Well, we tried out Yumi To Go last night because we were in the mood for Chinese, and we just haven’t been able to find a good place around. If you know of one, shoot ‘em my way! But as for Yumi To Go, they aren’t horrible, it’s just a value thing. First, they give you«crispy chicken» in a sauce that drowns any crispiness. And the chicken bites aren’t really bite-sized, so you’ve got to cut them a bit. Also, the orange chicken was bright orange and tasted just… not great. For the price, I’ve had better in larger quantities, and will probably not come back to Yumi To Go for my Chinese eating needs… It’s ok though. Guess you like ‘em or you don’t. And I don’t. No biggie.

I’ve tried this place twice. I really wanted to like them ! I was excited to try them and ordered delivery. I ordered the beef and broccoli and rice. The beef honestly didn’t taste like beef, which I thought was weird. And the broccoli was soggy and the rice tasted old. I never wanted to order from them again but I kept saying to myself«maybe they just had a bad day ». So I gave them another shot months later. Got shrimp and broccoli with noodles. That time is wasn’t as bad but it was a bit too salty. It just isn’t a place I’m going to think of to order from when I’m craving Asian.

I was drawn in with a groupon for $ 12 of Yumi to Go for just $ 6…the way I see it is most any meal for $ 6 is just fine with me. They had quote the lunch selection with meals all around $ 7, I ordered the chicken pad thai with tofu instead of chicken and no peanuts… I got chicken pad thai with tofu instead of chicken and WITH peanuts. I have no allergy but Yumi did not know that. I’ll deal, but I judge. It was good. For about $ 7 I got the most ridiculous portion of pad thai. I swear I ate half of it and the box was still full(yeah, it grew back!). This was the least spicy pad thai I’ve also ever had, I didn’t expect spicy, but I didn’t expect so mild. And to come up with more to spend to hit that $ 12 without going over I ordered the cheesecake rolls. These were okay. I don’t dislike cheesecake but guess I don’t love it so much that I will eat it in any way, shape, or form. It’s basically fried cheesecake… cheesecake with an egg roll wrapper on the outside. The outside was good but had no desire to eat warm, mushy cheesecake. I am not going to say i wouldn’t go back, I would just 1. order something different, 2. not order the cheesecake, 3. make sure I have someone to share my meal with.

Unfortunately, I came here and should have known that«To Go» would mean that I would be forced to eat… you guessed it… to go. Oh well, it was nicely packed, and it came with disposable, though I feel that something like this concept that encourages delivery and less-driving should promote«compostable» junk. I am reviewing both locations to solve that debate that so many Unilocalers have: 3.5 or 3 and 4, 2.5 or 2 and 3. Well, with EXACTLY two locations of this Lemmon eatery, I can give one a 3 and one a 4. Don’t know if that is exactly kosher, but I figure that it wouldn’t hurt to give this little disclaimer! The menu is pretty expansive, and it hits on pretty much every standard protein and Asian cuisine thinkable – that is, for those who take this Asian American eating style with a grain of salt. No way should you have«salads» at a joint that cranks out ahi tuna or Korean beef skewers. Alas, it is Dallas, and it is convenient to feed all sorts of palates. Unfortunately, they were out of the one thing that caught my eye: the lobster spring rolls. Its lobster meat and serrano combination sounded fantastic. So, we went with the Kalbi beef skewers and green tea soba noodles. And a hand-tossed salad. They do a GREAT job with the salads; they are fresh, they are chock-full of toppings, and they are fully customizable. To shed light on how great they are, we got avocado, red bell peppers, blanched broccoli, and other assorted ingredients that can run a joint like this to the ground, if everyone went to town on them. The pomegranate dressing was not half bad. The soba noodles were well cooked, but the slightly salty, tart sauce was a little off turning. A little more flavor could have been imparted from the noodles onto the beef. The beef was tolerably tender, but the flavor was just sort of one-noted. All in all, I would say that YTG is a quick, convenient option if you are driving by for lunch or want some delivery for the office. Nothing special, but I believe that the ingredients are one notch above. Give it a shot.

I ordered the how fun noodles and egg rolls… and I was pleasantly surprised. I probably wouldn’t have ever tried this place if it weren’t for the groupon. I’m so glad I did! The egg rolls were light and fresh, not like the usual ones you get at chinese takeout places. The noodles were cooked with chicken breast and had a good amount of spice(which I really like). If you are looking for the usual greasy Chinese food… this is NOT the place to go! Would definitely come back again.

We checked this place out last night because we had a Groupon and wanted something quick to take home. The staff was very nice, the food came out pretty quick and it was pretty tasty. The edamame was quite delicious, the potstickers were so so, the shrimp fried rice was tasty and quite filling and the orange chicken was pretty flavorful. I don’t think I would rush back, but would check it out again if I was in the mood for takeout.

