Can’t say enough about this place. Can’t believe I’ve only been here 3 times over the last 6 years. It always has good singer song writers at a reasonable ticket price. The convenient location makes it easy to get to all resulting in a bargin evening of entertainment If you haven’t been I recommend you go as soon as possible.

This is a great place to catch many local and national acts. Small venue that served desserts and coffee, along with a great assortment of music.

Uncle Calvin’s is a Dallas institution. Glad I finally got chance to experience it. A crew of longtime volunteers transforms the church’s fellowship hall into an old-school coffeehouse, complete with incandescent lighting, fresh flowers and tablecloths. If you like singer-songwriter music, this might become your home away from home. They offer live music 40 weeks out of the year.

Atmosphere(**** out of *****); This«coffee house» is actually the auditorium of a church. It is very laid back so there is no assigned seating. Be sure to go there early to get a good seat. Drinks & Food(**** out of *****); There are 3 coffee choices(mocha, vanilla, regular) plus a decaf. Basic hot coffees freshly brewed with basic additives available; sugar, splenda, whole milk, and half & half. There are also sweets; cookies, cheesecake, pecan pie, and pumpkin pie. All the sweets were homemade and delish. If you want to risk not getting any dessert, then buying what’s left during the intermission means you’ll get it for half price($ 1 instead of $ 2). Coffee was $ 2 with unlimited refills. Service(**** out of *****); This is not a business. Everyone who’s there are volunteers, so please pick up after yourself. They are NOT your waiters. Conclusion(***** out of *****); This is a great place to see a concert from your favorite folk singer. Just be aware that because this is a church, then whatever songs they will be performing, they’re gonna perform the«cleaned up» version. It’s good fun for the whole family. P. S. Arrive early so you can park in front fo the building in the lighted parking area. The back parking lots are not lit. Also, arriving early has other advantages because it is such a small venue(30 – 40 seats), you can chat with and have your picture taken with your favorite band. How cool is that? Also, when was the last time you went to see a live show and the drinks cost only $ 2 ?! This is hands down the best deal in live music in DFW! They are not 30.06 posted plus they are not 51% posted because they don’t serve alcohol. I never really like places that serve alcohol anyways because of all the drunk guys trying to grope you. For good clean folk music fun for the whole family, be sure to visit Uncle Calvin’s Coffee House ;0)
