Very rustic and authentic delicious tacos with a twist! This menu is crazy concoctions of tacos, however they are genuine Mexican tacos! I have only had octopus in sushi, but they are fantastic in tacos! Not sure what they do to it? Barbacoa is soooo good too :)! Everything here is made with a little extra TLC. For instance the onions are sweet because they stew them in an agave marinade. There are 3 kinds of salsa on your table, instead of them giving you a little puny side. Not to mention if you have a fire tooth, they will special serve you the habanero salsa! Great little patio with a fountain really makes you feel like you are on holiday in Mexico! Paired with the authentic menu, it’s a perfect taco spot! Yum, can’t wait to go back!

Tasty fresh tacos! They have both traditional street flavors like barbacoa and cool«funky» like pesto shrimp. We tried those and pollo pastor and carnitas… delicious! Nicest owner and staff in the world. Much of the décor is put together by local community. Nice patio too… In July they will have margaritas… we will be back!

Authentic Mexican street tacos but also so much more. Of course the requisite Mexican Coke in glass bottles, of course killer elotes, but the kicker is their gourmet tacos and the mole fries. Check out their salsa and go for the heat. Awesome patio, easy parking, super friendly. Just show up early if you go on Sunday, they close at 4 that day.

Please eat here!!! The tacos are WONDERFUL. Mahi mahi tacos are fresh and dressed perfect with pickled onions and orange. The owner is friendly and knowledgeable as he bases his recipes around his food experiences from his hometown of Los Cabos. Also has a lovely side patio, authentic to those in Cabo, to have a taco and a drink!

Oh My gosh! I’m Mexican so I know tacos! And these tacos are so good!!! We had one of each kind and they were all delicious!!! They’re not the typical street tacos … They’re street tacos with a kick! And they’re delicious!!! Also, their Cucumber Lemonade is so good. It has the perfect amount of sweetness yet fresh enough to quench your thirst! Totally recommend to everyone! I know I’ll be going back very soon!

I had the Mole Fries, Roasted Poblano Queso, Campechano & the Azteca. The Mole Fries were delicious, you could tell it wasn’t just some mole out of a can. Definitely worth getting. The Roasted Poblano Queso was just textbook queso, nothing special there. The Campechano was the best thing I had. Squid, shrimp, carne asada, and sliced avocado all on one tortilla? This taco was to die for, I loved it. If the Campechano was 1A, than the Azteca was 1B. Delicious roasted mushrooms on corn tortillas. They had some homemade sauces that were delicious, a really great accompaniment to both of the tacos. Also, the atmosphere was great, and the chef was at the front door greeting everyone and making recommendations. It was a really nice touch. Would recommend to anyone. Don’t be turned away by the less than stellar outer appearance and parking lot, this place is a food lover’s paradise.

The atmosphere is awesome. The Mexican lottery numbers they give you are awesome. The paint and graffiti and patio are awesome. The owner was awesome. The food was pretty good – awesome only at a lower price, but at more than $ 4 per taco, it’s just pretty good. I wanted to like this place a lot more than I really did. I had the camarones con pesto and the smoked salmon tacos. My friend ordered the octopus. We also had chips and salsa and mole fries(both recommended). The food was all top-notch, although the tacos were a little under salted … something I didn’t realize until half-way through. I liked them a lot more after I added salt. We felt that the side orders were a better value for our money. It’s hard to justify paying almost $ 5 for a single taco, even if it is fresh seafood. It was good, just not a place I can frequent often. Still, it deserves four stars, and is a great addition to West Dallas. I’ll definitely be back to try a few more things.

The barbacoa is great, and the Azteca was a very nice surprise. I’m not sure if they bottle the mango ginger habanero sauce, but I hope they do/will!

Awesome spot. Inside is nice but the patio is even better. A little on the pricey side but the special tacos are worth it. Would even be better if they had rice and beans combo with tacos Update. They now have a California burrito(fries inside the burrito)

Yummy tacos & fresh ingredients! This place has great service and authentic Mexican tacos. We especially like the pulpo. We are glad this spot opened up in our neighborhood– and that its light and refreshing! My husband and I can now enjoy Mexican food for lunch that won’t spoil the rest of our afternoon by leaving us in a food coma!

You will enjoy this place if you take care to manage your expectations. These are not hole-in-the-wall street tacos. They are definitely gourmet tacos, made with care and high quality ingredients. The food is priced accordingly, and worth it. In fact, if this place was in Trinity Groves proper, my guess is the tacos would probably be twice as much. So be grateful it’s a little bit off the beaten path! In my book, any place that flies in huitlacoche FRESH from Mexico on a regular basis gets 5 stars from me. Huitlacoche = corn ‘truffle’ as the menu delicately puts it. It’s a fungus that grows on corncobs and is a delicacy in Mexico. It basically tastes like really delicious corn-flavored mushrooms. I came across Tacos Mariachi because I had a hankering for huitlacoche-anything after a recent trip to Mexico. And boy, did Tacos Mariachi fulfill that craving with its awesome Azteca taco(huitlacoche and mushrooms). I definitely echo the recommendations for the smoked salmon taco, and the campechano. But honestly, I don’t think you can go wrong. My only suggestion for improvement — I wish the mole fries had just a little more mole sauce. Otherwise, I loved this place and would be back sooner if it wasn’t so far away from me! Definitely among my top 3 taco places in Dallas!

