Noticed the following when my child was enrolled: 1) I got tired of hearing one of the teachers yelling at the kids every time I came by. 2) Safety — Mostly putting babies to sleep in swings and other places like those donut shaped pillows. After reading about a baby who died because daycare workers let him sleep in a carseat, I started noticing that the infants were sleeping in their swings and not the cribs. I would walk by a classroom and there would be babies all asleep in the swings while the cribs were empty. Sometimes I would also notice too many babies in a room with only one teacher. Most of the teachers were very nice and pleasant other than the one who yells. I liked the administration and my daughter loved her teachers. I’m much happier with a new daycare though.

Being a new parent with a picky lawyer husband you want to do everything right and it made choosing the right preschool very difficult because everywhere I toured didn’t seem perfect enough and my husband and I couldn’t be happier. We were first so hesitant to even consider trusting anyone else to take care of and teach our new baby boy, but after touring the school, meeting the caring directors, and stopping by multiple times unannounced to see how things were going we knew we could. Also, not to mention the added comfort of having a major hospital right around the corner. We also knew that this was the perfect place for our little boy for the next couple years because my husband actually was impressed by the different programs and curriculum. Needless to say after becoming friends with other parents who are just as pleased with this school and being there for over a year now we couldn’t be happier and the directors are just as warm and welcoming as when we first toured. They still take the time to speak to me even though I know they are so busy and have been so easy going when I’ve had to drop my son off early. If you are a first time parent or not Rosewood is the best preschool around and my friends can attest to the Frisco location, as well :)

My child’s teachers(Ms Kawana, Ms. DeeDee) were fantastic. The administration is a little lacking though. They say that students are allowed to arrive at 6:30, yet they will not schedule staff prior to 6:30. This was rarely problematic, but when you pair it with the fact that only one staff member is given a key and the fact that life happens, parents and students were left in a difficult place when traffic kept that staff member from arriving on time. Traffic definitely happens in DFW, especially when there is weather. It should be the responsibility of the director to ensure that the doors are open. It was, however, just left on the shoulders of the one morning staff member given a key. The director was rarely there before 7:30 am. Also, the front desk staff leaves something to be desired. They would make the executive decision with regards to calling me about issues with my son. Yes, I left tylenol there for him, but that doesn’t mean you should just tell me about his fever when I arrive at 5 pm to pick him up. His health is not your call; it should be mine. I had that discussion with the director, only to not be called the next day for yet another health issue. Again, it’s clear the teachers love the kids and will do what they can for them. The administration needs to get its act together, though.
