutes before ours and Dad had burnt yacatorri and a half of cup of rice not a whole cup he paid for.
Not once did 2tone ask if we needed anything but he did remind us of the beep beep road runner cause he spoke fast and just when you would try to ask a question he would twirl away…
The dishes that started to pile up– we put on the next table along with the menus he did not take away. No thanks!

Quiet/​loud enough to have a conversation and not have to yell at the person next to you or to the front of you.
I’ve lived in Daly City all my life & this is one of my newer favorite spots! And an added bonus theirs a target right next door!

I’ve been to a lot of Japanese Restaurants and most if not all usually have a great design to the location. This place is very basic and the chairs are starting to get a little worn. Moving onto the service. The service was great! She was very nice, but unfortunately i forget her name. (If you’re reading this, 3÷19÷16 @ 930pm was the time) Next the food. The food was probably the biggest disappointment. As much as it all look amazing and delicious it was not. The fish did not taste that fresh. We also ordered a udon dish and that was not great as well. Seems like they reuse previously stored items, but they seem more than a day old.

Barracuda serves average Japanese food for a hefty price.
Some dishes I enjoy here include the sashimi salad, chirashi, and bento boxes. The rolls here are generally ok, but I find them to be not so worth it. They occasionally have some specials where you can get your meal 20% off and other promotions here. Barracuda used to be such a wonderful restaurant, but I just feel that over the years that it has gradually declined in quality.

Service’s good. The waitress gave us some edamame for our long-​wait for our orders.

This restaurant was to our satisfaction! Pricier than the other sushi places we go to, to order brown rice sushi .
However the edamame is actually warm (for us that I a DEF bonus!!!) the waiter was attentative to make sure out water glasses were staying full.
We ordered 2 sushi rolls, fire and scallop, and 2 orders of the salmon sashimi!
The rolls were great, different than our usual sushi spot, but good! The brown rice around he sushi rolls though was not as moist so picking them up with chopsticks was hard to keep them together. The sashimi was a good serving for how much it costs, but the pieces are cut a little too thick (can’t complain much about that though, because your getting more for you 5pieces $ 10.
Overall we will go back, they are a great alternative to visit for a nice sushi dinner!