obviously the taste is always everything but now days service is everything. For starters the place is cozy its well lit inside and its simple meaning its not over the top fancy and although it has an urban touch desing wise it still has an authentic Tijuana design. The owner is friendly has excellent people skills and definitely pays attention to detail both in the presentation of the food but also in catering to what one likes. iIf its your first time he will definitely ask what you like taste wise, what he recommends and the serving portion. The food! We had the chips with Guacamole, Salsa, and Queso Poblano. The cheese was delicious full of flavor with a mild touch. The tacos fall under Gourmet, Funky and Tradicional. Try the Funky and Gourmet I specifically had *the Campechano *the Smoked Salmon *Mazateno All incorporate seafood and are rich in flavor. My favorite was he Smoked Salmon which I recommend to all. The tortillas are handmade, the salmon is smoked just the perfect amount and it is rich in flavor and the melted cheese on top makes every bite worth it. The tacos are definitely worth trying for many its a new taste but among the options youll find one you like. I wouldnt say many cons are present but personally for me the only thing I would do different is add more drink selections like Jarritos in differnt flavors. Personally when I eat tacos they are always paired with a Jarritos. They do have Fresh Lemonade which was tasty. Another thing the tacos are just that Tacos they dont come in a plate format meaning no sides perhaps maybe making plates should be an option. Something like two tacos and rice, beans, or even soup. overall great place try it out!

These are some pretty legit Mexican Tacos. Kinda reminds me of Tacos from Mexico City almost like Gourmet style Tacos, very clean very fresh ingredients. My recommendation the Pollo Asada you rarely see pollo Asada you see more Carne Asada but not pollo. Its extremely good I order two. And my other recommendations is the Lengua it’s real clean not fatty. The Funky Tacos are good but he said they change from time to time. My next recommendation is the Cucumber Limonada it’s amazing. I saw another review that said this was more Tex-Mex than Mexican but It sounds like he’s never been to real Mexico he’s confusing border town Tacos like street Tacos from gourmet Chilango style from Mexico City. Great customer service keep up the good work.

First of all, if you are going to eat here then you should be eating their specialty tacos(listed under«Funky» or «Gourmet»). These tacos are what separates this place from a typical taqueria. I had 3 of the«funky» tacos: the pulpo(octopus), the azteca(mushrooms, corn truffle), and the norteno(beef). These tacos were all good but the pulpo in particular was very tasty. There are a couple shrimp tacos on the menu and a lobster taco on the menu that are probably worth checking out but unfortunately I have an allergy which prevents me from trying those. I also had a carne asada taco which was very ho-hum typical of what I would find at any taqueria. The main issue I have with this place is that you’re not really getting a filling meal, at least not at a price point you would want to pay at a tacqueria. Most of the specialty tacos are priced at $ 4.25 or $ 4.75 per taco(the Langosta aka lobster taco is $ 5.25). I understand that these tacos have to be priced higher than normal tacos due to their ingredients. However, consider that I ate 4 tacos and without ordering a drink or sides spent $ 16.and was still a bit hungry. One could argue that because the meal wasn’t very filling I spent more money, which is true. However, the problem with this is that people aren’t likely to become repeat customers if they aren’t filling their bellies at around $ 10/meal. I think this can be accomplished if they offered some sort of meal deal which combines tacos and low cost sides to make a filling meal. For instance I propose $ 10 could get you 2 tacos plus rice and beans(or chips, or another side). Rice and beans weren’t on the menu but they are very cheap to produce. This would cut their margins some but I think they would more than make up for it with repeat customers. I’d love to see this place make it but I have a hard time believing many people will be going here at those price points prior to the apartments being completed nearby. Once those high end apartments are finished it could be a whole new ball game. Until then, they are still in a historically economically depressed area where people are used to spending less for tacos. Another thing I want to quickly touch on is the parking behind the building. It feels a bit sketchy/unsafe back there. The parking is lit but I’d recommend lighting it up some more because I could see people not really wanting to park there at night. The service here was impeccable. The owner Jesus Carmona is super friendly and really goes out of his way to make sure the customers are taken care of. I have nothing but good things to say about the staff. BTW, a previous reviewer stated that this felt like Tex-Mex and I’m not sure what he meant by that. The food is most certainly not Tex-Mex. This place is «fast casual» and as such the food quality and price points are higher than what one would find in a local taqueria. However, I wouldn’t question the authenticity of the food unless you have extensive knowledge of the taco scene in Tijuana Mexico which was the inspiration for this menu. Based on what I’ve read, both the chef and the owner are from Mexico. Disclaimer: It should be noted that I am a big eater. The price points are probably ok for women with small tummies but for most guys this is not filling.
