Stopped by all the way from Oak Cliff for some of the best catfish in all DFW! They make fresh when you order, takes about 10−15min so call it in, you can’t go wrong with Rio’s.

Oh my!!! This is the best kept secret in Dallas! We were out driving around last Friday and my mom was in town and wanted some fish. So I checked the reviews via Unilocal and decided to try Rio’s out for myself. I am not a person who is easily impressed so when I tell you that that the food we received was a large portion of two catfish fillets, two slices of bread with fries was the best serving of catfish I have EVER had! We will visit this location again very soon!

Overall the food was delicious! I went to the location on off of Frankford and Marsh. I got the catfish/wing meal and my boyfriend got the chicken tenders. You get a lot of food with a meal. The meat, fries, and slaw. The catfish was amazing! I was apprehensive about the big pieces because sometimes the flavor gets fishy. not here! It was delicious! The wings were good as well. They’re big wings! The chicken tenders were good too! My ONLY gripe was the actual service in the restaurant. We got a container of tartar sauce that had a piece of crunchy breading in it. And the people working there kept going in and out of the restaurant. The lady took our order, walked to her car, and left! Lots of smack talking between employees. Kinda unprofessional, but hey didn’t change the fact the food was good. I’d definitely go to Rio’s again just a different location.

Great food been here 2X and love the wings and catfish. So fresh. Counter service first time not very friendly, but the young man working on my last visit was so nice and started by saying«how is your daying going’. BAM… tip meter just went up.

I been there twice. First time fish was super salty. Second time I tried wings, not pleasing. Small wings and over cooked. Just my experience there might be better places out there. Please don’t review this business if you received a freebie for writing this review, or if you’re connected in any way to the owner or employees.

My wife and I finally got to try last night and we were not disappointed. I had the four piece catfish meal and they were out of this world! The portions are huge, crispy and flaky. I can’t wait to go back to try the fried chicken.

I LOVERIOS! The chicken is always seasoned so well. The only complaint I have is about the fries, they are always so skimpy with the fries in the meal so I decided am to get a family size to share and I was even more disappointed!!! In the family size they give you an individual portion and in the meals they give you baby portions! Let me show you what I paid $ 5 for…(see picture)

Finally had an opportunity to try Rios and ordered a 4 piece catfish meal to go to share with my wife. Other reviews weren’t joking about the main entrée portion sizes — the fillets were huge! Good seasoning, crispy crust and steaming, flaky fish were wonderful and not the least bit greasy. The only reasons for the 3 stars is the tiny portion of limp fries and missing cole slaw. I’m certain I will return for more catfish and look forward to trying the chicken. But you can be certain that I’ll inspect the to-go sack for any missing items!

Quick version: if you are craving fried fish or plain/bbq/Louisiana sauce fried wings and don’t mind dining in a small space or taking your food to go, give them a try. Price point is good(average $ 9 – 13 meal), freshly made, & service was good. Food is made fresh to order. We opted to share a four piece fish meal that came with an order of fries, tarter sauce, a half ounce of cole slaw and plain bread($ 13 I think). The fish was fried perfectly. Seriously. Flaky white interior enclosed in a lightly seasoned and crispy cornmeal batter. We also shared fried mushrooms $ 3 I think), and an 8 piece wing order($ 9 I think). Wings can be tossed in a bbq sauce or a Louisiana hot sauce. We opted for plain wings with sauce on the side. These are medium to large whole wings(I can eat when I’m hungry… and I was good with 2 of these and a piece of fish. I ate 3 though… sheer gluttony). Drinks are not included in the meals. Canned drinks/bottled water is a $ 1 each. They also serve slices of cake. If I could change anything it would be to offer a better sauce than a Louisiana base; make something up. And, give more of it; what’s given is not proportionate to the amount of food served. The coleslaw and sauces provided are 1 to 2 oz. If anyone wants extra(tarter, bbq, hot) sauce, I think it is .50 each. Good job overall. Freshly made and friendly people.

Drove about 15min from my hotel to check this place out. I was a little skeptical when I first parked. I ordered the catfish and wings combo. One bite into that catfish explained it all. Crispy but flakey white meat. You dont need any condiments with this. The chicken is dredged in the same batter. My only regret was coming here by myself and not being able to try the other things on the menu. Would come again.

I came in today, finally after months of contemplating. This place is in a run down strip mall, so parking is hard to find. I walked in and its small. They have bar stools where you can sit and eat but I wouldnt advise it. Its probably there just to wait on your food. I got the 2PC Chicken(Breast & Wing) came w/fries coleslaw and hotsauce. First off the wing and breasts are HUGGGEEE! The reviews werent lying about portions! The breast so huge I had to share with my dog. Took 15 for food to be ready but it was worth it. I thought the breasts were small so the 2PC seemed little portion to me for $ 8 but NONONO Golden Chick, KFC, Popeyes etc have no competition on Rio’s their chicken is hugeee! Chicken was good. Loved the skin it wasnt greasy! It was seasoned perfectly. The fries were bland but who cares they were still crisp and chicken made up for it! I would be back but call ahead of time if you want food sooner.

This place is in a suite inside of a kind of strip mall. When you walk in the lady just looks at you as if you’re directly from the walking dead. I wondered if I had a piece of brain in my teeth or something. Nevertheless on to the food. We got the 4pc mixed, 4pc catfish and small gizzards. We waited about 25 mins for our food. Cost 27.01 in all. The menu says it’s a dollar for a can soda but we were charged 1.25. I recommend just going across the street to the Murphys gas station or Walmart to get drink. The taste of the fish was good. Seasoned well. The chicken was HUGGGGEEEEE *Donald Trump Voice*. The flavor was OK but I don’t like big meat. Lol. I DEMOLISHED the gizzards tho. Fries plain. Nthn exciting. Coleslaw = yucktastic. I would recommend. I would only go back for the gizzards. 4 stars ONLY Bc the attitude of the cashier was EWW.

New to the area so I’ve been trying out random places. I stumbled upon this place as I was checking out the Thai Restaurant next door. I walked in to what smelled like heaven for anyone born in the south. That greasy fried chicken smell did not let me leave the restaurant. However I was instantly turned off by the staff. They didn’t bother to greet me but just stared at me and waited for me to order. I gazed at the large menu that offers all kinds of fried goods like fried chicken, fried catfish, fried tenders etc. I decided to try the 4PC dark combo. Came with two legs and two thighs, a sauce container of cole slaw, and two pieces of bread. I also ordered fried mushrooms, because that’s easily one of my favorite fried foods. The fried chicken was perfectly cooked and tender, but just way too salty. The fries were decent, and the bread felt stale. The only thing that saved this place for me was the fried mushrooms. They were perfectly crunchy and juicy. My mouths watering just thinking about it again. I might come back for the mushrooms, and maybe to try the catfish sometime, but I’d rather have Popeyes or Church’s chicken. Their batter isn’t over salty.

I’ve been here like 5 times or more and always ordered the wings. I had the 4 piece the first time which was made to order hot and fresh and came with 2 slices of bread, coleslaw, ketchup, and hot sauce. It was good just lacking some seasoning. The second time I ordered the 6 piece with extra seasoning on both the chicken and fries and it was gooooood! The extra seasoning made so much better. The staff is cool, food made to order, will definitely be back … I mean like today don’t judge me ! lol
