This was my third time coming here for Santa during the Holidays. The building itself hires a Santa to come every weekend of December where you can sit on his lap and get pictures done. The most you may have to wait is about 5 minutes and that’s only if there are people already taking pictures. Other then that it’s a nice set up and it’s FREE! There is also a big Christmas tree that you can get some nice family pictures in front of as well. Also from this building you can get to all the underground restraunts and shops in the area. It’s a win win all around. P. S. I left out that you have to at least have an employee of the Tower itself go with you for the Santa on the weekends.

Wow, I just went downstairs to get something to eat, can I say what a disappointment. So I need to give kudos to the person who made the Turkey, excellent. The whole wheat rolls certainly up to par of what it should taste. What disappointed me was the sides, mash potatoes, OK, powder and water nothing extra ordinary, even and idiot who can read could have whipped that together. Broccoli cheese casserole, wow utterly bad. Stems of broccoli plentiful, crowns were shining with its absence. Yes, it was boring, cheese, rice had no flavor, and broccoli stems, someone is being ripped. They offered gravy and thank goodness that came in a different container, something brown that tasted nothing like gravy, lackluster, bland, where is the spice, where is the flavor, is the craft of making a gravy gone with the wind. I can not believe they offered this gravy, it was not good for anything except the garbage. Yes, and 11.25 dollar later, I had two excellent slices of turkey and scoop of mash for 11.25 dollars. I felt someone robbed me and gave me dogs breakfast. Time to get it together this was absolutely the worst for the dime I spent.

It’s like an elementary school or hospital cafeteria with comparable food. Some sort of mystery meat thing floating in water, fried food galore, nonstop carbs. Bulk food made in bulk and fast and sitting under warm lamps. Made the mistake of eating here and now I’m paying for it. I couldn’t even finish, I just left my tray(yes they use cafeteria trays) on the table. I need to either vomit or poop… maybe both.

I never thought a cafeteria would woo me, but this place is great. Yes you have to venture into the depths of the Renaissance building downtown. However, you will find an authentic cafeteria where you can find the likes of chicken fried steak, baked chicken, sandwiches made to order, a salad bar, and huge slices of cake! I usually hit the salad bar to justify the cake that I may or may not have impulsively added to my tab. I have yet to be able to finish the whole slice. The salad bar is fresh and regularly replenished. People have raved about the comfort food too. There is also plenty of seating. If you are downtown, and want to get in and out, go here.

Very clean building with various restaurants and there is even a cafeteria. If you’d like to sit outside to take in some fresh air, smoke, etc., you can. All headed by top flight security of the world Chris. Thanks for a great visit Chris!

Remember Wyatt’s Cafeteria back in the day? This place is a cool, old school cafeteria. You can get some real comfort food here. When you walk in, you can opt for the freshly made sandwich section, hit up the salad bar, or head to the hot food line. Sandwiches are good and simple. They have all kinds of breads, meats, cheeses, veggies, & dressings to choose from. The salad bar is ok. There is variety however I’m not a fan of the fruit. The soups are ok too. As for the hot food, my first love was the turkey tetrazzini. Then I fell for the chicken fried chicken. Other goodies are the fried chicken, catfish, and turkey. My top sides are the mashed potatoes, spinach, carrots, and black-eyed peas. Please do not forget to get a yeast roll or jalapeño cornbread! The desserts are yummy! Try the lemon bundt cake, chess pie, cupcakes, or layer cakes. Salad bar is weighed by the ounce and I forgot that cost. A value plate(entrée, two sides, & bread) will run you $ 8.50

During some work days, I need food to comfort me. That doesn’t make me a bad person. It makes me splurge on lunch at the Renaissance Cafeteria. My big complaint is the price. That could be because I’m a little greedy and I order everything but I am always surprised at how quickly the price adds up. Not to mention that after I LOAD my plate and head to the cashier, I see the many rows of cake! Who can resist such yummy looking cake?! YUM Food I can remember having: Broccoli and cheese rice, baked tilapia, fried chicken, loaded mashed potatoes, CAKE, and squash — not at the same time … maybe Everything was good. It wasn’t like leave your house and go downtown just for this food good but it was rescue me from this long day with some home cooking, long lunch break good.

I love this place. You can get whatever you want, hot meal with veggies and chicken fried steak, or liver and onions, or all salad, or if it’s a sweet thing your craving, they have that too. The food is always fresh, and I’ve never had a bad experience here. Again, like any place you go to eat, you will not always find everything to be perfect, but close to it. Like Roxanne K. states, this is not your typical cafeteria setting, it’s warm and inviting and I enjoy going with my friends. Try it, you might add it to your list of places to eat downtown.

Wow, the food here is awesome compared to other cafeterias, move over Luby’s. Loved my mashed potatoes, this place is a perfect welcoming to Dallas.

I went here kicking and screaming because it had the word«cafeteria» in the title… and let’s face it, my co-workers have let me astray before. But, when you walk into this way underground you notice it has a warm inviting feel and décor… not hair nets and plenty of options to choose from. As Jay notes, you have to be careful. So, your experience will be based on what you select. They have a full line of choices, all piping hot. Soup, salad bar, sandwich bar and deserts. You pick your food, take it to the check and sit at a table for lunch… cafeteria style. When you’re finished, you leave it all there and go back to work. I had the chopped steak, which was great. Carrots — yum, beats — yum, coleslaw — not so yum. My friend had the Salisbury steak, some mash — both were good. I think many of the choices are pretty tasty, but I bet none of its healthy ;)
