I can’t say enough great things about Kirby’s Woodfire. Whether it is date night or a nice dinner with my young children, we often go to Kirby’s. The food is consistently too-notch, but it is the service that is exceptional. The cocktails are delicious and you are missing out if you have not tried to cold smoked filet.

Came in for apps and small bites. Worst pizza and choclate cake in town. I am sure they don’t want to be called out for these sub items, but if you can’t serve a piece of cake that isnt stale or make a decent pizza in a wood over, then my guess you have problems elsewhere. no wonder the place was empty.

Not impressed with service. It was not crowded. Was given an appetizer plate with a smashed bug on it. Crab cakes were awesome! Fried shrimp was good. Nasty tasting margaritas. This is NOT $$ as it was $$$ 50 for 2 appetizers and 2 margaritas. Went elsewhere for steaks.

Place virtually empty at 8:00 on a Friday night… should’ve been a big red flag. We had tix to a show at Granada and ducked in here for a quick dinner. Shrimp cocktail app was ok, a little over cooked buy alright. Dipping sauces were cocktail sauce(fine) and what appeared to be a remoulade sauce(fine). Date just had sides, a peach spinach salad and Mac n cheese. Both were fair. I had fried shrimp, with a side of onion rings. Shrimp very over cooked, onion rings were ok but lacked seasoning. I wouldn’t have chosen this place but convenient to Granada. Won’t be back, expensive and very mediocre.

Killing time before a show, I ducked into the decidedly taupe Kirby’s, against my better judgement, as I had skipped by it for the past eight years. Now I know why. ‘My parents would like this place.’ I thought bubbled. That’s not a compliment. They like California Pizza Kitchen. I was the second youngest patron at Kirbys, and I’m 47. Nothing about this place is cool. It screams 1985 hot, with an everyman«Havertys» furniture store living room sensibility — browns and ochres, balanced with stone panels, and the occasional brass tile. The menu is insulting without one in remotely trendy item on the menu except for maybe fried brussel sprouts or the fried artichokes. Steaks are priced around $ 40 and entrees start at $ 20. Even my complimentary Unilocal appetizer for check in was denied, «he’ll want you to order something.» The bartender almost hushed with a flip coolness. I clutched my pearls. Well that’s okay, I was in the mood for something light and possibly healthy and this racket just isn’t my scene, coupled with the fragrance of old woman, suburbia, and tired businessman who just otherwise can’t stand the uniqueness of the twenty odd perfectly nice local establishments that dot Dallas’ Greenville Avenue. Ambiance didn’t save the day, neither did the menu, or the waiter who spoke with some Dallas transplant for Tampa for 4 long minutes in front of me before taking my drink order. An old acquaintance once bragged that this was her goto happy hour. She was kind of fake, a back stabber, and moved back to the generic caucasian capital Denver. If you want to insult your intelligence, eat dinner here. If you want something cheaper with a similiar menu go to Texas Land and Cattle. If you want something good, head to down to lower Greenville for something with a little more style. $ 2 of all wines by the glass for happy hour, but no food specials.

I’ve always had great food here. The dinners are outstanding(try their steaks — it’s really why you’re going anyways, right?), but don’t fill up before dessert! They know their way around a chocolate cake! My husband and I have gone there just to get drinks and dessert because we like it so much.

I’m not one to complain, but this place sucks. Dry over cooked fillet, took 2 hours of great company and conversation, then we realized we didn’t get anything but 1 of the 3 appetizers and no bread. So when the dry over cooked steaks arrived(without the pizza) we were to hangry to care. Texas peach salad was canned peaches. Nice touch.

I love Kirby’s in Southlake. But this place, not so much. We ate at the bar and the service was awful. I ordered a wedge salad, and out came a simple salad with ranch. Huh? And no chance to send it back because the bartender zipped off. We sat in front of the pizza oven and watched pizzas made and then sit under a heat lamp for ten minutes. Was a very meh experience.

