Salon 5014

My hair haircut looks ridiculous on me. I spent months growing it out, but my stylist didn’t clarify when she was confused by what I meant, and instead of texturing one side slightly, she cut off two inches. Never going back.

I WISH I could’ve had a 5 star experience but sadly did not.
Another Unilocaler posted pics of her fabulous hair cut and I messaged her. She was super sweet and replied with the name of the stylist. I promptly set an appointment for my daughter to get this fabulous look for her graduation.
We showed up on time but Edith ran about 20 mins late. I showed Edith the pic and she told me the cut would have to be shorter to look right. I don’t know why because the hair style requires long hair. What do I know I am a paralegal not a hair stylist. So I showed her the pic again and asked her to make her hair look like the pic.
My daughters hair was down to her waist. Edith showed me where she planned to cut and it was right below the shoulders. I told her that was too short. I showed her the pic again and she said something about needing shorter hair. I know the hair needs to be shorter but this Unilocalers hair is not shoulder length. So I told her to cut the hair to lower back below the bra line and left since my kid didn’t want me «helicoptering.» She was excited. Mind you I have a super shy kid.
The next time I saw my kid was when Edith brought her out. She cut the f*** out of my daughters hair. She cut it off to the original place she told me she would. The style looks nothing like the pic. She cut about a foot of hair off. My daughter was originally going to donate the hair but I talked her into coming to this place, cutting off only 6 –8 inches and having a long layered look. Now my kid has a mom hair cut.
I told Edith it looked nothing like the pic. She didn’t have anything to say. I kept my cool telling her she cut off nearly all my daughters hair. She said it was her mistake that she didn’t realize my daughter had elastic hair when it was wet. She said it won’t happen next time.
There won’t be a next time. This is freaking traumatizing. I should’ve have made a stink. I regret not doing so. Hair will grow back but this hair was down to her waist! In an hour Edith managed to cut off over 5 years of growth. Everyday when I look at her hair I am reminded of this major screw up. My kid said she took off so much hair immediately that there was no salvaging it.
I’ll post pics later. My kid also doesn’t like me posting pics on social media of her so I have to figure out how to blur her face.

Love this place! Everyone is friendly and does their best to make you feel welcome. I highly recommend them.

I’ve been coming to Studio 5014 (formally Halo) for about a year now, I love it so much. The staff is always so nice and welcoming, you can make appointments online, they have lots of parking available, and it’s modern and elegant. Vanessa Muñoz does my color, I’ve been with her for the past three years! I followed her over from her former salon, I didn’t even think about it twice. I’m naturally a dark brunette, almost black hair, she has managed to give me the blonde hair I’ve always wanted and has not only done a flawless color job but has also managed to keep the integrity of my hair! Anyone can take you blonde, but she does it so carefully. This, allowing me to keep my hair strong and long, something I’ve struggled with my whole life. I highly recommend Vanessa to anyone thinking about going lighter, she can work wonders! Rachel Grace cuts my hair, she is honestly the only hair stylist that I trust. Lol. She is always willing to change it up and is always honest with her recommendations. She also cuts a super cute fringe! I’m so thankful for these ladies!

Formerly Halo Salon under new ownership. This is my favorite place for getting my do flipped, Stephanie is tops for colour and cut. If you have never checked this place out do so. The staff are friendly and artists with the newest styles or even giving you your out classic look.

This is my go to salon! I love the staff and the interior is beautiful. I first came here a while back ago and have not stopped since!
I just used to get my hair cut from Shawnee (she is amazing and really cool) and when I wanted to mess with my color she recommended Britney. Honestly she is the best colorist I know-​at least that has colored my hair. I have had no complaints at all!

Same wonderful service as before, when it was Halo Salon. Amy Allen, as always, did an amazing job with my cut. I’ve been seeing Amy for years and finally decided to get my hair dyed for the first time in my entire life and Amy did an amazing job. I’m sure there’s some fancy term for what she did but basically she hand painted these beautiful, subtle highlights throughout my hair. It’s like a dang work of art. Is there a museum for hair? If so, my hair should be in it now that Amy has worked her magic.
Plus I got to drink a Shiner while she worked on me to help calm my nerves during my first experience with hair dye.
Seriously, even my coworker, who is very blunt and tells it like it is, couldn’t stop raving about my hair today.

I LOVE this salon! I moved to Dallas 5 years ago and tried so many salons until I found Salon 5014 (formerly Halo) about 4 years ago and I couldn’t be happier with my cut and color (which I change up quite often!) Everyone that works here is so nice, educated and truly takes their time to get to know you and what you are wanting to do with your hair! I’m also a Kerastase addict so it was an added bonus that they carry this line. The other thing that is great about this salon is that they serve wine (um yes please!:)), coffee and cucumber water which makes the experience that much more enjoyable! This place always is busy but I never have any issues getting in! I highly recommend — you won’t be disappointed!

Best salon in Dallas by far! You won’t be disappointed, I have seen several different stylist at this salon and every time I have loved my cut and color! My favorites are Rachel Voss or Liz Vela, but they book up fast and pretty far in advance so make sure to plan ahead! I’m so happy I found this salon!

I’ve been coming here for the past few years (formerly «Halo») for my haircuts. Love the ambiance, the friendly (and professional) staff, and the little touches (wine, cucumber water) they add to make getting a haircut pleasant, relaxing, and happy.
All of the stylists I’ve book have been great – Liz and Rachel in particular! They’re super talented and I always leave happy. The stylists will listen to what you want (i.e., what type of cut you want, how much upkeep you want to commit to, etc.), and give you exactly that!
It’s crazy how many experiences I’ve had at other salons where stylists are pushy, or don’t listen to what you want. Never a problem here. Also, may not a big deal for others, but I HATE when salons try to push products on you. I’ve never ever had that happen here, and I’m eminently grateful:) I highly recommend this place (even if it means I’ll have more competition for appointment times)!
