First time visiting this place and I thought I would love it. I had the chicken bacon wrap, my daughter the kids chicken bites w/fruit and spouse had the mahi mahi wrap oh and hummus and pita chips. I paid around $ 37 way too over priced for starters. The wraps were good but not 10 dollars a piece good and my daughter didnt like her chicken bites. I tried her bites to see if theres a reason she didnt like them, well they weren’t very good. The presentation of the food looked great so we assumed it would be the best we’ve had but no. I might give this place another try but i wasnt impressed.

My boss loves this place. It still has a fast food atmosphere in that you order at the counter or drive thru, they call your number, etc, but there’s no sizzling in the background of the deep frier. Their oatmeal is good, but it’s oatmeal. Their stuffed sweet potatoes are good but again, it’s a sweet potato with spinach, chicken, and cheese. I guess what I’m trying to say is that I haven’t experienced any extraordinarily delicious foods, but that’s also not their schtick. They are simply the healthy food on the go, place. I DID order an empanada for $ 3.50 that was not very delicious, however. The white man’s empanada was wheat flour baked with chicken and goat cheese. Flavorless and bland. Bummer.

Way too expensive! If you want to pay $ 15 for a «large» quinoa salad and«homemade» hummus with a small bag of pita chips you’re in luck! This place is for you. I’ve tried this place twice and my second afterthought is the same as the first: What a rip-off. The only reason I give it two stars is because it’s clean and the staff spoke fluent English. Maybe they need the money so they can pay $ 15/hour min wage. I hope at least then I wouldn’t feel like such a dope for going 2x

My thoughts on Start are pretty straight forward: the quality of food is FANTASTIC, the staff is friendly, but the cost is a bit extreme. I’m surprised that the menu doesn’t offer more vegetarian options, after all, the heath-conscious crowd they attract tends to fit that bill. For the cost of their items, it’s a downright crime that they don’t offer a side with the«entrees». Still, the veggie wrap is delish, and totally worth a try. We’re the prices more reasonable, I’d visit frequently. Instead, I’ll drop in once or twice a year.

I’ve been here once for breakfast. I like the idea of healthy fast food but I don’t think I’ll go back. I went once for breakfast — and the food was mediocre at best. The eggs were undercooked and it was somewhat warm. It was also really expensive. I will say I have friends who like their quinoa salad, I’m just not sure I’ll go back as the first experience really put me off.

Was treated to here for lunch today by my boss because we wanted something fast and healthy! WOW, Start was a fantastic choice! Had the Quinoa Salad with chicken, holy smokes this is DELISH! The hummus and veggies were yummy too! And my boss gives the chicken sandwich a thumbs up because he can’t stop eating it long enough to tell me how good it is!

I wanted this place to be my new favorite place! It saddens me to write this review. Last night at around 830pm(not peak busy time) I went through the drive through and ordered a hamburger and a side salad, which cost me $ 13. I get it. You’re paying a premium for healthy food, however it is still supposed to be a «fast food» restaurant. We waited in line behind 1, maybe 2 cars last night for over 15 minutes. When I finally got up to the window, I waited another 5 minutes before anyone even addressed me. Then when someone finally came to the window, I expected maybe an «I’m sorry for the wait», nothing. The woman didn’t even address that we had been waiting in a fast food line for 20 minutes. When I got home and unwrapped my $ 13 burger, it was so rare, I was kind of scared to eat it. Instead I ate half of my boyfriend’s $ 7 taco cabana meal… womp womp

I ordered the quesadilla here, and while it tasted good, I was surprised that it was super greasy. There was a puddle of grease that just went all over the plate, making the entire quesadilla soggy. I had talked to the manager about this, but he said it was normal and it was because of the cheese. Needless to say, I found this to be quite odd, especially for a place that touts itself to be a healthy food establishment. But I think the quesadillas from Taco Cabana nearby would be better since it would be both healthier and also cheaper. Strange. Just strange.

It’s ok: I came here for lunch since I can’t seem to make it here for breakfast. After staring at the small uninspiring menu of sandwiches and wrap on there I went for the smoked salmon/cream cheese on an English muffin from the appetizer side. Glad I did, it was delicious. The side order of a small Quinoa Salad was not so tasty: it was too gummy, maybe I got an old one or they over cooked it. Who knows. Enjoyed the iced tea offerings for sure.

Love the food but BEWARE of coffee or tea cups unless you want to wear it! Fourth time I have had the recycled cups leak on me within 2 – 3 minutes. So frustrating! I’m all for recycling but having hot coffee spill on you not ok.

