So sad. this place closed and unrefined bakery moved in. They do have good bread options though.

I’ve been coming here for a couple years and I’m really sad they’re leaving Texas. It’s their last weekend. Go in and buy up stuff. They’re even selling mixes. Some things will still be able to be ordered from the New York location. Unrefined bakery will be filling the void. Unrefined offers more selections, but what they have in options they lack in taste. Oh well.

A good cheap(er) fix for some tasty GF treats! Service was dry and the staff wasn’t welcoming at all. I’d personally choose Unrefined for the service and quality(though more expensive) But Tu-Lu’s is tasty and gets the job done for cheap

Not the most welcoming cashier and the vegan options were neither tasty nor soft. Probably won’t go back since there weren’t any very redeeming qualities.

The paninis and desserts were absolutely yummy! However, for a first time customer, it would’ve been nice to have had a more receptive welcome… especially after driving 25 miles to visit this place. The lady working the counter acted as if we were bothering her. :(We also didn’t realize it was take-out only… not a dine-in facility.

Best gluten free bakery in Dallas. The selection is limited but the quality is great. Their fresh baked bread is the best GF bread I have had. The staff is very nice and knowledgable. They have a limited lunch menu as well.

OMG!!! I forgot how seriously Amazing this bakery is. Like a million times better than Unrefined Bakery. It’s insane how amazing their food is! The panini’s– oh my Lord! The ham and havarti is my personal fave and the chicken with chipotle mayo is the hubster’s fave. My toddler LOVES the mini cupcakes of course. And the pumpkin loaf– Ohhhh Emmm Geee!!! Holy cow– you guys need a location in Frisco!

The best gluten-free pastry option I have found in Dallas. What’s even greater is the fact that they have a relatively good selection of vegan options as well. I recently purchased a loaf of bread and can say, hands down, it was the best loaf of bread I’ve tasted in a while(gluten-free or not). However some of their options can be limited. For example, I really enjoy their vegan banana bread(it’s actually my favorite); however the banana bread is not always available. Typically if you go late in the evening there may not be a wide variety of baked goods to choose from. If you plan on using a credit card they do require that you spend a minimum of $ 8.00 so walk with cash just in case. I should add that one of the least expensive items on the menu is their cookie which comes in at $ 2.00. This should give you some idea on how much to budget.

Tu-Lu’s Bakery is the answer to my prayers! I have never eaten anything from this bakery that was disappointing — special brownies, mini cupcakes, mini loaves of banana bread, lemon berry cheesecake, donuts, loaves of bread, and quiche have all been amazing! To be fair, the cookies are good not great, but that’s the most criticism I can muster. I go out of my way to visit Tu-Lu’s because I know the drive is worth it… whatever they have in their display case will taste great and make me happy.

I pretty much have liked everything I have tried here. I’m still scared to try the bread, great of not liking it & being disappointed. Very friendly staff. The bakers arriving that morning were all so happy– added plus!

