I’ve been here a few times, but I must always come on days when they’re out of almost every beer on tap(and are gonna get more the next day). I always look forward to visiting and trying new beers, but it’s usually after 5 or 6 tries that I find something that’s on tap. A little disappointing, but I’ll keep trying my luck.

Pretty neat place with a crap ton of beer. Or should I say a ‘world’ of beer. I was quite disappointed as my boyfriend has gone on and on about the dang pretzel. We get there and guess what? No darn pretzels. Ugh.

Beer prices are terrible. Only a couple wheat beers on draft. One is $ 9 for a pint. Food was fine but unremarkable. Service was generally good but one waitress made a snarky comment about the beer that was ordered. Offered a sample of a more expensive beer but the keg was empty. Likely not coming back.

I’m not a beer snob, but I’m totally open to the idea of trying new beers any day of the week. I was pleasantly surprised when visiting this location. Environment: Great location. Very clean with adequate amount of tabletop and counter seating. I also spotted an oversized Jenga set in the back. Restrooms are spotless and the tables weren’t sticky. Overwhelming number of TVs for such a small location. Impossible to sit in a seat with no view of a screen. Food/Drinks: When first looking at the menu and items on tap, there’s a really intimidating amount to choose from. A friend of mine got the Flight set, which gives you a choice of 4(mini) local beers for only $ 8. Great for the days you’re looking for some variety. I was recommended the«Pretzel Beer»(I can’t remember the exact name, but it’s the first one listed on the wall); tried a sample of it and couldn’t get enough. I never heard of it before that day, so WoB now has my attention. Good recommendation from the staff. I wouldn’t exactly classify it as «world» beer, since I only saw like two Asian-based beer. I’d say a majority of the selection are American, South American, and European. Maybe a few other scattered countries. However, you can count on a few locals like Founders, Deep Ellum, Rahr & Sons, etc. These will always be in a Texan’s heart. Food is mediocre here. Very much the standard«bar» food. I ordered the Tavern Tators, which were pretty good. I really enjoyed the house-made cheese on top and the order was much larger than I anticipated. My other friend ordered the Pretzel and said that it was too salty. The overall presentation of the pretzel was impressive and it was large enough to dangle freely from a banana hook thing. 4⁄5 stars. Great place to watch a game and get a dose of pretzel beer. Food isn’t something that I would come back for, but it isn’t bad. For my non-beer fans, there are a few options on the menu that don’t contain alcohol, as well as wines and cocktails.

World of Beer probably has the worst name of any bar in town. Walking past, you’re not entirely sure if it’s a bar or just a liquor store… Do they serve food? Is it a museum? No wonder it’s always slow in there when I drive by. HOWEVER, when I finally went in, we had a really good experience. Since nobody was is in there we got great seats, service was fast and nice, and the selection of beers were, of course, plentiful. Give this place a try over the Barley House next time your down there. As long as it’s called World of Beer, there will always be an open seat for you!

Visit this place to try a great selection of beer and not to have a bite to eat. Tons of selection, local and international. If you’ve herd of it they probably have it. The service was ok. Initially I was greeted and given my drink and food menu but after I placed my first order and received it the quality of service deminished. It took a while(15 min) till the bartender/server took notice of my glass being empty. But that’s not the worst part. The food was… unpleasant. I ordered some wings and they were huge! Unfortunately they were completely raw! Im talking translucent, pink, bloody meat. I asked if they could give me a new batch because these were raw. They understood and cooked me up some more. Again raw! More cooked this time than the last batch but still pink and bloody. I asked for a refund and got it. The beer was good, service was good but not amazingly great, chicken wings were a definite NO.

The beer selection was great, and as the name implies, that’s really the only reason to go there. I was underwhelmed by the food. I first ordered loaded tater tots, but they were out of melted cheese, which meant I also couldn’t order by backup of a soft pretzel.(Admittedly it was huge and looked delicious). I ordered Buffalo style chicken wings, though, but there was barely any sauce or spice to them. They brought me an extra dish of sauce, but it was clumpy and gross.

My initial reasons for World of Beer’s mediocre rating were the prices and the scenery. However, I’m updating my review due to the wonderful customer service I received when I came back. What changed? The manager. The new manager, Steven, reached out to after my review and informed me that after reading many complaints about the prices, he changed them to make them more reasonable and invited me back, which I did. And yes, the prices are now lower and reasonable. :) I haven’t visited on a busier night, so I can’t comment on the atmosphere. However, the beer selection is great and now it’s reasonably priced(yay!). Additionally, both Steven and the bartender are super friendly and knowledgeable about beer, which is important for bars that pride on their beers. There’s nothing more disappointing than asking for recommendations and the bartender is clueless about the product he’s selling, so it’s definitely nice that the staff at World of Beers are passionate about beer!

If you’re coming here for the food, you’re wrong. The food is just icing on the(beer) cake. Beer selection is ridiculous, and bartenders are extremely knowledgeable. Highly recommended.

Pros: The typical excellent beer selection for WOB. CON: The PRICES! I travel for a living, so I’ve been to several WOB’s and a ton of beer bars and breweries. These prices are insane for their beers! The average price isn’t close to other WOB’s.

