This place is unsanitary. I found a roach floating in my hookah. This place is horrible. Poor service

I will definitely be coming back. Came in with my friend tonight and were given the royal treatment. Seriously cannot think of a better experience with the staff at a restaurant. Owner came by to talk and his sister in law treated us like family. Totally made our weekend!!! food is amazing(we got the hummus and fattoush salad for apps and the beef kabob for entrée) and YOUMUSTGETTHETEA. Dessert was the perfect ending and so flavorful!

A roach was floating in the hookah water. The lady was pleasant about taking care of the bill, until explained that we were not going to pay. Be ware ! I will be reporting this to the health department of Dallas Texas.

First time trying Moroccan food!!! I started with the market beet salad! I normally don’t like beets but These were delicious, roasted and various colors with mixed greens and pomegranate vinaigrette! OMG! Next was Pomegranate beef kabab with seasoned roasted veggies and saffron rice. The beef was soooo tender and flavorful and the veggies and rice were a nice compliment! This place is beautiful!!! Love the décor as we enjoyed patio seating! I will be back!

We were greeted with a couple smiling waiters. We had reservation for 8, but had one more person, and they were flexible to make room for one more. It was not a crowded night and the atmosphere and environment is very beautiful and relaxing. Our waiter was very nice and friendly. I ordered a beef shawarma and most everyone ordered the kebabs. The beef shawarma was really good. It wasnt as thin as I thought it would be, but it was still good. The white sauce, I don’t know what it was, ontop of the meal was good, including the hummus. Everything was very flavorful. The chicken tagine was flavorful and good. The kebabs weren’t as flavorful but that was expected from being kebabs. The pita bread was good, as well as the crispy, croissant-like bread that came with the tagine and shawarma.

This place is absolutely horrible. My friends and I went to Souk a couple nights ago thinking it would be a fun night filled with friends, hookah, great food, and great service. Boy were we wrong. First off, nobody brought us out any menus until we finally asked for them about 20 – 25 minutes in. The menu has very little options to choose from. I ordered the pomegranate kebab thinking it would be an actual kebab but it was beef cubes. I was excited because I love beef cubes. Well, it was dry and flavorless and it was served over some couscous. Now for $ 19 I expected something more than what they brought out. Had the food been good I would consider the $ 19 price on just 5 small pieces of beef cube. My friend asked the waiter if the chicken shawerma was a sandwich and he said it was. She was surprised when a tiny plate of hummus topped with a couple chicken shawerma pieces came out, oh and guess what? $ 17, for yet another flavorless dish. I would have rather went to Afrah in Richardson and ordered a legit traditional Lebanese shawerma sandwich for only $ 5. Nobody was happy with the flavorless food and we all left hungry. I would like to talk about the hookah now. The only reason we chose this place was so we can have a good hookah in a nice area and«enjoy» our time. First of all, they only had like 6 flavors to choose from which is ridiculous to me. You can’t claim to be a hookah bar if you don’t have proper hookah. The hookah was absolute garbage and was a waste of my $ 22. I would have much rather ordered tobacco online with that money and made my own hookah at home. First, they don’t use disposable hoses which is disgusting. When he brought the hookah out, they had like a metal piece on top of the head because it was kind of windy. Well I removed the piece to see where they placed my charcoal and guess what? The moron placed the charcoal in the middle of the head which means give it 5 minutes and it would be burnt which means they are ripping everyone put of another $ 15 to replace a head. I removed it and placed it to the side like it’s supposed to be and asked for another piece to place on the edge of the other side. I don’t even want to keep talking about this absolute nightmare of a hookah because it makes my blood boil just thinking of how much money went down the drain for that garbage. There were maybe 3 – 4 other tables but yet the service was really bad. I actually wondered how bad it would be on a weekend when they would actually be busy. The restaurant did not represent Morocco. The music was Lebanese, the food was definitely not Moroccan but rather Lebanese food twisted to somehow incorporate Moroccan food in a modern way. I will say though, the beef cigars were marvelous but i’m not trying to be rude but who in the world doesn’t know how to roll some ground beef in some filo bread? I could go on and on. So I ended up paying a whooping $ 50 and tipped $ 5 so $ 55 total for an overcooked, flavorless beef skewer, garbage hookah, and horrible Service. I usually tip $ 10 and above even if my total was just $ 20 but this service didn’t even deserve a dollar, but I decided to tip the bare minimum of 10% because these guys need to pay bills right? I would also like to add that whoever built trinity grove failed in engineering or architecture or whatever it is because the downtown view is only visible from the parking lot. So should ‘t have they built it vice versa? I have heard a lot about trinity grove and I expected way more but to be honest I doubt I will ever go back to that area. I don’t know what’s so «cool» and«hip» about that tiny shopping center. Either change your whole concept and remove the hookahs or fix it all up because this place is by far the worst hookah bar I have ever gone to and that’s just very very sad.

