Wow! I absolutely LOVE this salon and how great my hair turned out. Arci was absolutely AMAZING. She did a great job coloring and cutting my hair! I will most definitely be going back to her… I have gotten so many compliments on how great my color is and how healthy my hair now looks. You can schedule an appointment with her by calling her cell phone at 214−529−1988. I can’t imagine anyone else doing my hair! Arci was GREAT!

I visited my daughter in Dallas, planning to stay 5 days and ending up remaining a month. I needed to have my hair done and I have a lot of conditions that need to be considered such as allergies and such. Marty took the time to research all of my issues and come up with a plan that would work for me. My hair color is absolutely beautiful and shiny and so so soft. Since returning to CA I have received beyond compliments, even complete strangers coming up to me and telling me I have the most beautiful hair they have ever seen. THANK YOU MARTY I will be planning my visits to see my daughter around when I need my hair done! The bonus — the price was right, more than reasonable. GO TO THIS SALON IF YOU ARE IN DALLAS. Very comfortable all around.

LOVE. I am kind of upset I didn’t try this salon earlier! Martin is so sweet and not to mention hysterical! Normally I get pushy hair stylist who want to cut more than im comfortable but he listened to my wishes and nailed it! Can’t wait for my hair to grow so I can go back! :)

Marty is awesome! Marty had been cutting my hair for 10 years when I lived in Dallas. I moved away 6 years ago and still have not found someone to cut and color my hair as good as Marty. I came back in town this week and went directly to Marty. My cut and color has not looked this good since I moved away. He is so much fun to talk to and he tells wonderful stories. Guess I am going to have to plan more trips to Dallas or he’s going to have to visit me in Asheville!

I have been getting my haircut by Martin at State Thomas for the last year, and he has done a fantastic job. I have fine, very straight hair without much personality, and most of my prior hair stylists have used layers to try to give it volume. This last year, I was trying to grow my hair out for my wedding, but was concerned it would lose all its volume with the length. Somehow Martin managed to keep it long, without layers, and with volume. He is fantastic — highly recommend.

Marty Nichols is the owner of State Thomas Salon and the best stylist I have ever had. First, he’s FUN and makes the whole cut/​color ordeal fly by with his hilarious conversation. Secondly, and MOST importantly: Marty is a true expert. He is a master at color and gives excellent cuts that still look great weeks later. I recently had Marty take my hair from basic shoulder length bob to SHORT pixie and I am so glad he was the one to do it. It looks fantastic and I adore it. Oh, and a bonus: since he’s the owner, he graciously will remind you that tipping is not necessary, PLUS he’ll let you try products before you buy them. Bottom line: Marty is AWESOME. Book your next appointment here. You won’t regret it.

I admit it. I had been coloring my own hair since moving here from Nashville and found Fabiana around the corner from my townhouse. I have been seeing her for the past 6 months. She works late which fits my schedule and is always in time and does fantastic work!!!

I came to this salon especially for Fabiana after buying a groupon-​now deal. Fabiana did a fabulous job and I highly recommend her. I’ve been trying to grow out my hair but I purchased a Groupon so I could go in for just a teeny trim. Fabiana immediately suggested a protein treatment for my dry, over-​processed hair – for no extra charge!!! Then she cleaned up the ends enough to give my hair some style and shape (but without sacrificing my hard-​earned length) and did a really nice blow-​out too. My hair felt so soft and silky again. I was extremely happy with the results and felt she went out of her way to do a good job. I’ll definitely be back to see her again!

Suezyn saved me! I had a chemical process that wrecked my hair (dry damage, breakage, hair permanently bent in different directions). I had 2 haircuts trying to salvage it within a week. At that point, I looked like a cross between Kate + 8 and The Girl With a Dragon Tattoo.
I needed someone who would look at my face and hair, listen to my story and what I wanted to do. Suezyn was knowledgeable enough to figure out what my hair was doing and what it could do. She was a total pro and had me looking (and feeling) 100% better in an hour.
I cannot thank or recommend her enough!
PS– the salon is easy to get to and beautiful.
