I have always enjoyed Salata. The ingredients are fresh and the portion size is large. I like being able to take it to go or sit out on the patio overlooking the west village area. The only down side is I think it’s pretty over priced. A salad is about $ 12 which makes me not want to go all the time.

I recently dined at Salata(location on the corner of McKinney and Blackburn) 6÷3÷16. Though my salad was tasty, the rations of the dressings/sides(cucumbers, tomato’s, peas etc.) was pitiful! PLEASE believe the prior post, they were right! The salad itself was pricey, but not a problem given the demographics of the area. However the rations of sides that the establishment and workers allow is down right wrong. For a regular salad you are give 4 squares of tomatoes which is barley equivalent to two small grape tomatoes, one cucumber SLICE, which cut into 4 small pieces and when I asked for spinach(which I offered to pay extra for) some of my salad spring mix was removed and placed back in the salad box, not to mention if I asked for extra anything the workers looked at me like I was crazy. Why does this establishment skimp on the sides, its not like its poultry(chicken, shrimp, salmon). I don’t understand why it is rationed the way it is, some of us prefer veggies/sides and no meat on our salad. The picture on the website is vibrant with the sides/dressings they offer, at best it is deceiving and a misrepresentation of what the establishment actually offers. Not only were the sides on the bar low(volume wise), but I am sure it looked that way on purpose to deter customers from asking for additional/more sides on their salad when you are given a ration that is not comparable to what you are paying for. They need to change this about their establishment. I will be going to Eatzie’s or Snappy!

As far as salad places go, this one is worth checking out. It was easy to order and tasted fine. There wasn’t anything particularly«awesome» about it. But I would go back.

Salata is my ideal place when I want a salad. This is my first time at this location but they are all good. Good price for an awesome customizable salad with as many toppings as you want and included bread. Parking was a little tough to find.

I am very picky when it comes to take out salads, usually it’s the dressing selection or quality of meat that ruins it for me, but Salata gets a win in both categories! The options are great — so many toppings and dressings to choose from. They offer spinach, mixed greens, romaine or spring mix as your lettuce options. Balsamic, Caesar, tomato vinaigrette, lemon vinaigrette, etc. etc. the list goes on for dressings. They also offer atons of «croûton» variations — which you don’t see often! I’ve been here several times and the ingredients always look(and taste) fresh. Though this place can get busy for lunch rush, the line always seems to keep moving because they have a pretty good strategy in place. Easy, convenient location right off the highway, distant enough from the crowd heading into West Village, and with a free lot behind the store front. Oh and you like exotic tea or lemonade, they offer 6 different types like prickly pear, peach, plum cinnamon tea, tropical green tea…

I LOVE Salata but this location has officially gone downhill. I’ve been a regular since it opened and it’s been my go-to spot for a quick and healthy meal. Sadly, there is always some type of issue when I’ve been there lately. The staff isn’t very friendly, they are consistently running out of stuff, and they have become extremely stingy with their portions… particularly the avocado and protein. If I’m spending $ 13 on a salad, I’m pretty sure you can spare a little more than two slivers of avocado and 4 pieces of baby shrimp without charging even more. Most Salata locations are great but since I’ve had so many sub-par experiences at this one, I doubt I’ll return for awhile.

The management is awful! Don’t go there! The manager will tell her employees, not to serve you a lot of toppings and if you do happen to ask for multiple toppings, they tell their staff only sprinkle a few toppings. They will even yell at their employees in front of customers! It’s awful! Management is rude!!! I love Salata and their products, just not this particular location because of the women running the establishment! Save yourself the trouble!

