Great place to see a show. Perfect size, big– but not too big. Definitely still feels intimate! Very friendly staff, nice bathrooms and really easy to get a drink. b

I just found out that Kurt Vile is playing here this April and debated whether to chance it. But I’ve seen many bands here and concluded that Granada’s sound system consistently disappoints. We’ve seen Beach House, Washed Out, Peter Hook & the Light, Chromatics & Glass Candy here. Their levels are always off – never a full, rich sound. Beach House’s bass was so heavy that it was buzzing throughout the theater. Peter Hook’s Joy Division songs have subtle treble along with the bass, and Granada’s system didn’t help at all. Most of the sound was buried in bass, and it was hard to suss out the details. I LOVEBASS, don’t get me wrong. But the music never feels«complete» to me – treble is the detail, and bass should complement it, not overpower it. Too bad that despite others who feel the same, Granada still refuses to change. They make plenty of money from people who are satisfied with the mediocrity of the sound, so why should they? Because it’s a MUSICVENUE and you should have the best possible sound system to serenade us with rich, full-bodied music. Poop on you, Granada. You are dead to me.

Really good venue… Hadn’t been for a few years, but have taken in two shows in the last 7 days; Shakey Graves and Bob Schneider. It’s a «standing» venue which is ok, but I wish the stage hands would lighten up on that friggin’ fog machine… after a couple of hours of it constantly foggin’ it got hard to breath and my eyes were burning like crazy.

I love the Granada. Great music, great venue. But I had a very disappointing experience recently. The opening act for James McMurtry was entirely mismatched. I don’t know what genre you’d call it, but the noise drove me out. Then, the sound mix for McMurtry was The. Worst. Ever. To add insult to injury, the Granada management did not extend even the courtesy of a reply to an email I sent the next day suggesting things they might have done better. No «Sorry» no «Be our guest at an upcoming show» not even«Kiss my ass.» For that customer service failure, I give them this one-star review.

Best and most professional concert venue staff in the city. No doubt. Perfect size for a show — bartenders are friendlier than other venues in deep ellum. All in all it’s a 10⁄10 for this spot.

I’ve been here for multiple shows and an occasional event. Staff is always friendly and efficient. Ticket prices are more than reasonable. There’s also not really a bad seat in the house. «Seat» being figurative as its standing room only for most shows, but the entire general admission area slopes gradually upward so you’re always a little taller than the person in front of you. My favorite thing is a rolling, live Twitter feed that they have running in between acts. It’s usually a pretty entertaining read while you wait!

My favorite concert venue in Dallas. Very up close and personal. Choose your tickets wisely. About half of all seats(including the front row will have your back to the table as watch the performance. Sound is good, restrooms clean, and there are plenty of dining options within walking distance. In/out allowed with bracelet. Smoke on the sidewalk.

Great venue. Been here for a few concerts in the past and always had a blast. They def know it gets hot when there’s a large crowd, so it’s a little chilly at first, but I’m not one to complain. There’s a bar right when you walk in and then some more where the main stage is. There’s an upper and lower deck. The nice thing is that they have sections within the general standing room areas so that it doesn’t get too crowded, you have a place to rest/set stuff down. And it’s all sloped so if you’re a shorty, you can see better! Yay!

One of my favorite concert venues. It’s a old theater so it still has the steps and a walkway, which is great when you’re trying to maneuver through the crowd. It’s next to sundown at the Granada so many times there’s an after party or food specials. They keep you entertained between sets with Twitter and their movie screens. The acoustics are great and I’ve seen so many memorable shows here. Definitely a place to come see a concert if you haven’t already.

Granada is a nice little venue, and I definitely want to catch a show here again. Sis and I were in town to see Best Coast last week, and needless to say, we were impressed. Tickets were will-call for everyone, but they had enough staff on hand to handle getting everyone in, arm-banded, and stamped for those under 21(which was most of the audience for this show!). Beer prices were very reasonable. $ 6 for a PBR is not the best, but by far, not the worst(*cough $ 11 at South Side Ballroom cough*). They did have beer specials too. There are 2 areas in the Granada — the lower floor, which is tiered so that GA isn’t in one big straight line. Be careful around the single steps down, though. I saw a few people trip over them. The balcony also has room, although I’m not sure if it’s standing or has seats since we stayed down on the lower floor. But the tiered approach was fantastic. We were 3 platforms back in the center, which resulted in a fantastic view of the band. I can’t speak for parking, since I opted to Über our way from the hotel. There did appear to be street parking, though. What was really fun was that before the opener(Bully, fwiw) and between the opener and headliner, a screen full of tweets people make to @granadatheater runs. It was entertaining, albeit mostly immature given the young audience, and a fun way to pass the time. Yay, social media! I can’t wait to come again!

Came here for the Amanda Palmer concert and I was so excited to be able to attend. There’s parking behind the Granada but it’s pay to park and CASHONLY. Honestly, it was complete kismet that I had cash on me that night or I have no idea where I would have parked. I’m also glad I listened to my friend about grabbing General Admission and not a table because the GA is right in front of the stage and all the tables are off to the sides. This means that if you pay more for a table, you actually don’t have as great of a view as others! The staff here is organized though and got things moving fast once the doors were opened. The sound was ONPOINT and the inside of the Granada is gorgeous. Huge painted ceiling, and an old fashioned feel. The bars are not the best stocked inside the venue, but right next door is the Sundown at Granada which has amazing food and drinks with good prices if you want to pre-game(which we definitely did). This is a venue I can’t wait to come back to because it was such a positive experience!