Went here for valentines day dinner and was very, very disappointed. I had hickory pork as an appetizer and the first one I got was raw in the middle and still cold… When I finally did get a cooked plate it was decent but definitely not worth risking eating raw pork for. For my dinner I chose the hickory smoked rib eye, which stands out as the worst steak I’ve had in years. It was completely charred on every side while still somehow being cold in the center. Sides were cold as well. Only good thing we had all night was the bread. I will not be returning to Kirby’s anytime soon.

We have been here many times in the last year and typically, I would consider it a 3 – 3.5 star establishment. Unfortunately, last Saturday night it was a 1 star at best, bad enough I will not be returning. Things started well and we were told about some very nice chef specials. Since it was a special occasion of sorts, we all agreed on the 16oz. prime NY strip. About 10 – 15 minutes passes and the waiter returns to inform us they are out of the Prime NY strip. Wow, this is odd I thought. We were seated at 6:00pm, how could you run out of the special at 6:00pm in an almost empty restaurant? I asked the waiter how that could happen and why did it take so long to realize you were out of the steak. Then he replies the menu was old and given to us in error. Therefore, he lied, why I have no idea. I did mention that it was quite disappointing to order something and wait so long to find out they do not have it. The he stated, «I’m sorry, but this is on the kitchen. It’s not my fault». Wow was the only thing that came to mind, did he really just say that? So we decide to go with the 10oz tenderloins and move on. The sides arrive followed by the steaks, all was right with the world or so I thought. I cut into what I expected to be a medium-rare steak. It was a tad on the edge, but I thought close enough. The next bite was a blue, cold(fridge cold) bite. My son ordered his medium however, his came out the same, very cold red/blue center. We reluctantly sent the steaks back, I hate to do that but it was just impossible to eat. The other steak came out perfect so he was able to enjoy his steak and the hot side dishes. A person who I assume was in some position of authority eventually returned the steaks to us. I cannot say as all he said was please check to see if they are correct. I would almost go so far as to say he seemed agitated, as if we were somehow wrong in sending them back. To be fair the hacked up piece of steak was now cooked correctly, but it looked terrible, as did the congealed mess of cold side dishes. While not the worst meal I have ever had, it was the worst meal at that price point. They could have fixed this many times, but chose not to. A simple acknowledgement from the manager would have gone a long way towards keeping me as a customer.

So last night I went to Wood Fire Grill off Greenville Avenue and it was delish! I had quail for the first time and it really good! Like seriously! I ordered the Miso Glazed Salmon. I am telling you that had to be the best well cooked salmon ever. Most places over cook it every time, not this place. Their filet mignon was cooked well but lacked flavor. A1 sauce actually popped in my head. Also ordered a side of asparagus and their mushrooms, all yummy! Very nice atmosphere.

I have been to the Kirby’s in Southlake many times and it has always been excellent. The same cannot be said about Wood Fire Kirbys. To start, my father’s lettuce was brown and the«fresh bread» that we waited for was ice cold in the middle. My fiancée and I ordered our steaks medium, my brother ordered a special steak medium rare and my father decided to go with a hamburger medium. When our food arrived my steak was rare. My fiancées was barely rate. My brother’s was rare(or so we thought). And my fathers hamburger was charred on the outside and raw on the inside! My brother was fine with rare steak and my father had just given up all hope. My fiancée and I sent our steaks back to be cooked longer. After a few minutes, the manager on duty came over and apologized and proceeded to tell me at that restaurant the steaks are typically prepared on the rarer side. Now as mentioned before, I have been to the Kirby’s in Southlake multiple times. I have never had an issue with my steak being undercooked. These steaks weren’t off tempurture by a little, they were two tempurture rarer. I’ve never been to a steakhouse where you have to order your steak well done in order to get a medium tempurture. So we get our steaks back and we cut into it and they seem okay. Upon further inspection we saw that they were still very rare in the middle. At this point it was obvious that the grill was definitely too high and was charring the outside but leaving the inside rare. After all this, it turns out my brothers steak was rare on the outside and raw on the inside and had so much fat that it was mostly inedible. His dog got a great meal later that night. We didn’t want to bother with management again and just said everything was fine, got our check and left. I did mention to our waiter that they needed to check their grill. The only saving grace was that the side dishes were good and our waiter was great. Sadly, good service and decent side dishes don’t make up for horrible steak.

