Excellent salsa. Great service. Food was very fresh. There’s a new name, Taco Cina, but it’s the same place.

I work across the street and tried it for the first time today. The parking lot made it look super busy, but only a few people were inside. I was greeted by the owner/manager and ordered one of the lunch specials. I sat down and not 5 minutes after, I had a drink and chips/salsa. A minute or two after that my food was ready to go. The owner was very personable and made a point to tell me how fresh everything was. You really could tell from the quality of food and flavor that he wasn’t lying. The chicken tacos were wonderful and the salsa was obviously just made. I was at first disappointed with the portion size, but after the chips and sides, it was the perfect amount. For what you pay, and how fast the service is, make a trip over here. I will warn you, this is a laid back place, which I loved. It’s basically an enclosed patio, which I loved, but it made me wish the while thing were opened up. Bottom line: fabulous lunch place, fresh, fast, but not for the snooty eater.

My husband and I love this place! They recently have added some new menu items and they also do catering. Every time we come in here, we are greeted warmly and the service is always very prompt. The salsa is my favorite. Fish tacos are pretty good here too. My husband always gets the chicken burrito and loves it. The enclosed patio is very warm and inviting. Definitely give this place a try!

I had a chicken taco today, and it was delicious! Chips and salsa are really good. Also, I’ve tried their vegetable tortilla soup, and it was so good! Not sure if they have this every day. Cute lil’ place, fresh food, nice staff!

So after finding my favorite taco shop in the area closed for a second time, I decided to try Taco Taco having driven past it a few times. I dig the location. Divey little taco shops are a good thing, and the enclosed patio style reminded me of some of the ones just off the beach in Venice, Ca. The chips and salsa here are fantastic. The salsa is less a hot sauce style like you get at most taco shops, and more a restaurant style pico. But its good and garlicky, and pretty cheap. I may just drop in here to buy salsa from now on. In addition to chips and salsa I got a beef taco and a shredded beef burrito. The beef taco was pretty good, shells fried in house, good flavor to the ground beef. The shredded beef burrito was disappointing and underwhelming. Kinda plain, had queso on it instead of(or maybe in addition to, hard to tell) shredded cheese. I really wanted to like it, since good shredded beef if amazing, but this wasn’t it. Prices seemed like they were a bit high… a taco, a burrito, and chips and salsa was over 12 bucks… and I didn’t get a drink since it was a to-go order. Overall its a decent shop, but there’s better nearby. I’ll go back– usually when the other shops are closed. I’m hoping to find something amazing on their limited menu.

I was supposed to be going into the My Fit Foods to get some meals, but the aroma of the restaurant next door overpowered My Fit. I had to venture out to this place to test it out. I have a weakness for Mexican food, so I wanted to see what this place was all about. It’s fairly new, and it’s a really small hole in the wall taco joint. We walked in before it was officially open that day, and the manager didn’t turn away our service. He offered to serve what he had ready to cook. The tacos are $ 2.49 a taco, and they are 6 inches wide. We both ordered spicy talapia tacos and the beef tacos on corn tortilla. It came out fresh and full of flavor. What I like about this place is they don’t cook everything all at once, everything is made as your order, that’s the service I like. The homemade salsa could use a little bit of spice to it, but overall, my experience here was good. The chips are also HOMEMADE! The manager was very attentive and checked on us a few times. He told us to come back at night with a group of people, and that he would take care of us. It’s also BYOB at night.

Reasonale taco but not like Mexico City style. The guy who runs it could not be nicer. Flour torts aren’t really my bag. I like double corn with minced cilantro and onion, and like green sauce which apparently they do not do. OK beans, rice ok. They had some type of tomatoe salsa that was not spicy enough for me. Grilled japs or serano’s would be something he should consider. I would give it 2.5 stars and worth a trip to see if this style taco suits your style. I’m not going there for the ambiance so that is meaningless to me. Want ambiance? Think French Room, not taco’s.

A friend of mine told me to try this place. I don’t think it’s been open very long. I went around 11:15am for lunch and it wasn’t busy at all. I thought my meal was good and I’d be willing to come back again. Taco Taco is a small restaurant located in a shopping center near Preston & Royal. You order at the counter and then someone brings you the food. They offer a variety of items such as tacos, burritos and plate combinations. The tacos run $ 2.49 for a 6-inch tortilla taco. They don’t offer as many different types as some other taco shops, but what I had was good. I decided on the Taco Taco Sampler which included 3 tacos(fish, chicken and ground beef), chips & salsa, beans and rice. Chips & Salsa — I thought the salsa was tasty and fresh. The chips were crispy and not oily. They seemed to be made in-house. Fish Taco & Chicken Taco — Both very tasty and flavorful. Decent amount of meat. I’d recommend these two. Both were served on a flour tortilla. Beef Taco — This was served on a crispy taco shell. The shell also seemed to be made in-house. My issue with this one was that the shell itself seemed to be a bit overcooked. I’d probably stick with soft tacos in the future. Beans & Rice — Standard side items for a Mexican restaurant. I had to add a little salt. It happens. The person working the counter was friendly. He offered a sample of their bean soup which was nice.

Wife, daughter and I ate here on the 5th. Tried the taco sampler, ground beef burrito and guacamole. The enclosed porch is a little seedy and the overall atmosphere leaves something to be desired. The burrito was large and tasted ok but needed more beef and less of the other. The fish taco’s were not that good. Fried was the only option, couldn’t tell the type of fish, and it was placed only in a bed of cabbage — no sauce. Guacamole was ok — needed citrus, salt and some fresh jalapeño to be anything more than ordinary. Service was extremely friendly. I wonder at what makes someone place a 5 Star review on this place. If there are more than four or five 5-star restaurants in the entire city I would be extremely surprised.

One may wonder why all 3 or 4 restaurants that leased this space over the last 4 years have failed. Well, If you have been inside the restaurant, you will realize that it is essentially a patio that has been enclosed. The floor is uneven, many windows are plexiglass, and there is a tree growing thru the roof. This environment may work in some neighborhoods, but preston hollow is a tough crowd to satisfy. Taco Taco seems to be offering a quick casual concept, meaning you order up front and they bring you out the meal. I imagine they count on a lot of take out business to survive(as the one night i was there there were only my wife and I, and another family arrived near the tail end of our meal.) That being said, I didnt see anyone pick up or order takeout. Now to the food. Im still confused on what this place is. I would best describe it as an expensiveTaqueria, with better/fresher ingredients. At about $ 2.50 per taco, I expect a reasonablly sized taco. One of the 2 I had was, and the other was not at all. The shredded beef taco i had was OK, a little chewy. The fish taco was really disappointing as a) there was virtually no fish and b) it had no flavor(or any sign of the sauce they said would be on it). Salsa was quite good, beans good, rice so-so. You will eat it all with plastic-ware.

Stopped here because we wanted to try the new taco place and we will be back! Pros: — Great shredded beef tacos — Great fish tacos — Great salsa Cons: — They aren’t open for breakfast! — Menu could have more options: carne asada, carne guisada, etc.