The reason I don’t go out to this part of town much is the usual nightmare parking which is hard for some of us suburbanites to deal with. Once you get over that, you’re going to love this place. There is a great selection of beers on tap and rows and rows of bottles and cans, all rotated on a regular basis. In fact, they have an app so you can browse what they have, including descriptions, ABV and the price of the beer before you buy it. The bar tenders will let you try pretty much anything they have on tap and if you want a bottle or can, will be happy to give you recommendations. Which means they either really take notice of feed back from customers, or they drink a lot of beer themselves! Not only will you find beers from all over the world from countries such as Estonia, Peru, Thailand, Vietnam, and more, but they also have ciders for those who want.well.not beer. Can’t really comment on the food other than the Tavern Tots, which are tata tots covered in beer cheese, with jalapenos and sour cream(I always get a side of ranch) and I actually like them. My friend has had the burgers and enjoys them but not sure how he’d rate them. Only a few entrees and not much appeals to me so next time I might take up the advise on trying the taco place next door first. As for the staff, Chelsey did a great job looking after us as did the other bar staff, they all help out together so you’re not stuck trying to flag down your bartender. Overall, great selection of beer, friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive staff. Downside is the parking(don’t try and park in the caged in garage behind the bar!), but once you get over that, let the beers flow!

Now I like beer… like a lot. It’s almost a love. So obviously the place with the title World of Beer is a staple… A must have stop in ones bar hopping route if you will. The bar has never been smu crowded like the adjacent locations of barley house and milos. So big plus 1. The selection is slap ya mama good…(If it’s my mom slap twice) I regularly trust fall my beer selection into the hands of the barkeep… yes its worth it. They know their shit. I could easily be like«hey Shaun or ricky… I’m looking for an in a that is more pine needle like and has finish that’s smoother than a royal lane happy ending… and he will hand you exactly that. It’s glorious Food is a side note. It looks decent but torchys is next door… so yeah… Price is moderate but they have last call specials on beers that are either not going to be restocked or are running low. Go watch a game there and have some beer knowledge dropped on ya

Obviously a large selection of beer. Many canned selections but a lot on draft too. Canned selections were organized by where the beers were from(TX, USA, other countries). The wait staff was very friendly, attentive, and helpful. She mentioned an apricot beer and brought a sample over and it was pretty good so I stuck with that. It was light and maybe even a cider. Ordered the pretzel even though the kitchen was closed. the wait staff made it for us anyway. Food menu is limited but there are some selections. I would totally come back.

Overall I had a good time watching the World Cup final, but the venue was really lacking in key areas: First, Pros: amazing beer selection, all places had good view of game, parking was easy. Cons: the seating was uncomfortable and they were way understaffed. It was so loud, too. Also, I think they were over the«maximum occupancy» which led to the understaffing.

Really nice bar, great bartenders who give good recommendations and a killer beer menu… what’s not to like? We’ve been to the WOB in Tempe, AZ many times and like it just as much.

I’ve been here a handful of times now and it seems to get better and better every time. Nothing about the atmosphere ever really changes — but it’s just the experience. The place is just a chill little spot, never noisy and over bearing. It’s a place you can kick back and relax and have a bunch of good beers, enjoy some sports on TVs, you can strike up a conversation with any of the patrons and/or bartenders. And it’s just always a good solid time. With probably at least a 100 beers to choose from and rotating taps there’s literally something for everybody. They hold beer school nights and competitions and you can even get prizes for drinking enough beer! pretty cool spot. Nick the bartender is a laid back guy and seems to know everything about beer. Chelsea is a good lookin gal, knows quite a bit about beer and makes good recommendations. I didn’t get a chance to catch other bartenders names but they are all a great bunch and I’ll definitely be back to earn my 50 shirt!

Recently went south of the red river with some friends. After getting food next door, we came here for some drinks and to watch a soccer game on TV. The bartender was VERY knowledgeable and attentive to our group at the bar. After confirming that they serve flights of anything on tap, I quickly asked for a sampling of local Texas brews. Everything he selected, from imperial IPA to coffee stout, was delicious. The second flight was just as diverse and tasty. I was even able to find some Stone Enjoy by 4⁄20. Soo good! Really glad we found this place and most of us left thinking we would love to have a location like this back in OKC. Once again Texas was showing Oklahoma how a beer scene should be.

Those fried pickles alone are 5 stars worthy! Battered shrimp not so much, though! My bf keeps wanting to try a bunch of new beers and WoB definitely has a huge variety to choose from. Their name is so unfortunate, however. Who made up their awful name. Sure it’s a very accurate name, but it sounds more like a name for a boutique beer grocer not a bar. Is it too late for them to change their name? Anyway, our bartenders were cool and friendly. Parking is easy. Next to Torchys and Twisted Root. Oh yeah!

Terrific selection, clean tap lines, good rotators, beautiful bottle display cases you get to ogle while bellied up to the bar. Your experience of the place will likely be colored by whether you get one of the ‘good’ servers here or not. We’ve had good & bad. It’s a shame that you don’t know what to expect, but at least here the servers aren’t objectified & dressed up as school girls(everyone is in rather dignified black«WOB» T-shirts). We visited the Arlington branch when they first opened & were regaled with stories of how extensively they train their staff at WOB’s, but no amount of training in beer knowledge will make up for picking the wrong personality. Nice all-beer concept(food is outsourced), but I agree with other reviews that it’s a rather pricey place & this location in particular is very much a *college* bar.

I’ve visited two other WOB’s(Tempe, AZ and Arlington, TX) in the past year or so. Last night I finally visited this location in Dallas. First impression was how small this location was compared to the other two I’ve visited. The fact that it was at least ½ the size of the other two locations is not a bad thing, especially since the night I visited the place was dead(a Tuesday night). After spending the previous 3 hours across the street at The Barley House with all of their drafts on special for $ 3 I knew that wasn’t going to be the case at WOB. The two biggest things that WOB have going for it is of course their huge selection of beers from all over the world(hence the name) and the friendly, knowledgeable staff. The biggest negative of WOB, at least from my limited experience, is that it’s certainly not cheap drinking. I understand that quality, hard to find beers are going to cost more. It just seems like most all of their beers are slightly more expensive than other places(I could be wrong). I will definitely go back but I will check their specials first to see if I’m missing out on some good Happy Hour specials or something like that.