Went with a group of about ten. The servers stared a little too much, but they were great otherwise. The food is NOT as good as it costs, but it’s not bad either so take that for what it’s worth. I wasn’t disappointed, but I certainly won’t think to go there first next time I eat out.

Went here for restaurant week and the food was terrible! Ordered the baby back ribs… YUCK! The only thing on the plate that was good was the fries, unfortunately they were the shoestring fries which are not my favorite, but they were decent. My friend ordered the short ribs and they were bland. After we added salt it was better. I also ordered the chocolate spice cup cake for dessert. Not good either! I asked my server for a scoop of vanilla so I could stomach the rest of my cupcake. The ice cream was good but that’s because they probably didn’t make it in house! Save your time and money and go elsewhere!!!

I’m a big fan of a wood fire grill in Addison and people often compare the two so I decided to give it a try. I went for dinner on a Thursday night, and the restaurant seemed a little empty. All the surrounding places were packed on the patios and interiors. No worries, I’d heard good things so I wanted to give it a try. The service was mediocre at best. My drink, the blue something mojito was decent. I ordered the pork chop and it was ok… Nothing to write home about. The food and service was not horrible, but I never have to visit this place again. I so agree with others that it’s over priced. I won’t be back. If you’re looking for an amazing wood fire grill, go to Kenny’s in Addison!

Love this place !!! Great happy hour daily half off drinks from 4:30p — 7p with amazing, personable, fun bartenders! Nice elegant but casual and energetic vibe /environment. Love the fried pickles but the Maryland Crab Cake is too die for !!! It literally melts in your mouth and is full of flavor, a must try! I will warn you it’s a little pricey at $ 23 however it’s worth every penny. It was so good we ordered 2 –_– :-) Super nice and accommodating manager Ashton !! I will definitely be back:-)

This place is awesome! It is the only place to get a great steak in Dallas that is truly worth the price of admission. Come in for the happy hour which is five dollar cocktails seven days a week, stay for the food that always surpasses expectations.

The best ribeye I’ve ever had in my entire life! I crave this all the time now. It has a rub/seasoning that is to die for and has a great smoky flavor. The texture of the meat is perfect and you can tell that the meat is of extremely high quality. Restaurant is a little upscale. It doesn’t open until late, which is a shame because I’d definitely go here for lunch. Also, there is a nice outdoor patio area with a big fire pit, which is perfect for spring or fall.

I was here for my company’s holiday luncheon and I was very pleasantly surprised. I was dreading the valet line since all of the guests would be arriving and leaving at roughly the same time. Somehow the valet drivers managed the line so I didn’t wait more than a couple minutes on either end. The food was fantastic. There was a buffet with lots of different options so we could choose to be healthy or not-so-healthy. There was pizza, sliders, grilled asparagus, shrimp skewers, salad, etc. The desserts were very good too, but the best one was the AMAZING Neiman Marcus Bars. The waitress told us the recipe was a secret. They were so delicious that lots of people at the party took home to-go boxes full of nothing buy these treats. The wait staff was extremely efficient. If you wandered off to another part of the party before your drink arrived, they would still manage to find you. And I was never holding an empty glass. All in all, it was a great party and I would highly recommend having a company party here.

We had our company holiday lunch here yesterday and it was great! I really like the more laid back style to Woodfire’s…I had only been here when it was Kirby’s and thought it was a little stuffy. The service was great — you never had to wait long for anything. The food was great too — they set up a buffet of salads, pizza, sliders, chicken and shrimp. The valet was quite efficient for our group, so no complaints here!