This bakery is the utmost horrific and disappointing bakery I have ever been to!!! Let me just put it this way… I will NEVER go back to a Tulus bakery ever! To begin, we ordered my wedding cake(wedding day was July 12,2014) from Tulus(obviously, I have a gluten allergy)… I was quite excited that all of the wedding guests would be able to enjoy gluten free cake with me and I was sincerely looking forward to everyone having cake! We paid for the cake and the bakery said that the cake I wanted would not be an issue and told me not to worry about anything and that they were ecstatic about making my wedding cake… Wedding day rolls around… 20 min before my wedding begins… No cake… My mom calls them three times… no answer… We finally get a hold of someone and the baker informs us that they are running late and that they would be there shortly… I was relieved and the wedding began… I walked down the isle and thought not to worry because a bakery of «such clout» would not go back on their word… The Ceremony ends and my wedding party is taking pictures and the guests are in the foyer… STILLNOCAKE!!! My wedding coordinator calls Tulus and asks again where the cake is and we finally got the truth from the baker who explained that the cake had fallen over on the way to the reception and there would be no cake… I obviously was losing my mind because I did not know what I was going to feed the 250+ people who came to the cake reception!!! Guests included family, friends, business partners, potential business connections, and individuals who flew from all over the world to be at our wedding… which seemed to not even be an issue to the baker… My wedding coordinator then proceeds to tell the baker that they will bring a replacement no matter what … The baker finally showed up with SHEETCAKE from what looked to be from walmart!!! I was in tears!!! I thought that a replacement cake would have been something that would look even remotely like a wedding cake but no… It was SHEETCAKE!!! Wedding guests commented left and right and questioned where the cake was– obviously this was horrifically embarrassing for me to answer that the bakery did not come through in delivering it and then even more of an embarrassment when they walked in with sheet cake!!! I am still irate about this incident!!! Tulus bakery ruined the best day of my life after we spent well over $ 1,400 and trusted a bakery who lied to us on my wedding day! I would NEVER recommend this bakery to anyone!!! They ruined so many memories, my wedding day, as well as took away a special part of my wedding — I had dreamed of having that style cake that they did not deliver since I was in high school… Again, this is a bakery I would NEVER recommend to anyone and would highly recommend never using this bakery for an event!

Pumpkin loaf was delicious. However, the Ham & Havarti panini: «meh». Pretty over-priced for a small, lukewarm sandwich with spicy mustard. The second sandwich I ordered didn’t even have any mustard. Just a little ham on GF bread. And the«salad» was just a handful of mixed greens, which I had to go back in and ask for since the clerk forgot them. Store wasn’t at all busy, so not sure why the lackluster customer service and execution. I may try again, but not really rushing back.

I like Tu-Lu’s. The vanilla cupcakes with chocolate ganache were a huge hit for my father-in-law’s birthday. Even the non-GF peeps enjoyed them. I also love their blueberry muffins, but cannot attest to their consistency. The first four or five times I purchased them, they were delicious. On one occasion, I am fairly certain they served me a day-old muffin. I purchased it at 9:00, right after they opened, but the muffin was very cold and the top was slightly sticky. The dry texture, sticky top and chilly temperature of the muffin were good indicators that it had been refrigerated. I am fine with purchasing a day-old, refrigerated muffin, but would prefer it to be labeled as such and would rather not pay full price. My other beef with Tu-Lu’s is their hours of operation. For an establishment that sells a variety of donuts, breakfast breads and muffins, 9:00 a.m. seems late to open. I am unable to drop in on my way to work or after dropping off my kids at school. I would stop in multiple times a week if they were actually open when I was in the neighborhood. In sum, the treats are tasty and it is great to have a gluten-free bakery nearby.

The pumpkin cakeball was delicious but the vanilla chocolate cupcake was so dry. My friend had the red velvet which was also dry although the cream cheese icing was delicious. You’re better off finding treats at Unrefined Bakery where everything is organic and taste good. This place sucks.

I am gluten free because of an illness I’m battling, so hopefully it is temporary, as it is tough to find sweet treats in Fort Worth. I happened to be in Dallas so to Tu-Lu’s I went. They were incredibly kind, knowledgeable and did not judge me for ordering ALLOFTHETHINGSFORMYMOUTH. I got a lot of things. While it is expensive, there is no way I could make anything this delicious of gluten free variety. Everything I’ve made has been terrible but I’ve forced myself to eat it anyways. BLACKBEANBROWNIES? GROSS I MEANYAYBROWNIES. Anyways. All of the sweet treats I got from here were fantastic. I ate them all within 36 hours. Get choo some Tu Lu’s.

I have NEVER had gluten-free baked goods this good! I purchased a loaf of bread, a chocolate brownie and a chocolate chip cookie. The bread was dense, chewy and had that home made feel in your mouth that puts a smile on your face. The chocolate brownie and chocolate chip cookie would rate among my all time favorites even if they weren’t gluten free. Amazing! Everything was pricey but, in this case, you will get what you pay for. Yum!