I didn’t expect much from this place, but they actually surpassed my expectations by quite a bit. Order taker on the phone was polite, funny, and very thorough. 1 star. He said it would take 30 – 45 minutes. It took 20. 2 stars. Delivery person was also polite, funny(same person?). 3 stars. Food was hot, fresh, tasty, and served in the nicest tupperware to go containers I’ve ever seen. 4 stars. I only take off a star because it was expensive. There is 2 dollar delivery charge. But hey, I got Chinese food in my slippers!

Good for a carry out only, fast food joint. Catered to my picky dietary desires. Even made me a dish not on the menu — sesame tofu. After this review, I know they’ll add it :-) Tangy and sweet, like me(see the pics)

It’s basically Pei Wei that delivers, which is fine. I like Pei Wei, I like Yumi To Go. If Pei Wei delivered I would probably order from them. If you like Pei Wei and am comfortable with the minimum order, go for it, you will not be disappointed. In my experience you can order two dishes, one for dinner and one for lunch the next day and it will reheat fine in the microwave to meet the minimum order. I feel conflicted on my rating, I don’t want to oversell it but I also feel I am underselling it. I like Pei Wei, I am really in the mood for Pei Wei sometimes, as long as you are going in with Pei Wei expectations you will be pleased that you can have it delivered.

I’ve been twice now and am overall pleased with Yumi. I ordered the kids chicken skewers with steamed rice. My daughter is 8 and has a pretty advanced palate for her age. She barely ate the chicken. Personally I think it was too dry and doesn’t have any sauce, etc. on it. Come on, kids like sauce so I make my own teriyaki sauce before dinner and added it to her meal. We ordered the ahi tuna eggrolls. One eggroll was cook appropriately while the other was way overcooked and chewy. It’s a good concept just wish it would of been executed better. I ordered the orange chicken. The chicken itself was really good. You can tell the chicken is battered with potato, it was very tender, sauce was good but a little too saucy. The entrée portions to me are more lunch portioned than dinner and I don’t eat a lot. Husband ordered their version of kung pao chicken. I think he thought it was fine. Again it was all good just not a wow factor, small portions and dry chicken(on daughter’s meal). Second visit: Ordered chicken fried rice and the how fun noodles. Much better experience. Chicken fried rice is so good, fresh, not greasy. The how fun noodles were delicious. Both portions were huge. The noodles kind of remind you of worms because of their size but the flavor was great. I ordered them with the beef which was tender and good. Yumi.

There is a Yumi close to where I live, so I wanted to give it a try. They food was average for Asian. The dishes were relatively small portion sizes, and somewhat bland. There isn’t anywhere to sit inside, so you must take the food to go. They do deliver, which makes it quite convenient. Overall I was disappointed, would rather order out from another chinese restaurant, the food was just too bland.

We really enjoyed yumi to go. I had the orange chicken with fried rice. The sauce was very flavorful and tangy. The chicken had a little crisp to them and was very tender. The fried rice was excellent. The rice they use is smaller than normaly fried rice. They put eggs in it which is cool bc they normally only put eggs if you get the fried rice with chicken. The type of grains they use are a little smaller and they are so tender. It’s not the normal fried rice you get at fast food Chinese restaraunts. Laura had the How Fun noodles and the Dan Dan noodles another time and said they were both delicious. We also tried the egg rolls and the lettuce wraps and those were both very good. nice crispy lettuce and the egg rolls had a great texture.

I really wanted to like this place. It’s really close to my office and so convenient for me when I’m busy and can’t take a long lunch. Unfortunately, the food is awful. I’ve given Yumi to Go three chances. They failed miserably all three times. I tried the Chicken Lo Mein on my first trip, and it was less than mediocre. The noodles were overcooked, and everything was a congealed mess. On the second trip I had the Grilled Thai Chicken Skewers with Cold Thai Noodle Salad in peanut sauce. It sounded so good, but the chicken was bland and the peanut dressing that provided a pool for the noodles to swim in was sickeningly sweet. Third try, I ordered the Chicken Wonton Noodle Soup — how can you screw that up, right? The broth was greasy. It tasted like someone mixed chicken broth with a healthy portion of week-old oil from a McDonald’s fryer. Nasty and completely inedible. Never again.

Very fresh food — every time I order it is consistently good and fresh. Delivery is usually excellent… there have been one or two instances where I had to call to ask where my food was but I would say 85% of the time, it is on time or early. Love the tuna poke cups — best thing I have had in a while.

Neon colors and a bubbly font doesn’t translate into an authentically Asian, or unique or interesting menu. Food tastes good and clean, if Americanized, but it’s nothing special, and such small portions! They deliver so it’s handy if you’re sick. PS: No where to sit down and eat inside.