This place earns a steady 4 stars in my book. I promise you, the atmosphere and the way the restaurant looks, it makes you believe you are in Morocco or you’re like in a home of a genie princess! It’s beautiful! I had a few lunch dishes today. souk platter: You get sides of hummus, marinated olives, lebna, zaalouk, maakouda, sweet tomatoes and bread(pita and messman!) ! It is so worth it! It’s a little bit of everything! The flavors all come together and it’s delish! I stuffed myself with everything! Ruining my 2016 diet Hah! But so worth it! Beef cigars ! Juicy and the outside crips! Yum! My mouth is drooling. Lamb tangine was just alright. The meat tasted great but the sweet potatoes threw me off. I don’t blame them because I grew up not liking sweet stuff on food(Parents aren’t into sweets) I would still get it from time to time I think– only cause the chickpeas and couscous compliment the lamb. All in all, great! Service was good but nothing great. I think that if the service was spectacular, it would earn that last star for me.

What happened?! So down hill since last time. Food isn’t what it was at all and service seriously lacking, like incredibly slow, under educated and not proper at all; I felt like I was at a Moroccan Waffle House. I will not be back. I’ll choose anywhere else at trinity groves from now on thanks!

I’ve been to baboush(sister restaurant) several times, but I think souk’s food is better. I’ve read about problems with service here, but I’ve only been here for lunch and had great service during that time. The chicken kabob with couscous is some of the tastiest chicken I’ve had at any Mediterranean place ever! The couscous was so fragrant and well seasoned. Their dips platter is just like the one at baboush, but presented much better on a gorgeous wood block! Location is great at trinity groves with a huge covered patio.

After eating at LUCK, we ventured over to Souk as we saw hookah was set up. I personally dislike hookah, it makes my head hurt — but it was outdoors and had a wonderful patio so there isn’t a stale smell of enclosed hookah lounges. We got here at 9:10 and were told to order as they would close at 10, which confused me. I said that on Unilocal it stated they were closing at 12. The waitress said that was not the case, then later came back to the table and said that it was an error as it should have said they close at 10. We had ordered hookah regardless, and the atmosphere was fine and dandy. I did notice that people were seated and served at 10, which I thought did not make sense. We ended up leaving close to 11pm, but there was not much consistency around closing time which I thought was not professional.

My bf and I stopped in here Saturday evening for a bite to eat. We didn’t have to wait to get a table — even though it was gorgeous outside and we anticipated a long wait, I was pleased to see that there was lots of seating available. The hostess even was nice enough to sit us own between two heaters, as it was sundown, and getting a tiny bit chilly. We did wait a little while for someone to come take our order, which was odd, since they weren’t busy, but once our food came out, I felt much happier. My bf and I both ordered the chicken shawarma, and it did not disappoint. The chicken was flavorful, and the bed of hummus it sat on was creamy and delicious. I was happy that the portion was just the right size. Not too much, and not too little. I felt satisfied with my meal, and I hope to come back sometime and try something different!

The BF and I actually had our eyes set on the Italian place in the ‘groves, but had to park over by the brewery so we decided to look at the menus of the other restaurants since we had to walk by them all anyway. We liked Souk’s menu so we ended up circling back around and going in. This place is cute inside. Low lights, booths in the corners of the restaurant. Cute lamps and candles on the table and moroccan(I assume) music playing overhead. They also have a small cozy bar with seating. We started with the hummus with warm pita bread and the beef cigars. You can almost never go wrong with hummus. It was delicious. The beef cigars might have been my favorite. It was ground beef wrapped in pyhllo dough and fried, maybe. Delicious. We also had the olive plate that my boyfriend loved since it was a little tart and salty. It also came with pita bread. I’d skip the beet salad next time. Not many beets and maybe three pistachio nuts. For the entrée we split the lamb kabob served on rice(could also get it with couscous). I was stuffed by then so only had a small bite. Was very flavorful. Of course I wasn’t too stuffed for the orange blossom crème brûlée. It was perfect. Warm on top and cold on the bottom(bottom). We inhaled this. All this food and four drinks was right around $ 100. Not bad for a fun and yummy date night. The also have hookahs, and belly dancers on Friday and Saturday nights.

Came here with a few friends for lunch. The waiter was very helpful explaining the menu to us. We split appetizer platter which was plenty. The patio area is super cool. Drinks were tasty. A great place to hang out with friends!

Souk is the type of place where you are instantly attracted by its décor. It takes you to another culture instantly when you step through the doors. On a nice day, outdoor seating is a great choice but just don’t pick a table with holes. Let’s just say that your pants will thank you in case there are any types of spillage from the table. I highly recommend their Souk platter but beware if they ask you if you want more pitas bread, it is NOT free which they failed to inform us. But for $ 2, you get about two baskets of pita bread. I think that is rather fair. I highly recommend the butter pita bread over the regular pita bread. It is so addictive that I wouldn’t order it unless you are ready for a lot of carbs. After eating so much of the appetizer, I could not finish the chicken shawarma sandwich. My friend did not like the meatballs from his kafta tagine. He thought it was too dry.