Brining Gluten-Free treats to Uptown! Tu-Lu’s has taken over where the former Orange Cup was located in West Village. I was hesitant about the idea of a gluten-free bakery coming to this uppity part of Dallas but have been pleasantly surprised each time I’ve gone in. There are a few other gluten-free bakeries around town and their items are just OK but nothing that I would go to without dietary needs. Tu-Lu’s has changed my opinion of the way gluten-free bakery items should taste. When you walk in you are greeted with bright pastel walls and several delicious looking treats behind a glass wall. I had heard that the pumpkin loaf was to die for so I obviously had to try that. It didn’t disappoint, thats for sure! A decent sized slice of moist pumpkin cake is topped with vanilla frosting and pepitas for an added crunch. I have also tried their cupcakes which are fine but nothing I would crave with so many other cupcake stores in the area. With that said, I appreciate that they have more cupcake flavors than just Red Velvet like Sprinkles GFree cupcake is. Tu-Lu’s also has light lunch items including paninis and slices of quiche. The quiche, although delicious, are really rather small for the price(over $ 5 a slice). If you love quiche as much as I do though, you will be happy with the taste of theirs. The paninis are paired with a small side salad and are good as well. The bread they use is a little too thick and dry but, if you are checking out Tu-Lu’s because you don’t eat gluten you won’t disappointed with it. All in all, I am pleasantly surprised with Tu-Lu’s and believe they have changed the sour-taste(pun intended) that most gluten free dedicated bakeries have left in customers mouths. I am still confused about the choice to put it in West Village but I don’t mind… a little pumpkin loaf while you shop never hurt anybody!

3.5 stars for now. You know a GF bakery has got its recipes down when their gluten-free, dairy-free donuts taste better than the Krispy Kreme variety. We were very impressed by the fluffy, not-too-greasy ring of sweetness. Unfortunately, the coffee they made(an espresso shot diluted with hot water) isn’t exactly a fitting complement to the donut. The mixed berry muffin with lemon glaze was also disappointing despite its yummy apperance: it was dense & flavourless … maybe just stale because it was from a pre-Thanksgiving batch? Anyway, I’ll let that one go because the last item we got, a slice of pumpkin pie, tasted just like good homemade pie. Very impressive, considering it’s also dairy-free and milk is one of the key ingredients in regular pies. The cashier today seemed new and not very knowledgeable. We wish one of the staff in the back had walked us through this first visit of ours. But we’ll come again, if only for the donuts!

I went here with a coworker mainly just to step out of the office for a break at lunch. she had to run an errand which happened to be attempting to buy cupcakes for her pal’s bday who has a 100% free gluten diet. When we arrived the cupcakes were all boxed up with a variety of flavors and we were ready to go. I was hesitant on whether I should write a review but while there we got a peanut butter toffee blondie and it was amazing. There was quite the variety to choose from, from cupcakes to quiche to(of course) brownies. Even if not in the market for gluten free I would recommend Tu-Lu’s if in the area, pretty good stuff.

I went to Tu-Lu’s when looking for gluten-free cupcakes for my friend’s birthday. Tu-Lu’s is 100% gluten-free so there is no chance of cross-contamination! It is located in a shopping center with a small private lot. I ordered a dozen mini cupcakes in a variety of flavors(vanilla, chocolate, lemon, red velvet, cookie dough [flavor of the week]). I called ahead to make sure that they had some and the employees were super sweet about reserving a tray for me to pick up. When I arrived, I was only planning to pick up my reserved cupcakes… until I saw the pastry case! Everything looked delicious — full-sized cupcakes, cookies, brownies, even quiche! I ordered a peanut butter toffee blondie and it was one of the most delicious treats I have ever tasted — gluten-free or otherwise! A group of friends shared the mini cupcakes that evening and everyone had only great things to say! I am glad to have found Tu-Lu’s Bakery!
