This review is by an African American used to American based Mexican restaurants like Tachito’s on Illinois ave, Taco Cabana, Taco Bell. I left MVC in a very hungry mood for a heavy Mexican food. So I speak to my GPS cellphone and ended up here because of 1 review rated 5 stars. The time is 5 pm and the place is empty except for me and 1 or 2. The menu is kind of confusing and mostly in Spanish. I ordered 2 beef enchilada and 2 tamales with rice and beans to go. I see the lady in the back putting something in a microwave. I tell the cashier who was sitting with another girl at a table that I want fresh food. She doesn’t understand. Well we got old tasting beef enchiladas(we got it to go, bad mistake). We got tamales wrapped in foul smelling black green leaves. The tamales were mushy and tasted real weird like blubber jelly grits. It fell out of the wrapper in the to go container like Jello mush. Couldn’t find much meat inside as it fell apart like a pot of grits. We ended up throwing 70% of it away. Good bye $ 15.98. Can’t trust all the reviews on Unilocal. Some authentic stuff taste like animal food and cultures are used to this. Also never saw a Spanish woman in back of Mexican establishment trying to cook Anyhow, never again. Got a headache now.