We came here on a Friday for a show. We got lucky and was able to nab a street spot about a block away. If you are not so lucky, however, you can park behind the theatre for $ 8. There was a short line to get inside and plenty of people milling about outside. The door person checked ID and those over 21 got a bracelet. Those under 21 get a black X on their hand. There are numerous bars both in the lobby, and inside the venue. The atmosphere was rustic and the seating for this show was mostly GA, with some chairs to the side with little tables. we opted for one of those and it was a good choice. The GA section was packed, but it is tiered so you don’t have to worry about standing behind that really tall guy! The acoustics were great(the artist we saw did 1 song unplugged) and the facilities clean. They put up tweets on the screen before the show and during intermission. All of the staff that we interacted with were courteous and professional. A great experience!

This venue is awesome. The standing area is tiered, so people in the back can see the stage(especially great for short people like me). Also, it never gets too crowded at this venue. Everyone just stands together peacefully and no one is pushing or shoving. They also always bring awesome artists. If you want to get dinner before the show, they have an awesome happy hour next door.

I love this venue. They book awesome bands and artists that put on great shows at very reasonable prices. I was so glad to see a Granada poster at a random restaurant otherwise I wouldn’t have realized the great variety of artists that they had lined up. Even though the venue isn’t that big, I love the set up. Instead of having one big floor, there are several steps that divide the sections going downwards.(Basically there’s an incline from the closest section to the stage up to the back of the room.) People standing in the back are higher elevated without being blocked by the people standing in the front. Because of this, my friends didn’t feel the need to try and wiggle our way to the very front because we had just as great of a view a little farther back. I suppose it also depends on the act, but the concertgoers was respectful of each other and didn’t try to «steal» someone else’s spot if they left to use the restroom or get a drink, which I really appreciate!

Went for the clean bandit concert last night– this venue is cute. I like the walls. There’s this one step that everyone misses while going down to the general area in front of the stage-it’s the first step down. I was standing near that area and saw multiple people trip and fall over that. Might be better if there’s a light there for intoxicated and clumsy guests!

This place is pretty cool as well as the location the theatre is at. We went to see a phish tribute band and they were amazing! I had assumed the interior was going to be a lot bigger but it’s actually pretty small. But good things come in small packages anyways! I love this area of Dallas. It’s so pretty and has a lot to offer. I need to marry rich so I can live in one of those beautiful homes close by the theatre.

I’ve been to the Granada several times in a period of years. I’ve seen System of a Down, 30 seconds to mars even The Mars Volta band. But I’ve never been when they have there watch party’s like The Walking Dead or the Cowboys game. We just stumbled upon it around the 4th quarter when we got kicked it of snuffers. I wish I would have known it was fun and krunk. Beer is cheap and they play music during the commercials. Best part they use 3 huge ass protectors during the game. Worth checking out.

Granada is the absolutely best place to see a show in Dallas. With super friendly staff, an easy ticket check in process, easily accessible bars and great lineups, the Granada offers everything concert goers could possibly want. Located in the heart of the classic Greenville Avenue neighborhood, Granada is truly a Dallas staple!

When I think of metal, The Granada Theater just isn’t the first thing that comes to mind. I went to see Týr one night and had no idea where to park. The venue is in Greenville of all places, not metal at all. We managed to park in the neighborhood behind it, of course crossing our fingers that it would still be there after the show. As we entered, it felt like an old dark movie theater. The concession stand was basically a long bar that offered small bites to eat. Their brisket tacos are actually pretty darn good! I may have had a few drinks, but come on, I thought it was juicy and delicious. Perfect with giggle water. At one end they offer ear plugs as well. It is extremely loud in there, but do you really want to look like a dork with them in? I’ll pretend I didn’t notice them… The entire place smells like a giant fog machine. The restrooms are small but luckily there is no attendant! I can get my own paper towels thank you very much! I thought the dividers in the room were strange. It’s all standing area, but I couldn’t imagine moshing around in between these layers. Then again, when everyone started the wall of death, I was glad I was on the other side! The dividers didn’t inhibit movement at all and I enjoyed the entire show. They also have a projector screen that displays live tweets if you mention the Granada! Social media = hip + cool. If you want to take a break, you can step outside where there are chairs. You might even catch a band member sitting out there if you do ;) Don’t forget your push-up bra!

Went to a Ziggy Marley concert over the weekend and was quite impressed with this venue. The entire process was seamless. We purchased our tickets online the morning of(just in time since it ended up being sold out). When we arrived, we checked in at will call in a matter of minutes and grabbed some drinks before entering. I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly we were served, especially given the crowd. Initially the idea of standing room only made me a bit hesitant(since I happen to be particularly short), but it ended up being perfect. The venue was medium-sized, feeling much like an intimate live show while still allowing space for a full lively audience. I had a great view of Ziggy and did not feel overly cramped in the busy space. I can’t wait to check out come back for future shows. Check out their calendar because there are some good ones lined up for this season!
