Never again will I return here. Came here forlunch & everything was terrible. We should have taken the vibe into account. Entering you’ll see this place is extremely unhygienic. They sat us down on a dirty rusty table and even after wiping it on front of us, the table was sticky and gross. Everything was ridiculous. The series of events that were unleashed after that was down hill from there & the manager was no help. For starters, the chips in this place were stale. We asked for a new batch and again the chips were stale. We gave up on the chips and proceeded with our orders. I ordered the beef tacos and so did my husband. When I took the first bite, the meat tasted sour. Like it had gone bad and someone cooked it anyway and served it. My husband also noticed the same thing before I said anything, and he’s usually pretty tolerant, but he could not continue with this gruesome meal. The waitress took the orders back to have it re-made. It tasted exactly the same. I spoke to the manager about this & she seemed not to really care, in fact, she seriously didn’t want to hear us and insisted she would not refund us for the utterly crappy meal. We did not even eat because of how bad it was. She forced us to pay regardless, because they said they«fixed» it, I insisted that she double check the meat but she refused. My husband was tired of sitting there arguing while hungry and paid with an empty stomach. We will never return here! The place is disgusting and the service was pathetic. Never again.

As a regular, I recently decided to try breakfast with an out of town guest from Chicago who wanted a Mexican breakfast. Having not ever been for breakfast, she agreed to try. We were pleasantly surprised that the food portions were perfect and as delicious as lunch and dinner. My guest had chorizo tacos and I had migas. Both came with beans and tortillas. I now have a new breakfast place.

I’ve been to just about every Taco Diner in Dallas and unfortunately, this is the most disappointing. The staff is extremely friendly but the food is off!(Never fresh, over cooked meats and stale chips/tortillas). I’m surprised because the Taco Diner by my office in Frisco is consistently good. Disappointed bc this location is closer to my house but I won’t be back until they work on the food!

Service was painfully slow. Our waitress was Susanna. It took forever for us to be greeted, and when she was finally there, she had an attitude like she didn’t want to even be at our table. There was a total of four tables in the restaurant, and we STILL had to flag down another server for refills on drinks. Our food arrived cold, so when we asked a gentleman for our check, he said he’d grab her to bring it to our table. TWENTYMINUTES go by, still NO check. NO server. NO manager. We just left money to cover our bill on the table and left. Will not be coming back to this location.

I’ve ate at the Fort Worth location in Sundance square once and loved this. This one is smaller and wasn’t as tidy as the Fort Worth one. I’m giving this place 3 stars due to it being kinda dirty and service was below average. I kinda expect a lot from this area of Dallas. Ordered the slow cooked brisket and jalapeño corn bread and this dish is amazing! Brisket was tender and juicy but the cornbread was the best! I like cornbread this one was probably one of the best I’ve had. Sweet with a hint of spice.

I have nothing bad to say about the food, it was very food. Service was just fine. But it’s very over priced. I saw a little table card for a mango margarita. I ordered one, and got about maybe 8 oz of margarita. Okay, a little small. But it was good. And it was good. So I ordered another. Then the check came… they were $ 10 each! They weren’t THAT good. Fine, my fault for not asking the price on the first hand. But too much for such a small amount. I also paid $ 10 for 3 enchiladas, rice, and beans. That was fair. All in all, I won’t come out of my way to come back.

Pretty disappointed. I normally like Taco Diners. But my experience at this location was not as good as the others. My tacos were average, at best. They came to my table barley warm, really kinda of cool boarder lining on cold. And the service was really bad. Hardly saw my waiter, except of course when it was time to pay the bill. Which was surprising b/c it seemed like different managers were making their way around checking on everyone. Maybe it was just me??? Now, I will say they were pretty busy this afternoon. So maybe I just had a bad experience?

This is a great place with a variety of really good food served fast. The food is inexpensively priced and plentiful. I ordered the steak fajita nachos and it came with slices of avocado large slices of avocado and sour cream and lots and lots of meat. The Midas was tasty and the ingredients really taste fresh. Service was quick and friendly. Well worth a visit.

Overall, we had a good experience catering from here for a party! Kevin, the manager, was super helpful and everything in the order was right! Loved the food! However, we were left with a sour taste in our mouth due to the fact that one of the ladies working there guilted my husband into giving her a tip on our to go order! He ended up tipping her(which was a lot because it was a large bill) because she put him in such an awkward situation but it was definitely uncalled for and not professional! Very disappointing…

I’m going to go out there and say that Taco Diner does the best salsa of all the Mexican and Tex-Mex restaurants I frequent — and there’s many of those. It’s not an exaggeration that I could get full off their chips and salsa and take my meal home for later. I have always had good service at Taco Diner… maybe even too good. My last trip in, our waitress(and the manager himself) came by to check in and refill so often it was a little overwhelming! Everything is portioned out well and the prices are good for the quality of food you’re receiving. There are a variety of offerings on the menu, although I have never strayed away from the more traditional dishes(i.e. tacos y fajitas!). If you want a good Mexican/Tex-Mex dinner that doesn’t leave you feeling greasy, Taco Diner is your place.