This place excels for being a fast food. Don’t be apprehensive in going here for GREAT food. It is fresh and prepared very well with large portions. Take advantage of the fact that Yumi has low overhead and keeps prices in check. For the money, it is 5 stars. I usually go to Whole Foods for well prepared food so money is not a huge deal for me ad will say that I will be going to Yumi more often.

Tired of that every day lunch delivery guy? You know who I’m talking about. That Chinese delivery that leaves a pamphlet on your doorknob or the pizza guy who you think sneezed on your pie. Or even Jimmy Johns. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good sammy, but I can’t eat it everyday. Well my pets, I have a solution for you. YUMI!!! I have little time(most days) to run out and get lunch. So I am usually ordering JJ’s or Chinese or Pizza. Ugh. It gets old. Fast. A co-worker of mine suggooosted this place and I’m all… uh, sorry I’m the foodie here I know about everyplace. But shoooz grillz, she snapped me. It’s mostly Chinese oriented, dishes all served with brown rice(except noodle ones of course). They also have amazing salads. I’ve now eaten here a handful of times and I always start with the crab and cream cheese rolls… crunchy and lightly fried and served with this sauce. Not really sure what it is, but it adds a great flavor. I’ve also had the dan dan noodles. Really good, but I dunno, I feel like something was missing. Ok, now for the stop what you’re doing meal. HOWFUNNOODLES! No, that’s the name of the dish. And you know what, they are fun. Udon noodles in this spicy broth(not soup like) with chicken & veggies. I would gladly sit in a bathtub full of those noodles and just play with my rubber duckie. I mean really. Quite breathtaking. Yumi, thank you for being quick, fresh, yummy and well priced! I appreciate you bringin new meaning to my lunch delivery repertoire. OH! And if you place an order to go(delivery) you can watch them make your food on their website! How fun!

Yumi To Go has my heart. They are near-by…ridiculously friendly… easy to order, and VERY quick to deliver… not too expensive… and will hit the spot every time. Horry Cow! Isn’t that the equation for a perfect night on the couch with take-out??? I THOUGHT so! My sis and I order from Yumi almost once a week. Their website is ridiculously user friendly with pictures of EVERY dish, and they are quick to get you your food. On top of that, the drivers are so friendly… they always call and are SO excited to be delivering food to you… ha. kinda cute. They ALWAYS chat with ya for a bit, then head back off in their adorable little YumiToGomobile… a couple times the head chef himself brought us our grub. Fancy I tell ya. Now to the food… I WILL say it isn’t STEEL or PF Changs quality, but it’s damn good and hits the spot every time. I love their soups, pot stickers and dumplings… and their lettuce wraps are as close to PF Changs as you’re gonna get. Eggrolls… delish. The Mongolian Beef is my sisters favorite, and all their fried rice dishes are hangover heaven. I cant wait to try their Ahi Tuna dishes, and they just added a bunch of awesome salads to their menu. Need a cherry on top? Here ya go… they have a web cam in their kitchen so you can watch them make YOUR food… hahaha…AAAND the Tupperware the food comes in??? TOTALLY reusable… I have an entire collection of little soup containers and Tupperware dishes… is that weird? So grab your snuggie, turn on your movie, and get you so yummy in your tummy, Yumi To Go! …no seriously… now…

With the crazy Texas weather acting up on Friday the BF and I decided to take some grub to go(plus Victor Tango had over an hour wait). We thought of Yumi as it was nearby and I had always been curious about the place. We were the only people there waiting for take out and the staff was very patient as we were looking over the menu. There was an assortment of salads, wok items, soups, skewers and appetizers. We ordered the crab cream cheese rolls, Mongolian beef with brown rice and how fun noodles with beef costing us a little over 25 bucks. The wait was less than 10 minutes long and the food was still ultra warm when we got home. We were both pretty excited when we got home and dived into the crab rolls while still taking off our coats. It took everything I had to not spit out the rolls right then and there. I looked over and could tell that my boyfriend was disappointed too. Not only did the rolls suck but so did the«Chinese vinaigrette dipping sauce.» There was just too much cream cheese and not enough crab in these babies and the dipping was a sweet and thick almost raspberry syrup which did not compliment the rolls at all. We moved that to the side and began to work on our entrees. I already have my pepper, siracha and other condiments on the side thinking I would need to recook this dish to be edible as well. I was surprised. My how fun noodles were actually good. There was udon noodles which I love swimming in a nice tangy brown spicy sauce with jalapenos, Chinese beans, green onions, basil and chewy beef. The mongolian beef was a bit sweet but good considering it’s «fast food.» I also like that they provide brown rice as an option!