The menu is standard Moroccan. Tangines, Mezza Plates, hummus, etc… But is well executed. Both my wife and me had the arugula/date salad, which came with a grilled pear and a dusting of cinnamon around the plate. My wife and I agreed: Delicious. I had the Chicken w Preserved Lemon Tangine. The chicken was drier than it should have been, but the dish was overall good.(The chicken Tangine at Baboush in Uptown is better, though, because the chicken is so moist(which is part of the idea of Tangine!)) The wine list isn’t bad, with several Moroccan wines(I had the white and it was very good) and btg red offerings(I had the Perrin which is a solid, cheap, Rhôné). The negative part is the floor. The floor hasn’t been trained. Our young waitress had no idea about the dishes we ordered or the wine list. But that’s ok. The chef made up for the untrained waitstaff. We will be back.

Picked this place while checking out Trinity Groves(Dallas’s restaurant incubator that you NEED to check out when you’re in the area!), and I’m so glad I did! We made reservations and were immediately welcomed on our arrival and taken to a cozy booth near the back. I got the mint tea and my husband got the Moroccan coffee — both great and served in beautiful little traditional Moroccan pots. We both had the beef shawarma, which was delicious, and the impressive chocolate dome for dessert. Highly recommend this little Moroccan oasis in Dallas!

We came here for lunch. The place is nestled in between other small restaurants in Trinity Grove, there is limited parking up front. Easy to find just on Singleton before you hit the bridge. The whole area smells really good. We had a group of 6, 4 of us were already there. We were seated and ordered within 2 minutes. We arrived at 1159am(i remember because I texted my husband) Then we waited. And waited. By 1245 I asked one of the waiters to please check our food. Because waiting 45 minutes seemed a bit off… specially since there were barely people in the restaurant. A couple was seated behind us at around 1230, by the time I asked the waiter to check the food, they were served already. After additional 10 minutes I asked another waiter to please check, because at this time i was about ready to leave… We finally got our food at 105pm. Absolutely not acceptable. I could tell the waiter simply forgot to place the order. But by walking around us a million times to top off the water. You would think he would have noticed that we just had WATER after 40 minutes of topping thus off? When the food finally came out, we were all super hungry. I ordered the lamb sandwich. OMG it was SO greasy, I bit in it and pure olive oil ran(not dripped) RAN down onto the plate and it was soaked up by the bread. It was just gross. The scraps of meat were good thou and the vegetables mixed in. Honestly though, there was barely any lamb meat and it didn’t really taste like lamb either. I am from Europe and have been to Greece, turkey, Mallorca, Cypress… I know how lamb tastes like. Anyways, my coworkers food looked amazeballs. The thing that upset me a bit was that nothing was comped. Waiting for 45 minutes PLUS and NO comp? seriously… We were offered baklava though which was a nice gesture but at $ 127 total bill I would have expected a bit more if you want a group back. I wanted to take my husband here, however I am not sure if I would come back.

Didn’t really wow me. Defiantly left full though. My party of five people were quickly seated with reservations made earlier in the week. The waiter quickly took our order for drinks and food. The food arrived in a timely manner but none of us were really thrilled by the flavors or quality of our dishes. There want any one major flaw but the tagine dishes seemed soupy and under seasoned. The shwarma looked good but lacked condiments and was somewhat dry. We did enjoy the souk platter which was more than enough for all of us. We will not be returning any time soon.

First time to experience and I was not disappointed. A girls night out… we started with a sampling of the assorted spreads on pita, hummus, eggplant, tomato and a special yogurt all unique flavors. We moved onto lamb tagine and some appetizers. Service was nicely paced so that we could enjoy the feast. A nice surprise was a belly dancer to entertain the crowd. Highly recommend this as a dining experience.

We ended up at Souk by happenstance, not by choice, after a failed attempt to visit the relocated(but still not ready to open) OSK. No matter. Souk was well worth the happenstance. We should officially call it kismet. Our server was very helpful in guiding us through the menu — what was the most popular item on the menu? The lamb tagine. What was his favorite item on the menu? The flatbreads, but he didn’t necessarily recommend them if you were looking for something different to eat because while the flavor was unique it was still basically a pizza. The guys both ordered the lamb tagine while my friend ordered an appetizer sampler. I ordered a roasted beet and arugula salad with salmon… scratch that, they were out of salmon so I changed my order to with chicken. Everything was delicious. We understood why the lamb tagine was so popular. At first we suspected it came highly recommended because it was the most expensive item on the menu, but in fact the lamb was tender and the dish was bursting with flavor. And the apricot on top! The assortment of dips and spreads on my friend’s appetizer platter were yummy also. The hummus and eggplant dip were clear winners, while opinions were mixed on the tomato-based spread. Some loved it, some did not. My salad was incredible — arugula, roasted beets, juicy mandarin oranges, pistachios and tender juicy chicken(think pieces like you would see on a kebab). The chicken had been marinaded in harissa, so it had a light spicy flavor. So.Good. I would definitely order again and again. Like I said — kismet that we went to Souk. Now I have another favorite restaurant in Trinity Groves to make my meal selection process all the more difficult.