Quick look rating: 5⁄5 Food & Quality, 3⁄5 Service, 4⁄5 Experience I come in here a good bit for the salads! I even love seeing the different healthy options that others get in there salads! Salads are built at your style, except you have to keep asking for just a little more, most often! The place has always been clean. The line moves pretty fast! The food always looks clean and fresh. The Katy trail is not far, so after a run, Salata is a fun stop to make! Tennis courts are only a block away. There are also several Yoga & gym places that are close by as well! I love the fact that you can get a number of different items in your salad! Be aware that the more items you get in you salad, the smaller the portions get from the wait staff, in what I have seen! Ug! Be aware of the extras that will be added to your bill at the end. The staff will let you know about the extras most of the time. When you start out building your salad, a person has a choice of types of lettuce or you go for a combination Iceberg, spinach, mixed. I like the old line of adding so many different colors to my salad! Throwing in some protein in towards the end, but do remember, that you might have already thrown proteins in from any of the beans tossed in! I like coming in here to eat before I go grocery shopping! ~ If you eat before grocery shopping, a person tends not to buy as much. ~ Here I get reminders of some healthy options that I might have missed on my list! ~ If I come here, it usually reminds me to go run first,(most of the time). ~ I can kind of see of the different veggies that might be in season. ~ The Salad line gives me different ideas for salads at home. Yes, I get a little inspired around good looking healthy food! **Bottom line: I would recommend Salata, get a «to go box» so you can take back the rest of your salad and toppings! And be sweet to the staff!

I first saw Salata in Preston Hollow and thought I’d like to check it out. A day later I happened to be at my friends apartment in uptown and noticed the Blackburn location. I stopped in to grab a dinner salad on my way home. The place is clean and fresh feeling. This being my first trip, I asked the salad maker to walk me through the sizes and options. I wish they had some ‘pre-fab’ options to choose from(I was tired and I just wanted some veggies), but I did like they had calorie counts with each topping option. As far as I can tell, they would let you put some of all of the veggies on the salad for no extra charge. I also ordered a piece of multigrain bread. For a decent sized salad with a good portion of chicken and a roll, I didn’t think the price was too much. Then again, the Whole foods salad bar has more options and about the same price. Good place to grab a salad to-go, but nothing special. I might be back if I happen to be in the neighborhood.

First let me say… I love Salata, just not this location. The food is always fresh and taste the same as the other Salata I frequent in Westchester off Preston and Northwest highway. I have visited this location 3 times and all 3 times the workers have horrible attitudes and seem annoyed when your specific about your toppings. They always were stingy with my toppings and the last time I went before I even finished getting my toppings. I left and went 15 minutes out my way to the Salata in Westchester. Those workers are friendly and very courteous. This location sucks big time because the workers make it so frustrating. If they don’t want to work, then let someone else work that wants a job. And whomever the manager is at this location must advises the employees to cheat the customers on their toppings. I will never go back to this location, 3 times and that’s enough headache for me!

I had been told by a coworker to try this salad place so I figured, why not? I came here for lunch today– wasn’t thrilled with the parking but there was a garage near it. The downside of uptown. The restaurant was very clean and I appreciated that everything was labeled in each section. I did not like that the workers were not organized with the customers order in line. She started with me and then halfway through said hold on and started the other girls order then came back and then went back to her. Not a fan of the process. I chose the small salad btw. The soup– I got the tomato basil– was AMAZING to say the least. One of the best I have tried. They also give a piece of bread for no additional cost. Lastly, I chose to get the prickly pear limeade. Interesting favor, i liked it. The grand total was $ 13.00, which is not horrible but when you think about what you are really buying– overpriced lettuce– it’s a little steep. I think I would come back mainly for the soup. Otherwise my first choice is still snappy salads.

Okay I went again like two days later after the lunch rush and I had a much better experience. There was literally no one in there. Just me. The lady who helped me. was very nice and asked me if it was my first time and was very patient and attentive as I put together my salad. I settled on a small Salata mix with my choice of toppings. I got the exact same thing I got the first time. I love that they have alfalfa sprouts. I mentioned the shrimp looked good and asked if she’d had it before and she offered me a sample, it was tasty. I would definitely try that as my protein next time. I think the thing that I like about Salata is the flat rate you pay for you to make your salad how you want. I am sure there are certain things you may have to pay extra for though like extra protein… I don’t know for sure. I also like the pita chips as an option for your bread. I like that they are not like the store bought ones. They seem homemade or locally made. They are dark brown with salt flakes. I also like that they offer flavored teas and lemonade that are brewed and made fresh. It’s not like Lipton or Nestea out of the machine, you know. And to top it all off, she threw a caramel from Dallas Caramel Company in my bag. I’m not a big caramel fan but this one was so good and soft that I Google the company. I hate hard caramel, hurts my teeth. I will probably be back with hopes of continued better experiences than my first!