Mmmm… I love this place! I’ve only been here a couple of times for breakfast, but the food was delicious both times. Today I had the Chilaquiles, and they were amazing. The portions are on the smaller size, but it’s enough to make me feel content. The waitstaff have always been great and attentive.

Nice atmosphere. Guac was solid. Got their version of a Cobb salad. It was tasty but not fantastic. Smaller portion than I was expecting and super heavy on the dressing. Service was great and the staff was attentive. I’d go again — but not an experience to rave about.

This place was great! From the dipping sauces they bring with the tortilla chips(a spicy red sauce and a light green one that reminded me of guacamole with lemon) to the main course, I was very satisfied. The menu was a single page! Love it! Don’t you hate going to a Mexican restaurant and they have a huge menu with like eight(8) pages and two hundred fifty-six(256) possible combinations of items that makes it almost impossible to decide what you want to try? I flipped the menu over and there’s nothing there but their logo and some text. Keeping it simple. I had the Tacos Campeones, which consisted of some fat chunks of steak cooked pretty rare on several small soft corn tortillas. I tried eating one by hand at first then opted for the fork and knife treatment so I wouldn’t make a complete mess. The steak was VERY juicy and tender. There was rice, guacamole and pico on the plate as well. It was all very good. A separate little bowl of black beans mashed like potatoes came with it. That was an interesting little side that was very delicious. I had a Taco Diner Frozen Margarita with the meal. Salt on the glass, of course. It was great. Again, the sauces for chip dipping deserve a special mention. They really are unique. I had to ask for a refill of both, because I believe tortilla chips exist simply to be used as great shovels for consuming salsa. You will go through that stuff! I will be visiting this place in the future to try some other dishes. Again, the simple menu presents the available choices very well and makes me want to try everything at least once. I was in a bit of a hurry and didn’t get to try a dessert, so next time I will have to remedy that situation. As usual, I’m not sure what the deal is with some of these reviews with 1 star. Maybe they got up on the wrong side of the bed or something. Charming little modern diner atmosphere. No TVs on the walls! Check it out. You won’t be disappointed, unless you’re one of those people seeking to be disappointed everywhere you go.

In a city where, just like churches and banks, one can find a Mexican food restaurant on every corner — I’ll go mark Taco Diner off my «go to’s» after tonight’s visit. From the drinks, to the product knowledge of the staff, food timeliness and quality… Nothing good can be said. Last 3 reasons: 1. The manager was on her cell phone for a good majority of the 2 hours we sat through service, 2. She later claimed it was with her store manager she was texting, and 3. This all while asking her kindly to remove a drink served w/a bug at the bottom of a full glass of ice and margarita. Issue???

Worst drinks and food ever I won’t blame the server She Did as good as any server could have The drinks were seriously inconsistent & The bartender didn’t even know the beer list We watched as half of our order sat for 25 minutes getting cold as the cooks cleaned up instead of preparing our meal even though they didn’t close for over an hour. The food took SOLONG that we canceled the BDAY desert and to go orders And the manager was on her cell phone all night so when she came at the end to check the table it was way too little too late Ruined the night This place used to be good Now it’s a glorified Mexican McDonald’s

Billed as a «Mexico City Diner» I decided to give this place a try. I greeted warmly by the hostess and given a choice of seat selection. I decided to sit at the bar. As I approached the bar, the Cashier/Asst. Manager and one of the servers look at me start laughing and walk away and pretend to be busy. What a warm welcome. The saving grace was Jonathan my server. He had a through knowledge of the menu and provided stellar service. You get a sweet and smoky salsa and mild green sauce. I tried the Queso with Brisket. It was tasty Then I had Felipe’s Cheesesteak Taco. Served with a side of Onions, Cilantro, and green chiles. It was a hit.

Solid option for classic Tex-Mex. This location’s crowd is definitely different from the crowd that frequents Taco Diner in uptown/West Village. At this location, it’s mostly families post-soccer practice, while uptown is more of a 20– and 30-something crowd. The taco soup, tacos, and salads are all solid options, and if you’re up for a drink, the mambo taxi is a must or a mambo limousine if you’re REALLY up for a drink – it’s a margarita with sangria.