My tastebuds are telling me «No» but my body… my body is tellin’ me YES. If you haven’t complained about healthy fast food options you are either A.) content eating what might not even count as food B.) have more spare time to cook than I do or C.) a celebrity paid to endorse Subway. So of course I’ve been itching to try Start ever since it first caught the corner of my eye while I was driving down Lemmon. Quality of food is about 3 stars. But if you are being fast and cheap and healthy, you can’t also expect to taste great. I got the mahi mahi wrap and sweet potater tots. I mean the wrap tasted fresh, but there was no salt, no fat, nothing savory to the dish. The mahi itself wasn’t too bad, but a little dry and flavorless. The sweet potato tots were not your standard tots sub sweet potato for regular potato. It was essentially just a cube of sweet potato, lightly browned. But you get like a bajillion stars for giving me a easy-on-the-guilt fast food option other than the carb city that is Panera or the gastrointestinal gamble of Chipotle or the subpar Subway, so thanks for that. I think I can look past your Comic Sans menu and fedora-wearing cashiers for that.

Let me just start by saying that I was not won over by Start on my first visit. I originally tried a sandwich and tator tots and I was not impressed. The chicken lacked flavor and the tots as well in my opinion. The thing that brought me back was that I saw the owner on a news channel making the quinoa salad. They have very weird soda options that are not for me but I believe they are real sugar cane so I guess that may attract some. My second visit, I tried the quinoa salad with added chicken. This salad features onions, quinoa, broccoli, baby tomatoes, etc. Overall, it was slightly above average for me. Nothing incredible but was a good option for a healthy to-go meal. The meal that really takes the cake for me is the chicken quesadilla. Holy smokes! The flavor is incredible. It kind of falls apart while you hold it but so worth the mess. This is so much more than your standard quesadilla. This magical pressed tortilla features avocado, chicken, cheddar?, and I think I tasted red peppers. The area of the cheese by the edges is insane — thank me later. I highly recommend this quesadilla

Came here with my sis in law since she really likes it. I loved the ambiance! It was very clean, fresh, and the staff was very nice! We just asked for water and were charged an extra $ 5! She must have not heard but it’s cool, we got it back. Anywho. I ordered the quinoa salad. With chicken and avocado. Totally missed that chicken is $ 3 extra! But I guess since it’s organic… right? Well, the salad was delicious! Very filling and the seasoning was just right! My husband had the burger(don’t remember which one) and he loved it and said he could taste the difference. Win! Afterwards, I ordered mini carrot cake muffins to go. Wish they were a little more moist, but they were still yummy. I approve. All in all we liked it. Only complaint are the prices. It’s a little pricey… but it is a lot better for you in the end. So can’t complain too much. Would love to try other items… Tator tots!!! :D

Finally! A drive through fast food place with real food! I had the savory sweet potato stuffed with grilled chicken, spinach, bleu cheese and topped with an avocado dressing. It was very good. Quick service through the drive through even with the long line. Good job guys!

I’m giving 2 stars for now, but I may return later when they’ve settled in a bit more and try again. I love the concept of this place — local if possible, healthy options, fast food. Expanding on the ideas that Chipotle has, for example, and taking it a step further. I have been told the gluten-free bread is actually pretty good. Their options are varied enough to interest most people, and the prices are quite reasonable. However, service was a little lacking. They forgot almost half our order when they brought it out, but that was corrected with apologies. The burger, though. I ordered the burger, thinking that was a nice, simple, regular thing that can’t be screwed up. It was served medium, which I don’t care for in ground beef, but more than that it was clearly microwaved. I don’t think they have a grill or griddle or anything to actually cook this on. Microwaved beef is, to put it simply, disgusting.

Food is tasty, fresh and healthy. Most of their menu is organic and Eco-friendly. I had the grilled chicken sandwich with regular tots(they offer sweet potato tots). The Dijon mustard was creamy and tangy. According to their menu, all of their dressings are made from scratch. I thought the chicken breast was a bit on the small side. The sandwich had an adequate amount of lettuce, tomatoes and avocado. The bun was lightly toasted. The desserts are delicious; I had the flourless chocolate cake and it was moist, with just the right amount of sweetness. Free wifi makes it a great spot for a lunch meeting.

Healthy food on the go! Start is literally a fast food eatery(drive-thru and all) that boasts delicious food at an affordable price. Sure, it’s a tad pricier than your normal fast food chain, but given the quality, fresh, real ingredients and endless healthy options, it’s certainly worth it! I have yet to check out their full menu(I’m talking to you breakfast menu), but I can’t make a stop here without grabbing their quinoa salad. Filling, tasty and generously portioned with feta, cherry tomatoes, olives, etc. it’s a Mediterranean-style meal bound to please your tastebuds and waistline. Their fresh juices are also fantastic, as are their hummus and raw veggies(for snacking on the go). I support Start’s initiative in bringing healthy eating to people with hectic lifestyles. So happy they opened this new location.

Healthy fast food in a new and(in my opinion) much better location than their original Greenville digs… I love it. Tried the savory stuffed sweet potato… mmmm. I don’t know if I can rate an entire restaurant on a single item, but it was a solid 4 stars for that item alone. I’ll be back to try more. I do have to say that some things about the«healthy food» concept are a little strange to me… for example, quinoa has more calories than many desserts by volume. But, y’know, it’s hip, and it sells… and it tastes good, calories be damned.