Had lunch here with a coworker. I noticed other reviewers stating the employees are stingy with toppings, and we noticed the same thing. If you ask them for extra, they will do it but they seem annoyed. If their price point was a little lower($ 8, perhaps?) I would be more inclined to visit again, as it is a healthy option to a traditional lunch place. The ingredients seemed fresh and I liked that they had tofu.

Salata is such a great healthy option for dinner or lunch. Everything tastes delicious and fresh. The only down-side is the pace of the service. They never seem to be staffed enough to handle the number of people eating there. They go very slow and are often not very friendly. But I still keep going back!

The food is always fresh and some times the staff is friendly. I enjoy eating my food and watching the traffic and ppl pass by. Its also in a great location in west village so when your done eating if you want to take a stroll around the block its very easy to do and some times interesting… I was going to give this place 5 stars but I just tried to take a pic so I could get this place some business from someone who has never heard of salata and Unilocal. But I was told I cant take pics of their food line and I didnt like that.

If you want salad with 4 tomatoes, 5 corn pieces and 2 slices of cucumber on top of a few lettuce leafs and to pay $ 10 for it, you came to the right place! Its one thing to charge $ 10 for a salad, but why being so CHEAP? she was counting the amount of tomatoes, when you ask for more she is giving you a face and doing you a favor by adding another one. I will never come back here. I gave them 2 stars because of the atmosphere and cleanness of the place.

This place is pretty unique in salad making. This is a «make it yourself» salad joint. You pick everything you want in the salad and someone makes it for you– like a chipotle for salads if you will. I loved that this place had a variety of toppings, anywhere for chickpeas to corn. I got a small salad with mixed greens, onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, sundried tomatoes, chickpeas, and feta cheese with grilled chicken. The chicken was a little dry but other then that it was great! No matter the toppings your price is still the same which is nice!

I frequent this Salata about once a week. It’s walking distance from my home, relatively cheap and always super fresh. I particularly love the spring mix, fresh salmon and all the fixings. Their salads are the best, but for $ 13 per salad, they are pretty stingy with their toppings and dressing, especially at this location. Additionally on more than one occasion they have charged me for extra things that I’ve ordered like soup, avocado, or extra dressing, but forgot to add it in. Great food but their service needs some improvement and they need to be more generous with their portions for the premium prices they charge.

Oh Salata, how I love thee! Although the parking at this Uptown location can be a bummer, the delicious food that awaits you inside is so worth it. Salata is a quick, grab and go sit concept serving up salads, wraps and soups that contain only the freshest ingredients. So often, salad bars over charge by A LOT based on how many toppings and fixins’ you include in your dish but not here! You can pick as many items as you want and then you pay additional based on the protein you choose. They have marinated tofu, grilled chicken, pesto chicken, shrimp, salmon and more! Get your salad in a wrap for a little extra oomph! I went in this week and got a wrap, a cup of soup and a slice of basil pesto bread and my total with tax was just $ 12. A steal!

I am only giving two stars to this location of Salata. I go to the Salata in my hometown, The Woodlands, and they do a far better job. IF I AMPAYING $ 13FOR A SALADCANYOUPLEASEADDMORETHEN3CARROTSINMYSALAD. This makes me so mad. The customer service is terrible. You ask for ingredients and you are given not even a handful. Not even kidding, I had to ask for extra eggs three times and they still don’t give you enough. On top of that, when you ask them for more they make it seem like you are inconveniencing them. I love the meat you can get and the fresh herb vinaigrette is something I take home to have when i’m making my own meals. The manager really needs to talk to the employees about portion sizes and what your paying customers deserve.
